1. Ross’ Mactufts Gentleman’s Game. A rather varied class to start the day. This 11 mth old blue came on top. Neck of good length to balance, good depth to chest for age, pleasing topline and tail set on low and of good carriage. Narrow skull with good depth, expressive eyes and ears set on low. Good angles both ends, standing true in front and scored here on the move. Best coat texture in class. Best Puppy Dog.

2. Nind’s Devleigh True Blue. 8 mth old blue who is out of a bigger mould than the winner. Pleasing headpiece with correct narrow skull, very nice eye with fill below, ears set on low and correct dentition. Long neck, deep brisket, topline more pronounced than winner and tail carried a tad higher. Moving true behind and goes well on the go around but needs to firm up in front. Pleasing coat.

3. McDonald’s Polypody Prince Howie

JD (2,0)

1. McDonald’s Polypody Prince Howie. Two 9 mth old blue littermates challenged here. Very similar in type and overall outline but both very dark with no discernible lightness to top-knots at the present time. The winner pleased for length of neck, topline and tail for both set and carriage but ribbing still to fully develop. Narrow skull, good eye, ears set on low but a little larger and correct dentition. This boy just had the edge on the go around, showing more drive than 2, although a tad closer behind.

2. McDonald’s Polypody Prince Andy. Pleasing outline with clean neck of good length, correct arch over his short loin, good underline and tail set on low and of good carriage. Narrow skull with good depth, expressive eyes and ears set on low. Could open up more on the go around.

ND (3,0)

1. Broughton & Brennon’s Silverkinn Double Oh Seven. 18 mth old blue who has an excellent length of neck, good depth to brisket and tail set on nice and low but topline arching just before loin. Pleasing head and expression with narrow skull of good depth, very nice eye, ears set on low and super dentition. He stands as he should in front, moved well on the down and back and when relaxed he went well enough on the go around. Good texture to jacket.

2. McDonald’s Polypody Prince Howie

3. McDonald’s Polypody Prince Andy

1. Jones’ Squidlyannes Pirate King. This was a somewhat mixed class with some very different dogs present. My winner was this 18 mth old blue who for me, was the best to go over. He presented a balanced outline with very good length of neck, good depth to chest, correct ribbing and arch over the loin. Attractive head with good depth to his narrow skull, excellent eye will fill below, thin ears set on low and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear and he moved well all through and used himself. Unfortunately tail carried higher than preferred. Good quality coat and presentation.

2. Crump’s Yarbach Bowling Broad. This 2 yr old blue is nicely balanced with clean neck of good length, characteristic topline, short loin and tail correct for both set and carriage however I just felt he was a little lacking all through for a male. Pleasing head with good depth, expressive eyes, ears set on low, long jaw and good dentition. Moved well enough all through and was well handled.

3. Long’s Travellerways Godwin at Dunkeswell

Limit Dog (2,1)

1. Kinns’ Kinnuva Summer Pearl. Two quite different dogs challenged here. This 6 yr old blue was my winner. Balanced, lithe lad who was good to go over. Clean neck of good length to balance, good depth to chest, correct ribbing, arch over the loin and tail set on low and of good carriage. Narrow skull of good depth, expressive eyes, thin ears which are set on low and good dentition. Good angles both front and rear, stands correctly in front and moved well on the down and back. Pleasing texture to jacket. Could have been a tad more animated but did enough to take Reserve Best Dog today.

2. Bannister’s Miteymidgets Modern Love JW. 2 yr old blue out of a larger mould than 1. Pleasing outline with good length of neck, characteristic topline, deep brisket and tail good for both set and carriage but winner just had the edge in rib. Masculine head with good depth to his narrow skull, expressive eyes with good fill below, ears set on low and correct dentition. Good angles both ends and really moved out well and made the most of himself as he went.

OD (2,0)

1. Worrall’s Ch Bluesmurf Boogie Woogie. This 4 yr old blue very much appealed for overall type and outline and was good hands on too. Clean neck of good length to balance, correct ribbing, characteristic topline and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Masculine headpiece; narrow skull of good depth, expressive eyes which are well filled below, thin velvety ears set on low, good length to jaw and scissor bite. Good angulation front and rear and he stands as desired in front on good feet. When gaiting, he was true on the down and back and impressed on the go around too. Good quality jacket, excellent presentation and very well handled. Best Dog.

2. Bannister’s Ch Miteymidgets New Vision JW. This 3 yr old has lots to like and was also good to go over. He presented a very good outline with correct length of neck to give balance, good depth to brisket, arch over the loin leading to correct set on of tail which he carries nice and low. Most attractive head with good depth to his narrow skull, expressive eyes, thin ears set on low and correct dentition. Soundly constructed all through and moved freely all through with good carriage. Top-knot could be lighter and coat texture not quite that of winner. Very well handled.

VD (2,1)

1. Martin Impey’s Kinnuva Dark Sleekester. Soundly constructed 8 yr old liver with plenty to like. Long, tapering neck, deep brisket, pleasing topline, correct croup and tail set on low. Narrow skull of good depth, expressive eyes, ears set on low but a tad thicker than preferred and scissor bite. Good angles both front and rear and stands correctly in front on long hare feet. Pleasing action all through and used himself as he went. Good texture to jacket. Well handled. Best Veteran Dog.

2. Ross’ Major Tufts at Mactufts. Blue approaching 8 yrs. This boy pleased in outline with neck of good length, nice deep brisket, correct ribbing and tail set on low and of good carriage. Narrow skull of good depth, correct stop, expressive eyes and ears set on low but also could be thinner. Moved well on the down and back and was more than ok on the go around but winner did have the edge. Coat clipped-back and therefore lacking texture right now. Good pigmentation.

2. Long’s Travellerways Godwin at Dunkeswell. 2 yr old blue out of a larger mould. Neck of good length, deep chest, pleasing rib and tail good for both set and carriage. Narrow skull of good depth, correct stop, bright expressive eyes with pleasing fill below, ears set on low and scissor bite. He has good feet but could stand tidier in front. Delightful head and expression with narrow skull of good depth, bright expressive eyes which are well filled below, low set ears and scissor bite. 1. Lee’s Rocabec Wonderland at Corderito. This class was another where two quite different youngsters challenged. My winner was this 14 mth old sandy who appealed for overall type and presented a pleasing outline. Neck of good length to balance, correct topline with arch over the loin and tail set on low of correct carriage. 2. Kinns’ Kinnuva Espresso Elixir. 10 mth old blue with nice long neck, typical topline of the breed, rib developing well for age and tail set on low. Attractive head and expression with good depth to her narrow skull, very dark eyes, ears set on low, scissor bite and excellent pigmentation. Good angles front and rear and she stands correctly in front. When gaiting she moves true in front and goes very well on the go around but is a little closer when going away. Top-knot to lighten.

1. Long’s Dunkeswell Pepper Dash. 18 mth old blue with lots to like. She pleased for overall type and outline and is lithe with clean neck of good length to balance, correct ribbing, arch over the loin, and good croup leading to low set on tail. Feminine head and expression with narrow skull, bright eyes of good colour which are well filled below, correct ear set and scissor bite. Pleasing angles both ends and she moves well on the go around, is true behind and ok when coming towards. Well handled.

2. Chester’s Squidlyannes Dreamer. This 18 mth old blue is quite different to the winner being more substantial in build all through. Pleasing neck, good depth to brisket and arch over the loin but tail carried a tad higher. Deep skull with thin ears of correct set, eyes of good colour but a little larger, long jaw and scissor bite. Pleasing angulation and she moved pretty well all through. Another handled to advantage.

PGB (1,0)

1. Bannister’s Miteymidgets New Variant. 3 yr old blue of pleasing type. Clean neck of good length to balance, correct ribbing, arch over the loin and tail set on low and of correct carriage. Feminine head with narrow skull of good depth, dark expressive eyes, ears set on low, muzzle of sufficient length and scissor bite. She stands correctly for the breed in front and has good feet. Has a spring in her step when gaiting and moved ok all through. Would like to see some lightness to top-knot.

LB (6,2)

1. Lee’s Agnellino’s Faith No More. 2 yr old liver out of a larger mould but for me, she presented the best outline in the class. Super neck, deep brisket, correct topline with arch over the loin, good croup and tail set on low and of correct carriage. Attractive head with feminine expression; narrow skull of good depth, correct stop, pleasing eye, ears set on low and good dentition. Correct angles front and rear and standing true in front. Gaiting well on the go around with good carriage. Jacket of good texture and presentation.

2. Worrall’s Skewhill Remembrance with Bluesmurf. 22 mth old blue with lots to like and appealed for overall type. Neck of good length, pleasing topline and tail set on low but not quite the underline of winner. Feminine headpiece with good depth to her narrow skull, bright expressive eyes of good colour and well filled below, correct low set ears and scissor bite. She stands as the breed should in front and has long hare feet. Winner had the edge on the go around but this girl was better fore and aft.

3. Long’s Dunkeswell Pebble Run

OB (6,1)

1. Jones’ Ch Miteymidgets Little Hottie at Squidlyannes. 5 yr old blue who stood out for me in this class. Quality all through and a delight to go over. She appealed for type and presented a lovely outline with good length of neck, correct ribbing, firm topline with characteristic arch over the loin, good croup and tail correct for both set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with narrow skull of good depth, expressive eyes of good colour, thin velvety ears set on low and scissor bite. Well made both front and rear and stands as she should in front on good feet. One the move she certainly didn’t let herself down and made the most of herself as she went. Good quality jacket and presentation. Best Bitch and Best in Show.

2. Moore & Chudleigh’s Devleigh Dirty Dancing. 3 yr old blue of different build to the winner, being somewhat heavier all through but another soundly constructed girl. Pleasing neck, deep brisket, arch over the loin and tail set on low of good carriage. Attractive head and expression with nice dark eyes which are well filled below, low set thin ears and good dentition. Correct angles both ends and stands just right in front on long hare feet. Moving true when coming and going and went well on the go around too. Well handled.

3. Martin Impey’s Red Hot Chili of Lovely Star at Silverkinn (Imp Fra)

VB (6,1)

1. Bannister’s Ch Miteymidgets Going Global JW ShCM VW. 10 yr old blue who certainly belies her age. I thought her an excellent type, so well balanced and she certainly didn’t disappoint when hands on. Graceful and lithe with excellent neck, good depth to chest and correct rib, arch over the loin, correct underline and tail set on low. Feminine head and expression; narrow skull of good depth, dark bright eyes, low set ears which are thin and velvety in texture, good fill below the eyes and scissor bite. Well constructed both front and rear and standing just right in front on long hare feet. Gaiting freely and in characteristic fashion. Reserve Best Bitch, Best Veteran in Show and also my choice for Reserve Best in Show.

2. Moore & Chudleigh’s Ch Devleigh Dare To Dream. This 8 yr old blue also appealed although a slightly heavier build than the winner. She too was good to go over given her correct construction. Balanced in outline with good length of neck, nice depth to brisket, firm topline with desired arch over the loin and correct croup leading to low tail set. Attractive head and expression with good depth to skull, dark eyes with good fill below, thin ears set on low and scissor bite. Sloping shoulders and stands as she should in front and muscular hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. Opens up well on the go around.
