Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge the working group, thank you to the exhibitors for their entries and to Kevin, my steward for the day.

Puppy 5 entries, 2 absent

1st Rarjo Macduff Making Waves with Megulcie (Williams, Newton, Slack) Portuguese Water Dog 9-month-old bitch balanced throughout with the most pleasing outline. Feminine head with good eye set, good dentition, good ear set and carriage, beautiful expression. Well put together with good angles fore and aft, moved really well and handled beautifully.

2nd Womlu Destined to be King (Coulman-Hole) Mastiff Another super quality pup in this 10-month-old brindle dog. He is masculine throughout with the makings of a superb head, broad skull with strong muzzle, well off for bone, good angles, strong front, well bodied for his age, moved well when he settled.

3rd Aritaur Dreamer (Bullen) Dobermann

1st Womlu Spudalicious (Coulman-Hole) Mastiff 10-month fawn dog of good size and balance. Impressive bone and substance throughout without being overdone. His big, square head and super expression draws you in, muscular neck, good angles and strong front. Well bodied for his age he moved soundly with ease. Well handled.

1st Bernarosa Roksolana (Norton, Sakinyte) Bernese Mountain Dog 2 yr old bitch of compact make and shape, good shoulders, good depth of chest, her movement is a little busy and is somewhat wider in front whilst in motion than desired.

1st Jojavik Spangled Mob JW (Ingram, Ingram, Tousant, Lack) Dobermann 19-month-old Black & rust bitch of the most impressive quality. I loved her as a pup and I’m over the moon to see that her potential is following through. Such a lovely example, feminine, and elegant throughout. Balanced wedge-shaped head with parallel plains, good eye shape, set and colour, well set ears that complete a super expression. Strong front, well bodied, good rear assembly. Super mover when she settles.

2nd Pasko Du Temple D’Adranos Von Tiesto (Imp FRA) (Vanson) Rottweiler 4 ½ yr old male of good size. Typey in outline, strong head with good skull to muzzle proportions. Good eye set and colour, good dentition, good ear shape and set. Strong neck, good front assembly. Well bodied, level topline, good tail set and carriage. Great on the move, covers the ground with effortless reach and drive.

1st Boese Jiggerlotti (Cook) 7-month-old Red Brindle bitch with a lovely outline. Balanced throughout she is developing beautifully. Pleasing head of good proportions, good eye and ear set, good expression. Well made front and very neat feet. Good depth of chest. Moved really well.

1st Limkyns Moonlight Tango with Attomic (Longley) 1 yr old red bitch of good type. Very pleasing outline her head is balanced with good eye, and ear set and the most heart-warming expression. Her arched next leads to well placed shoulders, a strong straight front and tidy feet. Good depth and chest and tuck with rear angles that compliment the front perfectly. Moved really well.

2nd Harvlin’s Mystification JW (Harvey, Bole) 20-month-old Brindle bitch with a super outline, lovely balanced head with good proportions, good eye, ear, and expression. Well arched neck, good front assembly and tidy feet. Moved ok when she settled.

1st Olibetay Bella Rose at Hipkins JW (Wheeler) 3 yr old brindle bitch of super quality and bags of type. Head is balanced throughout, very feminine, with a good eye and ear, lovely expression. Good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, straight front and neat feet. Good depth of chest and tuck up. Great rear make up and moved freely with reach and drive.

2nd Thorpaige What a Kerfuffle JW (Wilson) 2 yr old brindle bitch, another quality exhibit, balanced head with good eye, ear, and expression. Arched neck, good shoulders, straight front, tidy feet. Good depth of chest and rear quarters. Moved well, just preferred the movement of 1

1st Alonzobar Red Sky for Delarhia (Todd, Smith) 3 yr old male in super condition. Impressive headpiece that is square, masculine, and balanced. Strong neck, good shoulder. Straight well boned front. Good depth of chest and well sprung rib, good topline. Strong rear quarters, really good on the moved.

1st Kendarctic Lady in Red (Kendall) 1yr bitch with a pleasing outline. Good head shape with correct eye set and shape, great expression. Good shoulders, straight front, tidy feet. Well bodied, good rear assembly. A little overwhelmed but moved ok once she settled.

1st Arctictrail North of Denali for Kendarctic (Kendall) 2 ½ yr old typey male of good size and proportion. Masculine throughout and shown in great condition. Good head with correct eye shape, and set, good dentition, alert expression. Good length of neck into well set shoulders and good return of upper arm. Correct depth of chest and moderately tucked. Good hindquarters. Moved freely with reach and drive.

1st Dreamcatcher Beat Goes On (Kerr) 4 yr old bitch with an impressive outline that is both feminine and balanced throughout. Foxy head with good eye set, ear set, and super expression. Just enough neck flowing to well placed shoulders, straight front with neat feet. Just enough depth of chest, moderately tucked, well-muscled rear with good turn of stifle and low set hocks. Shown in super condition, handled to advantage.

1st Phoria’s Seventh Heaven JW (Thomas, Bull) Bullmastiff 2 yr old dog in superb condition. Impressive head that is square and balanced. Good eye set, and colour. Strong neck into well placed shoulders. Plenty of forechest, well off for bone. Well ribbed, strong topline. Good rear assembly all coming together to produce solid movement with good reach and drive.

1st Ch/Int Ch/IR Ch Auldhelm Xquisite ShCM (Smith) Portuguese Water Dog Three super quality veterans but the balance of this lady just won out. Almost square in outline and shown in super condition. A lovely balanced head, correct front assembly, well bodied, good rear and moved really well. Very pleased to hear she completed her VW today.

2nd Ch Chempam Xiomara (Brown) Bouvier Des Flandres Beautiful balanced bitch with profuse coat. Pleasing head that is well furnished, good eye, good dentition, good pigmentation. Strong neck into well placed shoulders and correct front. Well bodied with strong loin. Good rear angles. Moved really well once she settled into her stride.

1st Zefather’s Ralph Lauren JW (Cranfield) Great Dane I have watched this chappy soaring recently and I am chuffed to finally get my hands on him. What a cracker! He oozes elegance and just commands your attention. Captivating head that is both balanced and masculine, lovely reach of neck, super front assembly, good depth to his well sprung chest, a strong topline. Good turn of stifle on his well-muscled rear quarters. Moves effortlessly. Delighted to see him awarded Best in Show.
