Thank you to the committee for asking me to be the replacement judge for Dr Marion Thomas , many thanks to the exhibitors for allowing me the opportunity to go over their dogs .

Gordon Setter Puppy

1st Mr A M & Mrs S Green, BALNAKEIL CREAG RAINICH,

11 month bitch who presented a nice outline stacked. Head still needs to break but good proportions, dark eye, fairly long in muzzle and feminine expression. Longish neck sitting correctly into well laid shoulders. Long from hip to hock, lovely short hocks. On the move she was steady and true with super tail action, good colour and texture of coat. Delighted to award her BP and lovely to watch her go RBIS.

2nd Christine Clark, CLOHASS ARDMADDY,

Only 6 months and a raw puppy, balanced for age in outline, pretty expression, correct front assembly, level in back, decent width to rear quarters. Little bit untidy on the move today but that’s to be expected. All the potentials to make a nice bitch.

3rdMr & Mrs Yates, GAILIECH FRAISTHORPEDOTTIR,

Junior

1st Angela Phillips, Tereza Watkins & Kerry Bryant, GLENMAURANGI AURORA,

Just out of puppy , stylish young bitch , stood she has a lovely shape with clean outline . Longish muzzle , enough stop and the sweetish of expressions , dark eyes.

Deep through brisket, elbows well let down. Shown in correct coat of texture and colour and stylish on the move with super tail action.

2nd Ghislaine Mcfarlane, ARDNADAM WILLOW COPPICE,

Not as mature in body as the winner , would prefer a little more neck ,long sloping shoulder blades , level topline .stifles well let down , decent width to second thigh . Not as tidy on the move today.

Yearling

1st Patricia Gray, KATTANDALE BLAC HAWKE'S BAY AT BIRNIEHILL (Al),

20month bitch , head of decent type , pretty expression , low set ears . Good forechest with deep brisket, level topline . Just moved a little wide in front but decent side gait . Rear quarters will strength as she matures.

2nd Jill Burke, PIPRUDA JUBILEE, longer cast than winner , dark eyes with kind expression , straight front with correct lay of shoulder, decent length of stride in front but rather untidy behind today.

Novice

1st Ghislaine Mcfarlane, ARDNADAM WILLOW COPPICE,

2nd in junior , settled more in the class and moved better behind.

2nd Mr & Mrs Yates, GAILIECH FRAISTHORPEDOTTIR,, needs time as very raw , will hopefully body up as she matures , moved steady and true .

Post Graduate

1st Faye & Andrew Hogg, GAN ECH SO GALYOD, good outline , clean and a nice dog to go over , long neck , sloping well placed shoulders , level back and good finish to croup . Stifles well let down and tidy feet . Moved well.

2nd Mr & & Mrs Yates, GA LIECES GODDESS, litter sister , similar comments apply she has pretty expression , low set ears , long neck and level topline , well muscled rear quarters . Just not as positive on the move.

Limit

1st Leslie Munro, PANTHERA BAD MEDICINE DULMAUR Imp Pol , beautiful bitch of good size, nothing exaggerated , loved her head , lovely chiselling and good finish to muzzle. Long arched neck sitting into well laid shoulders . Rear quarters well angled , short hocks. Stylish on the stance and stylish on the move to take a nice limit class .

Correct texture of coat, deep black and rich chestnut markings. I could have taken her home with me

2nd Nina Bell, Alison Millar,

Sheelagh Bell, BALNAKEIL BEINN CORRADAIL OFBLAIRBELLES, elegant boy of symmetrical proportions , dark eye , good stop , well laid shoulders of flat bone , deep through brisket , well ribbed back .

Shown in excellent coat and moved with drive . Unlucky to meet bitch in such good form.

3rd Hamish Miller, LIRIC JUST THE TICKET,

Open

1st Maggy Halliday, YENNADON BARRA JW SGWC, star of the day , he is so well made , correct body proportions , masculine head , dark eyes and low set ears , longish neck set into sloping well laid shoulders, best of fronts , deep brisket , well sprung ribs , good width to rear quarters , level topline which was held on the move .  

Correct texture and colour of coat. In super musculature condition. Very correct on the move , free moving stride and true front and aft. Showing drive . Delighted to award him BOB and watch him take BIS 3 and later learned he won his 3rd CC and was now a Champion. What a great day for owner.  

2nd Miss L Millar, & Mrs M & Mr N Millar, SH CH YENNADON BENRIACH JW SHCEX,

Another quality dog , stylish on the stack , good length of neck with slight arch . Level topline and good finish to croup. Balanced front and rear angulations. Deep through brisket and well ribbed back.

Moved well with drive and good tail action. Presented very well . Delighted to hear he went BVIS
