Many thanks for the invite to judge at your friendly gundog show.

Thank you to all the exhibitors for your entry and to the pointer exhibitors who accepted me as their replacement judge. Thank you to my stewards for a job well done.

Pointers

Puppy (4,2)

1st Edmondson& Robertshaw , Crookrise Sunbeam,

Mature Puppy bitch, who took a bit of time to settle on the move, good head planes, well laid shoulders, deep brisket and decent spring of ribs for a youngster, just a little untidy on move to begin with but did enough to win the class.

2nd Radcliffe , Sniperay Suite Note (A.I.). Preferred the more feminine head on this bitch but still only a baby and giving a bit away in maturity, as she matures hopefully, she will drop into her quarters and this will help her outline, straight front and very nice tidy feet, bee sting tail carried well.

1st Bush , Piasharn Breaking the Law

2nd Bush Piasharn Rocka Rolla

Litter mates, 1st the bitch was very pretty, balanced head, muzzle somewhat concave, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, enough chest but still needs time to drop into herself. Moved well, she had good front reach coming from a driving rear action.

Male was all male, masculine expression, plenty of stop and correct finish to muzzle. Good reach of neck, strong topline and good width to second thigh, just preferred the side gait of his sister.

1st Nelis Freebreeze Special Affects JW,

Beautiful O/W girl , full of breed type, super curvy outline, moderately angulated front and rear and lovely flowing topline. She had lovely feet and fabulous bee sting tail which she used on the move. Super movement in this class, lovely reach and drive from her muscular hindquarters. Very close up for BOB.

2nd Booth Lundgarth Jubilee JW

Another really pretty girl, full of breed type and the prettiest of heads. Long clean neck, good bone and deep through ribs and well muscled rear, she moved okay but would not raise her tail in this class. Such a shame as I very much liked her.

Graduate

1st Booth Lundgarth Jubilee JW

O/W, She moved so much better in this class, she showed she could move with style and lovely open side gait. With tail carried correctly.

2nd Bush Piasharn Demelza

Preferred the head of 1st, but this girl was balanced with a nice curvy outline, good clean neck sitting into the best of shoulders, moved well using her tail.

3rd Bush, Piasharn Garrick

1st Radcliffe Sniperay Mattiboo Killer Queen, O/W bitch, liked her curvy outline stood, correct bone, good topline which she held on the move, showing reach and drive. Pretty expression and clean finish to muzzle.

1st Morgan Van Freeze ( Imp NLD) 5 year old mature bitch, with the best of heads, lovely soft, melting expression. Straight front, long sloping shoulders well laid back. Good ribs with plenty of heart room. Moved out very well showing reach and drive. BOB

English Setters

Junior

1st Bournehouse Eternal Flame For Meadowfoot . Beautiful , elegant,quality orange belton bitch. Such a super type, soft expression and clean finish to muzzle. Excellent body proportions, slightly arched, long neck. Short back with firm level topline which was held on the move. Rear quarters have strength and width to 2nd thigh. Loved watching her move, typical in action, graceful and fluent stride with good hock action finished with lashing tail. Lovely proud head carriage. Silky coat and well muscled body. Only young but should make up. BOB

2nd Waller , Ennydloc Yorkshire Design, Lovely tri bitch, looking mature for age, beautiful well-proportioned head, expressive eyes, and feminine soft expression. Long enough neck into good well laid-back shoulders, elbows were set close to body, strong hindquarters and correct finish to croup, moved true with precise footfall, perhaps a little overweight today but once in show condition, I am sure she will trouble the best.

3rd Ennydloc Yorkshire Liaison To Rowanmyle, lacks a little in maturity to his sister at the moment .

1st Rowan Was A Skellum, mature, elegant, blue Belton dog, super outline, and a very nice dog to go over. Attractive head with dark eye and kind expression. Not too deep in muzzle, straight front and firm level topline, ribs well sprung with plenty heart room, croup well finished, and hocks well let down, very good foot placement on the move and strong hocks. Close up to BOB.

2nd Rowanmyle One Bewitched , litter sister to above , equally good in construction and pretty head , dark eye with sweet expression. Clean finish to muzzle. Long neck , well placed shoulders , super tail set . Not in the best coat but equally nothing to hide.

1st Sarscottah Fearless Flame BP & RBPIS

2nd Sarscottah Fusilier At Lorabar

2 litter brothers, the 1st is more mature looking at the moment, preferred his substance and bone, he has the better body condition, nothing overdone on either, moderate angulations front and rear, both stood on good feet and both had that typical puppy behaviour on the move, first was just more correct on the up and down. I would think the first has a bright future.

Fully mature male. Very typical in shape and outline stood, nothing overdone, well laid shoulders and moderate rear angulations. Stood on correct feet and moved round ring with long easy stride, shown in good coat and muscular condition. BOB

7yr old bitch, good head equal length to skull and muzzle, broad ears and moderate length to neck, firm straight topline, moderate rear quarters moved okay. Shown in good muscular condition.

1st Braithwaite Rory At Fallowfield , nice young dog on the stack ,good outline , masculine head with correct furnishings, coat of correct texture and balanced moderate angulations .

On the move he was not striding out and kept putting the brakes on, not sure but he seemed worried about something.

2nd Ida Vom Holstef At Ovetil , only a puppy and needs to mature on a bit , balanced in outline and shown in correct coat, pretty expression and furnishings starting to come.

Steady but correct foot placement. BP

1st Kenzduo Fusilli At Ovetil , when stood presented a decent outline, head in proportion to body, ample bone and substance, would prefer a tad more neck, well set, sloping shoulders, small feet. Moved okay would like a little more drive but correct in foot placement. BOB

Quality young bitch with good body proportions. Super coat coming though, feminine but with substance. Balanced front and rear angulations. Loved her head and eyes very soulful expression with correct face furnishings. Just a little sticky on the move.

1st Sh Ch Enryb Skye Blue

2nd Sh Ch Redrafi Mrembo Nacho ,

A real privilege to judge two quality dogs at an open show, picking hairs between them, both full of breed type and qualities. Coats of correct texture and both in good hard muscular condition. Dog, I thought was a little stronger on the move, but the bitch ended up BOB as she had a little more body condition on the day.

Spanish Water Dogs

1st Pabiagas Sergio Sinduda , liked this young male, robust and well muscled, balanced moderate angulations front and rear. Flat skull with moderate stop, ears v shaped, elbows close to body and deep brisket. Moved with purpose and drive around the ring, showing that typical brisk stride. Correct woolly coat of curls. BOB

2nd Sierrasalvas Calabaza, another robust dog, flat skull, feminine expression, big nostrils and good pigmentation. Not as good in front as 1st and would like to see a little more drive from her rear hocks. Coat of correct texture.
