Yorkshire Golden Retriever Club

Open Show

 Sunday 20th October 2024

(Re-arranged from 23rd August 2024)

Thank you to the Officers and committee for inviting me to judge at their show. I have been a member of this club since I began showing over 35 years ago, it was a great honour and privilege to be invited. Also thank you for their tireless efforts to re schedule this show after its unexpected cancellation. Thank you also to the Officers and Committee of the GRC of Northumbria for offering to host the show alongside their championship show. It was greatly appreciated that the majority of exhibits honoured their original entries despite the time delay and the venue move.

Overall it was a fabulous entry with a lot of high quality exhibits. I feel that is needs to mentioned that quite a few exhibits were carrying excess weight thus affecting their movement and placings. Additionally I am concerned that a number of exhibits, when asked to stand freely, were not able to stand squarely with straight forelegs and upright hocks. These concerns aside, it was an absolute privilege to judge such a super quality entry with some extremely close decisions.
