Whitstable & District Canine Society

My thanks to the Officers and Committee, my hard-working steward Liz and of course the exhibitors for the opportunity to judge at this friendly show. I never underestimate the privilege of having dogs entered for my opinion in breeds that are not my own and I appreciate your entries, thank you

RETRIEVER (LABRADOR)

PUPPY (2)

1st - Mrs & Miss Reardon's SARANDEN LEAP OF FAITH TO OTHAMCOURT, balanced outline on this lovely 7 mths Yellow B, strong & broad all through with excellent bone, well-proportioned feminine head, good eye colour giving the sweetest of expressions framed by well-set ears, strong clean neck & ample forechest, best of feet, very well-angulated front and rear, deep in brisket, big ribs leading to strong & short couplings, very well-developed thighs, still carrying a little puppy fat but not excessive, happy temperament, full of life & vitality with an ever-wagging Otter tail, movement was lively, free & true, RBOB, BPIB & delighted to learn that she was later awarded Puppy Group 1

2nd - Mrs Jury's HANDIALLA LADY IN RED AT BALLAREMUERA, 11 mths Yellow B, well-shaped in outline, attractive feminine head of correct proportions, good eye colour & kindest of expressions, strong neck, plenty of forechest, shoulders well-laid back, deep in brisket, strong & broad all through body with big ribs, strongly-coupled, firm all over with no excess weight, super width of thigh & well-muscled, well-let down hocks, outgoing & friendly temperament obviously wanting to please her handler, on the move she was very tidy out & back, just preferred the sheer verve of 1st

1st - Ms Kerr's TRULACE AMBASSADOR, substantial 2 yrs Choc D with a striking richly-coloured & gleaming hard coat, well-proportioned masculine head not overdone in any way, eye colour dark enough, kind & intelligent expression, correctly-sized & well-set ears, strong clean neck leading to well-laid shoulders, ample forechest, well-boned legs of sufficient length, lovely round compact feet, deep in brisket with big ribs, firm broad & deep all though body, very short-coupled, well-developed hindquarters, topped off by a well-covered & wagging tail, moved soundly with purpose, showing off his happy temperament, BOB on maturity over the lovely puppy

2nd - Miss Griffin & Mr Moulster's JENNBERRY BOJO, 3 yrs Yellow D, decent make & shape throughout, head not overdone, proportionate skull & muzzle, pleasing dark eye colour, lovely expression showing his kindly nature, would prefer a better ear-set, strong & clean in neck, longer in leg than 1st, shoulders well-laid back & blades of good length, sufficient return of upper arm, deep enough in brisket with good spring of rib, slight tuck-up, well-developed hindquarters, very steady mover & wanting to please his handler, preferred the enthusiasm & overall substance of 1st but a credit to his working background

1st - Miss Barkley's JACRANELLA GALAHAD OF CHERRYHEATH (AI), 15 mths D, eye-catching appearance being compact, symmetrical and balanced, well-proportioned head with plenty of work in it, kind & dark eye, stood on well-boned medium-length legs & rounded feet, long clean & muscular in neck, sufficient forechest, well-laid shoulders, would just prefer a shade more length to upper arm, deep brisket & strong through body, well-sprung ribs, short & strong in couplings, well-built hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle & well-developed thigh, moved with purpose covering plenty of ground & displaying happy confident temperament , worthy BOB

POST GRADUATE (1)

1st - Batey's GLENBROWS BEST OF FRIENDS, 2 yrs D, pleasingly compact & symmetrical in profile, delightful balanced masculine head with fairly square muzzle & well-developed nostrils, kind eye & softest of expressions, neck strong & muscular, not quite the neck length or front angulation of Junior winner & would prefer a bit more forechest, good length of leg being not too leggy, brisket deep & ribs well-sprung , short-coupled with slight rise over loin, moderate rear angulation with good width of thigh, beautiful rich red & sparkling white coat, kindly & confident temperament, preferred Junior's overall substance & positive movement for BOB, pleased to award him RBOB

1st - Miss Barkley's CHERRYHEATH MR MOJITO, 9 yrs D, compact & symmetrical outline show-casing the best front & rear angulation in this entry, pleasing balanced head just starting to reveal his advancing years now, lovely eye colour & expression radiating his kindly nature, strong & long neck leading to plenty of forechest , proportionate leg length, slightly down on pasterns & feet perhaps not as good as they once were, deep & strong all through body, well-coupled & strong over loin, powerful hindquarters with wide thighs, active driving movement belies his age, serious contender for RBOB, just preferred head & coat of PG winner
