Large Munsterlander Club

My sincere thanks to the Large Munsterlander Club for their invitation to Judge here today and thank you to my stewards who were absolutely fantastic and kept things running smoothly. We had fabulous big grass rings and to top it all off the sun shone all day.

I was very pleased with the overall quality of my entry and thanks to all the exhibitors for affording me the privilege of judging their lovely dogs.

BABY PUPPY CLASSES

It was lovely to see so many baby puppies, with 6 of them littermates, it was very close in the placings and I’m sure they will swap and change places as they grow and develop.

I don’t feel it right to critique these babies individually as they all have promising breed virtues and as a slow maturing breed they need time to come together and mature, but the future looks good for the breed.

My overall winner just looked more together today and moved steadily to beat her brother.

1. Logie & Braidwood’s; Graf Lii Vom Busshof at Albadhu (Imp Deu), 11mth old mature looking puppy, liked his head with dark eye, strong, slightly arched neck into well laid shoulder, good depth of forechest and strong topline, correct tailset, straight legs, good bone with correct rear angulation and broad hips, well-muscled hindquarters which showed on the move, in profile he covers the ground well. ND

1. Bodimeade’s; Car Z Brumovskeho Udoli (Imp Cze), this was his first show I believe, pleasing head, strong muscular neck, straight topline, would prefer more layback of shoulder but has strong well turned stifles, ribs still need to develop and drop in brisket, he is still young so plenty time for him to mature, ok for bone and moved well in profile, just spoilt by high tail carriage.

GD

1. Foreman’s; Crumpsbrook Geum at Toberworry, strong masculine young dog, lovely head and dark eye, strong muscular neck which flowed into well laid shoulder, chest was deep and wide, straight front and strong hindquarters which he used to his advantage on the move, covering his ground and holding his topline well.

2. Phillips’; Ekkolander Rioja, another young dog just coming in to his own, not as strong in head as my winner, but strong neck that flowed into well laid shoulder, good depth of chest and topline, strong hindquarters, moved well but preferred the balance of my winner in profile.

PGD

1. Wakefield’s; Ekkolander Merlot, not as strong in head but it is balanced with his body, strong topline, moderately angulated front and rear, would prefer more depth of brisket, moved the best and won this class on his excellent hard condition and quality coat.

2. James’s; Darkensky Supremacy, stronger in head than my winner but better lay of shoulder and turn of stifle, good depth of brisket and short coupled, good bone. Not the same quality of coat and not as sound on the move.

LD

1. Waddington & Chick’s; Albadhu Walk of Life, this dog headed a lovely class, balanced throughout from his appealing head and soft expression to his correct tail that he carries well, he is shown in excellent hard condition with good coat, moved soundly both coming and going and covered the ground well in profile, holding his topline firm. Best Dog and Res Best in Show

2. Webb’s; Albadhu Counting Stars, another quality dog from this kennel and similar comments apply, well balanced with good angulation, bone and depth, good spring of rib and short coupled. Not as positive on the move coming and going as my winner but he covers the ground well in profile, shown in lovely condition.

3. Disney’s; Kamaze Dance in the Dark

OD

1. Jenks; Albadhu Hidden Potential, there is a lot to like on this dog, he is very smart stacked and gives a balanced picture, liked his head and expression, strong neck into well laid shoulders, strong topline, good depth and well turned stifle, shown in excellent condition and moved well to take this class.

2. Logie & Braidwood’s; Sh Ch Albadhu Walk On The Wild Side, a worth champion and shown in excellent condition, strongly made dog but well balanced all through, stronger in head than my winner and heavier over his shoulders, lost out on movement as he looked a bit flat in the heat.

3. Horton’s; Crumpsbrook Jay

VD

1. Disney’s; Sh Ch Wonglepong Will’s Faramir, very smart dog and a worthy champion, not showing his age. Lovely head and expression, well balanced and shown in good coat and condition, moved soundly to take this class but I think the heat got to him in the challenge.

2. James’s; Darkensky Prometheus JW, only just into veteran, liked his head and kind expression, strong neck and well laid shoulder, good bone and depth, not as strong behind or the turn of stifle of my winner which showed on the move.

FTB

1. Evans’s; Tarkanya Hippis Hibiscis, lovely to see representatives of the breed in this class, she is well balanced with good angulation, depth of brisket and forechest, carrying a bit of extra weight and a bit weak in hocks, but moved out well in profile.

VB

1. Logie & Braidwood’s; Sh Ch Cindy Vom Hundsfeld at Albadhu (Imp Deu) quality bitch who has put her stamp on her offspring at this kennel, at almost 9 she is in tip top condition and belies her age, she is a worthy champion and balanced throughout, sound in movement, but looked a bit flat in the heat, Best Veteran in Show.

2. James’s; Crumpsbrook Angelica,

3. Horan’s; Fulaluv Beyond Besotted, these two bitches were unlucky to meet the winner today, both have many good virtues and are good examples of the breed, neither of them showing their age.

Progeny

1. Logie & Braidwood’s; Sh Ch Cindy Vom Hundsfeld at Albadhu (Imp Deu) If Carlsberg made brood bitches then this would be one!
