Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge the Gundog Group, I enjoyed my day with many lovely dogs to go over.

Weimaraner

Puppy (1 0abs)

1st Maskell & Rayner, Brownbank Willow with Raystans. 9 mth old girl of good type, feminine in head, correct in eye, good clean neck, straight front with compact toes, body developing well, topline to finish, good in rear, moved better once settled. Best Puppy.

Post Graduate (6 1abs)

1st Cairns, Miss L. Lamarg Silver Huntsman. 2 yr old male of good size, good in head with clean neck, correct in shoulders, straight front with lovely tight feet, strong in topline and correct depth to body, well-muscled rear, moved effortlessly round the ring.

2nd Sayer & Wallwork Mr & Mrs, Braefell Blackthorn JW. 13mth old boy correct in head and eye, clean neck straight front with correct feet, good in body with level topline and gently sloping croup, rear developing well, moved well after he settled.

3rd Jamieson, M & G. Greyspirit Kept Me Waiting,

1st Alcorn & Ingram, Mr D & G, Gunalt Roger That (A.I.), young boy of good size, gave his handler a rough time today, Masculine in head, excellent front construction, lovely firm topline and well-developed rear hindquarters, when settled he moved with ground covering action holding topline well.  

2nd Cairns, Miss L, Lamarg Silver Showtoff, very feminine in appearance, clean neck into straight front, lovely firm feet, good depth to chest and well sprung, firm in loin and correct tailset, well-muscled in rear, moved well with handler.

3rd Murray Miss R, & Mrs M Murray, Silverstern Rumour Has it around Rachmor

1st Balmer Mr P & Mrs T, Maranika Omega, 5-year-old girl in really good condition, feminine in appearance correct in eye, good clean neck into straight front, firm feet, good depth and spring to chest, level topline with correct tailset, well-muscled in rear, moved with ground covering action. Best Of Breed

2nd Allison B, Sh Ch Sireva Silver Surfer to Silverstern, another 5-year-old girl, slightly larger than 1, lovely in head, good front with correct feet, body of good development, level in topline with correct tailset, rear well-turned stifles and well-developed muscle.

3rd O’Boyle, Mrs S, Sireva New Dawn

Labrador Retriever,

Puppy (3 1abs)

1st Campbell Caroline, Binnaig Sea Salt, Litter mates in this class, for me the girl had better quality, broad in skull with correct stop, clean powerful neck into correct shoulders, well boned in front with excellent feet, chest good in width developing well, level in topline with correct set tail and correct in type, rear quarters correct, moved best of puppies covering the ground well. Best Puppy

2nd Tulloch Mrs D, Binnaig Sea the Stars over Tullochmohr, litter brother to 1, head developing well, good in neck and well boned in front, body developing well with good spring and not carrying to much weight, level in topline, and lovely tailset used well on the move, for me I preferred the front construction of the girl.

Post Graduate, (12 5abs)

1st Pollock Mr & Mrs, Pollham Bracara, yellow girl with feminine head, broad but not course correct stop, muscular in neck, and strong front construction, good depth and shape to chest, level in topline with correct tailset, rear well-muscled, moved true fore and aft.  Best of Breed

2nd Brown Mrs M & E Vilamo, Waterline’s Change of Heart (Imp Fin) a youngster here just out of puppy although challenged well for 1st place, beautiful expression to broad skull, strong in neck and front, lovely bone all-over, well-developed chest and level in topline, excellent tail and set used to perfection on the move. Coat was gleaming, one to watch.

3rd Campbell C, Binnaig Buppsala JW

1st Pollock Mr & Mrs, Pollham Jump for Joy, 2yo girl correct in head with good stop, strong in neck into well placed shoulders, chest of good depth and shape, level topline and correct tailset used correctly on the move.

2nd Mitchell C, Darmilye Dare to Dream, masculine boy in good condition, strong in neck and correct front with tight feet, good depth and breadth to chest, level topline, rear well angulated and muscled, moved well, would have preferred a better tail.

3rd Grant Ms & S Hollas, Pazzane Dionne

1st Park Miss L, Kinchyle Hit the Lights, 6yo girl in good condition, good in head with correct features, muscular neck and correct front, well bodied and muscled, strong rear quarters, moved steady.

1st Stait Miss A, Afonbach Ballerion JW, 2 ½ year old girl shown in excellent condition, clean in head with lovely almond shaped eye, medium in neck and well-muscled, well laid-back shoulders with correct straight forelegs, deep in chest and well sprung, short in back with a level topline, correct tailset used to perfection on the move and when set. Best of Breed

2nd Roffey L, Camusmor Ca Canny with Acanuck, not quite the presence of 1, less of her in coat and size, clean in head with all the correct attributes, correct triangular ears, strong in neck into well placed shoulders, did not have the bone of 1, moved steady with handler.

Curly Coated Retriever

1st Todd, Batlle & Rahman, Jeweller’s Pride Jurajska Gwiazda (Imp Pol) upstanding male dog showing elegance and strength, correct wedge-shaped head with lovely black nose, correct in eye colour and shape, ears just above eye level, strong in neck with slight arch, legs placed well under body, chest deep and well sprung, strong and level topline, strong muscular rear quarters. Tail carried level on the move and moved with powerful gate around the ring. Coat correct with tight curl. Best of Breed

2nd Cummings Mrs J, Molokain Enchanted One, another 5-year-old with correct head although preferred 1, strong in neck and front quarters, body of good proportions, level in topline with good rear muscled quarters. Moved with good extension.

Chesapeake Bay Retriever

1st Murray Miss L, Muireatai Miricle of Dreams, 2-year-old girl, of well-proportioned size, broad in head but still feminine, well-developed nostrils with correct colour to coat, medium strong neck tapering from head to shoulders, well-muscled front quarters, well sprung ribs and short coupled, strong rear quarters with well-turned stifles, correct web feet, moved effortlessly with ease and power. Best of Breed

2nd Boyles Mrs T, Pixiestock Mr Tumnus by Bleyos. 2-year-old boy in of good size, correct in coat, broad in skull with correct length to muzzle, correct eye and ear sets, medium length of neck into powerful shoulders, well boned front, well sprung ribs and level in topline, strong rear quarters, moved well with handler.
