COVENTRY LADIES’ KENNEL SOCIETY - OPEN SHOW

1st January 2024

Bullmastiff

PGD/B (1,0)

1. Warren & Green’s Copperfield Hubble. 2 yr old fawn dog of pleasing type and with a super temperament. Neck of moderate length, firm topline and ribbed well back. Skull of good breadth, pleasing eye and ear, broad muzzle of correct length to balance, well filled cheeks and level bite. He stands on good feet but I would like to see more width and depth to chest. Moves ok on the go around with good tail carriage but could not quite match action of Open winner. Reserve BOB.

OD/B (1,0)

1. Thomas & Bull’s Phoria’s Seventh Heaven JW. 21 mth old fawn dog who has so much to like. Powerfully built and pleasing for type and good to go over. Well arched, muscular neck of correct length to balance, firm topline, excellent ribbing, broad loin and tail good for set and carriage. Quality head with broad skull, pronounced stop, good eye and ear, well filled cheeks and good breadth to underjaw. Good angles front and rear and moved freely and with purpose. Another with an amazing temperament and he was so very well handled here. BOB and I understand he went on to take Reserve BIS.

Newfoundland

PD/B (3,1)

1. Leech & Moir’s Elgrandbear Razz Ma Tazz. 11 mth old black dog. Most promising youngster who was good to go over. He presented a nicely balanced outline with strong neck of good length to balance, level topline, ribbed well back, muscular loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Attractive headpiece with dark expressive eyes, ears set well back, correct stop and scissor bite. He carries good bone and is well made all through and when gaiting, covers the ground with typical action. Well handled. BOB & Best Puppy. Later going on to take Group 3 and Puppy Group 2.

2. Gorvin & Cole’s Davistell B’Mian Rapsody (AI). 8 mth old black dog who is really quite raw right now and therefore needs time. A rangier pup than the winner with good length of neck, firm topline and ribcage extending well back. Head still needs to develop but he has good eye and ear and correct dentition. Also needs to fill out in forechest but he has time on his side. Moving out pretty well on the go around.

JD/B (2,1)

1. Leech & Moir’s Elgrandbear Razz Ma Tazz

PGD/B (2,1)

1. Drakeford’s Mississippi-Missouri Walking My Angel. 22 mth old black dog who has lots to like. Carrying good bone and masculine all through. Muscular neck but would like to see a tad more length, firm level topline, chest of good depth and with well sprung ribs, muscular loin and tail good for set and carriage. Broad head with dark expressive eyes, ears set well back, short rather square muzzle and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear and standing true in front. Moves out well when viewed in profile.

OD/B (2,1)

1. Drakeford’s Sasquatch Zero to Hero. 2 yr old black dog. Nice balanced lad with strong neck, pretty good topline, deep chest, nice spring of rib and well-muscled loins. Masculine headpiece with good breadth to skull, excellent eyes, small ears set well back and correct length to muzzle. Well boned all through, standing straight in front on very good feet. Gaiting well on the go around but could be more positive when coming towards. Well handled. Reserve BOB.

Siberian Husky

PD/B (1,0)

1. Simms’ Nesslands One In A Million at Arcticskies. 8 mth old bitch pup who obviously loves life! Nicely arched neck of good length to balance, pretty good topline, pleasing rib development, muscular loins and tail good for both set and carriage. Well proportioned head with feminine expression and correct dentition. Good angles front and rear, standing true in front on oval-shaped feet and moved particularly well on the go around. Good quality coat. Best Puppy.

OD/B (5,1)

1. Hughes’ Ch Siberiadrift Keep Forever JW ShCM. 8 yr old bitch, moderate all through and pleasing for type. Feminine girl who presented a well balanced outline with arched neck, firm level topline, chest of good depth and ribbed well back, muscular loins and tail of correct set and carriage. Balanced head with expressive, obliquely placed eyes, ears set on high and scissor bite. Soundly constructed both front and rear and she moved out freely with seemingly little effort. Well handled. BOB.

2. Simms’ Arcticskies Baileys On Ice. This 4 yr old bitch was close up to the winner and was so good to go over. Full of femininity, she scored in outline with an excellent neck, level topline, good depth of brisket, correct ribbing, muscular loin and good tail for set and carriage. Attractive head of good proportions; correct stop, pleasing eye and ear and scissor bite. Well made all through and another moving true and light on her feet. Reserve BOB.
