1. Robinson’s Sh Ch Tarward Our Joe. Just two Brittanys present on the day but I have to say I thought both were full of quality. My winner was this 6 yr old dog. He pleased for type and presented a square, cobby outline with moderate length of neck, short back with firm topline and slight slope to croup. Masculine head of good proportions, oval-shaped eyes and scissor bite. Stands true and shows himself off at all times. Moving well on the go around. BOB.
2. Slack’s Bonapartist Snow Goose. Feminine 2 yr old bitch who also appealed for type and outline. Moderate length of neck, firm topline, ribbed well back, short loin and good croup. Well proportioned head with good planes but not quite eye shape of winner. Pleasing angles front and rear and stands well naturally. Gaiting very well on the go around, true when going away but just a tad wider coming towards. Reserve BOB.
Retriever (Curly Coated)

1. Clack & Eddery’s Epsilon Adhara at Molokain. 7 mth old liver bitch. Pleasing youngster who was good to go over and presented a very nice outline. Slightly arched neck of good length to balance, firm topline, rib developing well and muscular loin. Super head and expression with good proportions and planes, oval-shaped eyes and scissor bite. Good angles front and rear and stands true in front on very good feet. Moves freely and particularly impressed on the go around. Best Puppy.
2. Arnold & Dobson’s Roughyeds Regal George at Treecave. 10 mth old black dog who is quite different to the winner and needs more time. Muscular neck, firm topline and tail of good set and carriage. Masculine head of good proportions but not quite expression of winner. He stands nice and straight in front but needs to fill out which hopefully will come with time. Moving pretty well on the go around but not down and back action of 1. Good texture to coat.

1. Emery’s Foxriever Midsummer Magic at Thunderguard. Upstanding 20 mth old black dog who has come on immensely since I saw him as a young pup although he still needs to gain a tad more confidence. He pleased for size and overall type and presented a balanced outline with moderate length of neck which is slight arched, level topline, good length to ribcage and tail set and carried correctly. Balanced headpiece with good planes and expressive eyes. Would like to see a tad more forechest. Moving well when viewed in profile but needs to firm on the down and back.

1. Brookes’ Infallibles Black Crusader at Kelsmere (Imp Nor). 4 yr old black dog who appealed for type and size, carries lovely bone and presented a well balanced outline. Muscular neck of correct length, firm level topline, deep brisket, excellent ribbing and tail good for both set and carriage. Well proportioned head with masculine expression; excellent eye and ear and correct dentition. Good angles front and rear and stands straight in front on very good feet. Moves well all through and went particularly well on the go around. Good quality coat. BOB.
2. Clack’s Bazzy Inti Anka at Molokain (Imp Cze). 4 yr old liver dog who also pleased and has the best of coats. Slightly arched neck of medium length, level topline, well sprung ribs which are carried well back, muscular loin and tail of good carriage. Balanced head with good planes, expressive oval-shaped eyes and scissor bite. Sound construction all through and stands on excellent feet. Moves out well with confident carriage and was very well handled. Reserve BOB.

1. Peat & Fox’s Tollisty Ginger Chai. A rather varied class which saw this bitch come out on top. Approaching 12 mths she is feminine all through and was pleasing to go over. Attractive head and expression; moderate stop, flat cheeks, scissor bite and best eye shape in the class. Excellent neck, firm topline, ribbed well back and ribbing developing nicely for age. Good angles front and rear and went well on the go around. Reserve BOB and Best Puppy.
2. Sewell’s Breakerswell Clearwater. 16 mth old bitch of completely different type to the winner and heavier all through. Neck of good length to balance, level topline, pleasing rib and tail of good carriage. Nicely proportioned head but eye a tad rounder. Good angles both ends and moved freely all through. Super temperament.
3. Sewell’s Littleclose From Me To You at Breakerswell

1. Tester’s Gingafing Forget Me Not. 3 yr old bitch of sound construction and for me she presented the best outline in this class. Excellent neck, firm level topline, ribbed well back, muscular loin and tail of good carriage. Feminine headpiece with good ears, correct dentition but another who is a tad rounder in eye. Well made all through and moved freely and with good carriage. BOB.
2. Sewell’s Clegane Inferno to Breakerswell. This 4 yr old dog has the most amazing temperament and obviously enjoys life to the max! Masculine all through and carrying good bone. Neck of medium length, firm topline, excellent rib and well developed forechest. Pleasing head and expression and scissor bite. Moves well when viewed in profile but not quite front action of 1.
3. Sewell’s Littleclose Father and Son to Breakerswell

1. Tester’s Gingafing Careless Whisper. 7 yr old bitch of pleasing type and feminine throughout. Moderate length of neck, level topline, nice spring of rib but a tad longer in the loin. Feminine headpiece with correct dentition. She stands well naturally in front with good feet and forechest. Moves out well on the go around, true when coming towards but a tad closer when going away. Happy showgirl.

Hodgkinson-Rutherford & Rutherford’s Zorrazo From Pennies to Riches for Chanderhill (Imp Hrv). 1 yr old brown bitch who pleased for overall type and outline, carries good bone and was good to go over. Correct short neck, firm level back, super rib for age and muscular loin. Well proportioned head with oval-shaped eyes and correct dentition with lovely big teeth. Pleasing angles front and rear and stands on nice tight feet. Super profile action and carriage. Reserve BOB.

1. Abrahams’ Cravessa’s Right On The Dot by Adormidera. 19 mth old white with brown bitch. Clipped off right now so nothing to hide. Pleasing outline with muscular neck and firm topline. Feminine head of good proportions, expressive oval-shaped eyes and good dentition. Elbows could be closer to the body and would like better feet. Moves pretty well on the go around.

1. Hodgkinson-Rutherford & Rutherford’s Sh Ch/Hr Ch Zorrazo Cheek By Jowl with Chanderhill. 4 yr old brown bitch. This girl pleased for overall type and was good to go over. She presented a good outline with strong neck, level topline, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression; good eye and ear and scissor bite. Soundly built, stands true in front and moves well all through. Good texture to coat. BOB.
2. Abrahams’ Adormidera Ziggy Star Dust. 7 yr old black dog. Solid chap, carrying good bone and pleasing for size and outline. Muscular neck, pretty good topline, deep brisket and ribbed well back. Masculine headpiece with flat skull, expressive eyes and good pigmentation. Pacing at times but when settled when pretty well all through but couldn’t quite match action of winner.

1. Cowley’s Sparkaway Ladies Man. Two very different pups challenged in this class. My winner was this 10 mth black tri dog who carries good bone. He pleased for type and was good to go over. Moderate length of neck, level topline, ribbed well back, correct croup and natural bob. Attractive head and expression and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear and stands true on excellent feet. Moved out freely. Quite a plush coat. Hope he grows on. Best Puppy.
2. Wilson & Gibbons’ Wispafetes Causing A Ripple. 9 mth old black tri bitch who is rather raw right now and therefore needs time. Pleasing outline with moderate length of neck, firm topline and good length to ribcage. Balanced headpiece but not quite expression of winner with eyes being a tad rounder. Soundly built all through and stands straight in front on very good feet. Really moves out on the go around.

1. Brown’s Shepwood Gazing at Klouds. 13 mth old blue merle bitch who comfortably won this class. Soundly constructed and therefore good to go over. She pleased in outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, firm topline, good length to ribcage and natural bob. Attractive head and expression with good eye and ear and scissor bite. Moved freely all through and was presented in good coat. BOB.
2. Woodhouse’s Onyxwood Ironside. 16 mth old black tri bitch. This girl was another who was good to go over. Neck of correct length to give balance, firm topline under the coat, pleasing rib, strong loin and full tail. Balanced in head with feminine expression but eye shape not quite that of winner. Stands true in front on good feet and moved soundly but winner did have the edge on the go around.
3. Cowley’s Sparkaway Ladies Man

1. Fitches’ Durena Frosted Orchid. Varied class which say this 6 yr old blue merle bitch come out on top and she won on overall outline. Slightly arched neck of moderate length, level topline, nice spring of rib, deep brisket and correct croup. Feminine headpiece with good proportions and dentition but eye a little rounder. Moves well enough on the go around, is true when going away but pins a touch when coming towards.
2. Wilson & Gibbons’ Wispafetes Chasing The Ace at Ozways (AI). 2 yr old black tri dog. This lad is a tad longer cast and wasn’t totally settled on the day. Having said that he was easily the best for profile action in the class. Neck of medium length, level back and pleasing rib. Masculine head with pleasing expression although again not totally correct for eye shape. Stands on good feet and was well handled.
3. Woodhouse’s Bollinchep Coloradoblue

1. Wilson & Gibbons’ Wispafete Eternal Fire at Ozways. Another class which saw two quite different dogs challenge. My winner was this 3 yr old red merle dog. Soundly constructed all through and good to go over. Muscular neck of moderate length, firm level back, well developed ribbing, strong loin and full tail. Balanced headpiece, well defined stop and scissor bite. Stands well naturally and moved out freely with good carriage. Reserve BOB.
2. Cowley’s Sparkaway Talk of the Devil JW. 5 yr old blue merle dog who really is a showman. Carrying good bone, he pleased in outline with neck of moderate length, level topline and well sprung ribs. Good angles both ends and stands straight in front with well developed forechest. Masculine head of good proportions. Moves freely all through. Preferred coat of winner.

1. Henshaw’s Magikus Sirius Black. 9 mth old black dog. This youngster appealed for type and presented a correct square outline. Correct length of neck to balance, firm topline, rib developing well, short loin and correct croup and tail carriage. Pleasing head and expression; correctly proportioned with lovely eye, excellent oral pigmentation and scissor bite. Somewhat wider in front and this reflects on the move but he went well on the go around with correct breed action. Coat developing well. Best Puppy.

1. Scrutton’s Black’N Blue’s Ready to Rock with Gemeau (Imp Dnk). Two quite different dogs challenged here. My winner was this 7 yr old black dog. Mature lad who was good to go over and shown in super coat and condition. Muscular neck, firm topline, deep ribcage and rib carried well back and correct croup and tail carriage. Balanced headpiece with dark expressive eyes, correct stop, lovely dark palate and scissor bite. He stands true in front and certainly didn’t disappoint when gaiting. BOB. He was also my choice for BVIS 3.
2. Cowley’s Kashbeluli There We Are Then JW. 2 yr old black dog. This boy has lots to like and pleased for type and he presented the square outline of the breed and is that bit shorter in back than the winner. Attractive head with super expressive eyes, well defined stop, excellent pigmentation and correct dentition. Correct angles front and rear but unfortunately not going quite as well behind today. Coat cording well and very well presented. Reserve BOB.

1. Hardisty’s Blunderhall Saucy Sally. 7 mth old tri bitch who has lots to like, pleasing for type and presented a well balanced outline. Slightly arched neck, firm topline, ribbed well back and tail of good carriage. Attractive head with feminine expression; good eye and ear and correct dentition. Stands true in front on nice tight feet and moved out freely with a nice strong rear. Well handled. Reserve BOB and Best Puppy.
2. Rushforth’s Charterwood Spangled Gold. 9 mth tan/white bitch. This girl also appealed for overall type and I thought she had a super head and expression; well proportioned with excellent eye and ear. She stands straight in front and has good feet and although she went well on the go around the winner just had that tad more front extension.

Soundly constructed lad who pleased for type and presented a good outline, with slightly arched neck, firm level topline, deep brisket, ribbed well back and tail good for both set and carriage. Well proportioned head with masculine expression, good eye and ear and correct dentition. Good angles both ends and moved true and with attitude. BOB.
2. Coates’ Gladstyle Life’s A Breeze. 6 mth old tri bitch. Only a baby but lots to like. She pleased for type and presented a compact outline with correct length of neck to balance, level topline, ribcage extends well back, firm loin and tail set on high. Feminine headpiece with super eye, ears set on low and scissor bite. She stands well naturally and has good feet and extended well in front on the go around.

1. Coates’ Gladstyle Arm Candy. 7 mth old lemon/white bitch. Feminine all through and of pleasing type. Slightly arched neck, level back, rib developing well, a touch longer in the loin and tail set on well. Feminine head but still to develop; eyes of good colour, ears set on low and correct dentition. Nice straight forelegs and stands on well knuckled-up feet. Moves true when coming towards and goes well when viewed in profile too.

1. Tofts’ Jarrowley Marlow. Two very different exhibits challenged here with my winner this 2 yr old tri dog. Carrying good bone he appealed for type and pleased in outline with good length of neck to balance, firm topline, good length to ribcage and tail set on high. Well proportioned head with masculine expression; good eye and ear and scissor bite. He stands well naturally and has good feet and moved true on the down and back but would just like a touch more extension in front.
2. Rushforth’s Charterwood Sandy. 22 mth old tan/white bitch who wasn’t quite relaxed on the day and I felt she was a touch heavier which did detract. She pleased for bone and overall type and has a nice feminine headpiece with good eye and ear. She stands straight in front, albeit a tad wider, and has nice tight feet. Moving well enough all through but not using her tail.

1. Williams, Newton & Slack’s Rarjo Macduff Making Waves with Megulcie. 8 mth old Portuguese Water Dog bitch. Super pup who was so very well handled here. She presented a well-balanced outline with correct length of neck, firm topline, slight incline to croup and tail good for both set and carriage. Quality head and expression with good skull, eyes set well apart, well defined stop and scissor bite. Soundly constructed all through and moved freely.
2. Baker’s Deglacobs Rebecca Riot. 6½ mth old Parson Russell Terrier bitch. I thought this youngster an exciting prospect, appealing for type, feminine all through and presenting such a good outline. Good length of neck, firm straight topline, ribbed well back and tail good for set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with shallow stop and keen expression. Went well on the go around with good carriage.

1. Waldron & Gray’s Une Histoire D’Amour De Chester with Snowmead JW (Imp Fra). Bearded Collie bitch, just over 12 mths, who scored for type and was a delight to go over. Feminine throughout, she presented a lovely outline with slightly arched neck, firm topline, deep chest, good length to ribcage and tail correct for set and carriage. Attractive head with expressive eyes, moderate stop and good dentition. Soundly constructed and certainly didn’t disappoint on the move. Good coat and presentation.
2. Brook’s Sculbrook Had To be A Miracle. 16 mth old black Miniature Poodle dog. Another good one who pushed the winner all the way. I thought him good for type and outline and he too is well built all through. Good length of neck, short back, excellent ribbing and muscular loin. Masculine headpiece with super expressive eyes, well chiselled under the eyes and scissor bite. Moved out freely with such good carriage. Good quality coat and very well presented.

1. Pearson’s Armardio Candle In The Wind JW. 18 mth old Basset Hound bitch who appealed for type, is feminine all through and presented such a lovely balanced outline. Well arched neck, firm topline, good spring of rib, well-muscled loins and stern set on well and of good carriage. Attractive head of good proportions with expressive eyes, low set ears and good dentition. Soundly constructed with particularly impressive front assembly.
2. Barker’s Barkersdream Who Dares Wins. 3 yr old German Shorthaired Pointer bitch. Balanced girl with slightly arched neck of good length, firm topline and good length to ribcage. Feminine head with expressive eyes, powerful jaws and correct dentition. Good angles front and rear and stands true in front on very good feet. Presented with excellent muscle-tone and moved freely all through.
3. Collett’s Velrok Ringing Gold JW

1. French’s Ch Lindfern Light Sabre JW. 6 yr old sable Shetland Sheepdog dog who is full of quality and so good to go over. He presented a super outline with correct length of neck to give balance, firm topline with slight arch over the loin, excellent rib and tail set on low and of good carriage. Most attractive head and expression with correctly placed eyes, good ears for size and set and parallel planes. Standing true in front on oval feet and moved freely all through. Quality coat and presentation and so very well handled.
2. Pearson’s Armardio Wind of Change JW. 18 mth old Basset Hound bitch who turned out to be the litter sister to the winner of the previous class. Although they are of similar type, they are quite different and this girl is a heavier build all through. She too presents such a good outline with muscular neck of correct length to balance, firm topline, excellent ribbing and stern good for both set and carriage. Quality head of good proportions, expressive eyes, ears set on low and correct dentition. Moves freely with good carriage.
3. O’Grady’s Amhard Quick Sand
BIS: Mappin’s Bryerdale Qangeroo (AI). 4 yr old Gordon Setter bitch presented in excellent coat and condition. Feminine throughout with the most beautiful head and expression; well proportioned with slightly rounded skull, lovely dark eye and ears set on low. Arched neck of correct length to balance, deep brisket, excellent ribbing and tail correct for both set and carriage. She was quite something on the go around, covering the ground and handled to advantage.
RBIS: Atherton’s Ch Valentin Vom Durrbachler Wald (Imp Nld). 3 yr old Bernese Mountain Dog. This male greatly impressed, pleasing for overall type and outline and was sound all through. Muscular neck, firm level back, nice depth of chest and well ribbed, strong loins and tail of good carriage. Quality head with super expression. Well made all through and moved freely with good carriage.
BIS 3: Hodge’s Kxoxo I’m Old Fashioned for Colkeririn JW (Imp Fin). 21 mth old Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. This young male is obviously not yet fully mature but he was so good to go over. Upstanding and correct in outline with strong, clean neck, firm topline, deep capacious chest, muscular loins and tail just right for set and carriage. Masculine head and expression with ears framing the face. Good angles front and rear and certainly didn’t let himself down when gaiting.
BIS 4: Hewitt’s Adurus Sundance Kid for Catamyrann. 11 mth old red Miniature Pinscher dog. Youngster with most attractive head and expression; oval-shaped eyes of good colour giving keen expression, flat skull, ears set on high and correct dentition. Showing himself off at all times and moved out well on the go around and nice to see desired hackney gait of the breed. Well handled.
BPIS: Morland’s Zoraden Master Baker. 9 mth old Whippet dog who I thought something special. He appealed for type and presented a beautifully balanced outline with long, elegantly arched neck, deep brisket, correct topline and tail good for length, set and carriage. Long, lean head of good proportions and super eye and ear. On the move he was accurate on the down and back and opened up with a long easy stride on the go around.
RBPIS: Hewitt’s Adurus Sundance Kid for Catamyrann
BPIS 3: Hardy-Hodgson’s Starjanda Cosmic Dream. 11 mth old Old English Sheepdog bitch. Feminine youngster who appealed for type and was good to go over. She presented the desired square outline of the breed, has a good length of neck and was shown in excellent coat which was of correct texture. Well proportioned head with capacious skull and expressive eyes. Moved well on the go around with good carriage.
BPIS 4: Gee’s Watercroft Sparkles. 8 mth old Norfolk Terrier bitch. Very much a baby but she pleased for type and presented a lovely compact outline with moderate length of neck and firm topline. Feminine headpiece with correct proportions, expressive dark eyes and correct scissor bite. Moved freely and she particularly impressed when coming towards.
BVIS: Broome’s Liroda Midnight Kiss at Evingbriar VW. 9 yr old Scottish Terrier bitch. I have met this girl previously and she seems to get better and better with age. Always an endearing character and so very well handled. Today the top award just had to be hers. Feminine all through, she presented a lovely outline with neck of correct length to balance, firm topline, deep brisket, short powerful loin and tail set on well and of good carriage. Head of good proportions with keen expressive eyes and ears set on well. Moved out freely and with attitude.
RBVIS: Jarvis & Troisi’s Nordicwinds All Attitude. 10 yr old Alaskan Malamute bitch who pleased for overall type and outline. Moderately arched neck, correct topline with desired slight slope from withers to croup, deep brisket and tail of good set and carriage. Attractive head with good breadth to skull, obliquely set eyes and good depth of muzzle. On the move, she moved freely with good carriage. Good quality coat and very well handled.
BVIS 3: Scrutton’s Black’N Blue’s Ready to Rock with Gemeau (Imp Dnk)
BVIS 4: Clare’s Benoleo Brasilla. Coming up to 9 yrs this red smooth Chow bitch has lots to like and carries lovely bone and substance. She presented a compact outline, has excellent ribbing and curled tail set on high. Feminine headpiece with broad, flat skull, moderate length of muzzle which is of good breadth, super eye and ear and excellent pigmentation. Moves with characteristic gait on the go around.
