Firstly, I wish to thank the Society for my invitation to judge, the exhibitors for their support and for accepting my decisions sportingly and finally my Steward Caroline who did an amazing job in keeping the ring running smoothly.

Special Yearling (2,1)

1st Moltons Jayricnbrits Unctious at Braebrits

11 month old orange/white bitch. Alert, intelligent yet still soft and keen expression, parallel lines of skull, correct ear shape and set, loved her lines and angulation, Cobby with short back, deep brisket and short loin, pasterns vertical, straight topline retained on move. Such ring presence for one so young both in free stack and on the move. BOB BPIB Delighted to note she gained Gundog G1 and Gundog Puppy G1

1st Moltons Jayricnbrits Uther at Braebrits

11 month old tricolour dog. I note litter mate to SY winner yet such a different type. Same alertness and intelligence, parallel line of skull, correct ears, of sound construction, slightly longer in body than SY. Nice angulation, neat shoulders, straight topline. A handful at times for his owner but when settled moved truly.

1st Riley’s Wylloh Paddington Bear

8 month old dog. Kind expression, dark eye, clean and powerful neck, well laid-back shoulders having correct length and angulation, well balanced dog showing deep ribbing leading to strong loin and well-muscled thighs, straight hocks and correct tail set. Held topline well as he drove around the ring. BPIB

2nd Rees Drumkilty Merry and Bright for Catenae

6 ½ month old bitch. Sweet expression, good front angulation showing correct lay/length shoulders and upper arm, well balanced, good tail set, straight hocks, not as settled on move as winner.

3rd Etheringtons Elkarima’s Golden Renaissance Raffielo of Gemasu

1st Rees Putjade Parsnip at Catenae

4 year old bitch. Kind expression, well laid shoulders which were balanced in ratio to upper arm, straight front, good depth chest, held topline, solid and well-muscled rear construction, good tail set. Covered the ground with crisp and unhurried free stride.

1st Ives Balsamina Bellini JW

3 ½ year old bitch. Beautiful, soft expression, dark and kind eye, straight front with well angled shoulders, possibly want a smidge longer upper arm, straight topline, strong loin, muscular thighs, well bent stifles and tight feet overall a very well-balanced bitch showing a pleasing and smooth gait. BOB

1st Goodwins McFarwins Flashing Lights

16 month old yellow bitch. Pretty bitch, keen and intelligent expression, broad skull with good stop, balanced angulation where nothing was overdone or exaggerated. Well sprung ribs, strong hind quarters, correct tail type and set and nice feet. Moved as one with her handler and covered the ground well. BOB

2nd Bishops Trewinnard Vero into Demadon

15 month old black dog. A well-balanced boy, Soft and keen expression, broad skull, good shoulders, straight front, good topline, strong and muscular rear assembly, correct tail set and type. Moved smoothly around the ring and was unlucky to meet the winner.

3rd Jones’ Serengoch’s Calistoga

 6 month old liver/chocolate dog. At his first show this cheeky chap made me smile when he entered the ring. Sound construction, balanced, spring of rib, moved free and true and looked like he was enjoying his day BPIB Delighted to note he gained Gundog Puppy G3

1st Perkins McFarwin’s Grey Legacy by Keeninspires

 16 month old yellow male. I note a litter mate to SY winner. Strong, substantial boy who made his handler work hard. Kind expression, dark eye, broad skull, clean neck, good front with plenty of depth to chest, well barrelled ribs, strong loin, strength of muscle at rear, correct tail type and set.

2nd Goodwins Carpenny Frieda

5 year old yellow bitch. Smaller in body than winner, another well balanced bitch, good angulations, straight front, good depth brisket, correct tail type and set, movement not as crisp as winner

2nd Bishops Chyanhal Pendray in Trendlewood

3 year old black bitch. Kind eye and sweet expression, Balanced front, good depth of chest and well sprung ribs, correct tail set and type, very happy girl with ever wagging tail. She fully enjoyed her time in the ring but was a tad exuberant on the move.

18 month old black/tan dog. Nice breed typical refined head, dark eye, correct ear set, long and muscular neck, clean shoulders, pleasing square outline, strong bone and correct topline, covered ground strongly.

2nd Jones’ Truly Mine Teddie (Imp France)

2 year old black dog. Nice head showing pleasing chiselling, dark eye, finer in bone than winner, well balanced, straight forelegs, correct topline. A little unsettled on the move today.

1st Edwards Afterglow Bang Tidy

6 year old black dog. Pleasing head, dark eye, correct ear set, clean and long neck into good clean shoulders, slightly longer body than limit winner, deep and well sprung ribs, strong and short loin, strong bone and correct topline. His clean movement won out in the challenge. BOB

 9 month old golden bitch. Cheeky and happy puppy, ever wagging tail. Pretty face, square muzzle, dark eye, correct ear set, good overall construction, kept topline well. A little excitable on the move but when settled moved briskly with drive. BOB BPIB

2nd Brintons Eddeswarren Ruby Slippers

17 month old black/tan bitch. Very pretty bitch, kind eye and expression, square muzzle, correct ear set, straight and well angled front, good depth chest, tended to drop topline, nicely settled on the move and covered the ground well. Would prefer more rear angulation.

23 month old blue/roan bitch. Kind eye and expression, correct ear set, Straight front, good spring of ribs, held topline on the move, strong rear. A little unsettled on the move.

8 month old tri-colour bitch. Pretty markings, good stop, correct ear set, straight front assembly, balanced throughout showing nice angulation, correct topline which held on the move. Would prefer slightly darker eye colour. BPIB

3 year old liver/white dog. Substantial, fully mature dog. Dark eye, correct muzzle length, correct ear set, straight front, good depth brisket, liked his body height/length ratio. Covered ground well with drive and presence but would like to have seen him move at slightly slower pace. BOB

1st Harding’s Kingsmist Remember Me (JW)

2 year old liver dog. Beautifully chiselled breed typical head, clean neck, superb lay of shoulder leading to correct front and straight legs with all important flat bone. Balanced throughout body, strong loin, well-muscled rear allowing the exact drive I was looking for and held topline on the move. Not yet fully mature, what a picture he will be when he gets there. BOB Delighted to note he gained Gundog G2

2nd Harnett’s Redeswell Sweet Serendipity

22 month old black bitch. Such a pretty head and sweet expression, good lay of shoulder, straight front, flat bone, coat in gleaming condition, moved with ease holding her topline and thoroughly enjoying her time in the ring, unlucky to meet the winner.

3rd Prews Redeswell Albus Allure

1st Prews Kingsmist Queen of Hearts at Redeswell

4 year old liver bitch. Two litter mates in this class with very different outlines. Pretty head, low ear set, pronounced occiput, clean neck, good front, flat bone, tight feet. Held topline well and moved with ease.

2nd Harding’s Kingsmist The Black Knight

4 year old black dog. Strong, substantial boy who gave his handler a hard time on occasion. Another beautiful/handsome head, good length muzzle, low ear set, dark eye. Good front, flat bone, deep brisket, strength at rear and hold topline on the move. Shown in gleaming coat and hard condition.
