City of Cambridge & County Canine Society Open show Saturday 20th July 2024 Held at Littleport Leisure Centre.
Many thank to the officers and committee for their invitation to judge at this well organised and friendly show. Many thanks to all of the exhibitors for the honour of their entries.
Micheal Quinney Memorial Stakes classes,
AV Puppy Stakes (47,22abs) Lovely class to judge, so many lovely puppies with good potential, sadly some had to go cardless, I based my choice on Balance, Movement and Soundness and was really happy with my winners, all of which showed good breed type and conformation, they were very sound on the move and many went on to get well placed in the groups.
1. Leech’s Mileoak Hubble Bubble, Newfoundland, Masculine, well balanced black dog nice head and correct bite, good depth of chest and spring of rib. Well placed shoulder and upper arm, moved soundly with good front extension and rear drive, glad to see he won the Working puppy group.
2. Cooke & Hammon’s GSP Seasham Jingle Jangle, Lovely very smart dog moved soundly and showed really well, very good overall conformation and a good specimen of the breed.
3. Moss’s Afterglow Kaptain Krunch At Cariajo, Black Toy Poodle, Very charismatic and showy toy poodle, groomed to perfection and so well balanced, moved soundly with style. Beautifully balanced in outline. Please to see it go on to win the Utility Puppy group and Reserve Best Puppy in Show.
A.V Special Beginners (39, 25abs) What a lovely class to judge so many new exhibitors full of enthusiasm and promise, good luck to them all in their future showing. Good presentation and handling were lovely to see today.
1. Proctor’s Patranella Perfick Bliss, English Springer Spaniel bitch, well balanced, lovely breed type, good top line and tail set, moved really well with extension and drive, very sound and true on the move. Well handled and presented, very eye catching, lovely shape.
2. Pullen’s Meadowbears Master Of Music 5-year-old Old English Sheepdog, beautifully presented and well handled, lovely breed type, good body and depth of chest, nice topline and ibn very good coat. Moved soundly and covered the ground well.
3. Taylor-Kistner’s Merry Cocktails Spice Of Life At Frieljoanipa (Imp Swe).
Chinese Crested
Puppy (1), Piper’s Miatory Split Decision For Zanjero, stood alone in this class 11-month-old Mahogany & Cream, very smart, correct bite, nice head and expression, good depth of chest and spring of rib, slightly longer in back, Lovely clear skin and beautiful feathering in fabulous condition. Moved soundly and showed well. Best Puppy in Breed Nice to see him placed 2nd in the puppy Toy group.
Junior (1), 1. Bartlett’s Exotic Spirit undercover of the Darkness, Grey Powder puff, well balanced nice head with a correct bite, good length of neck with a well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm. Moved well with extension and drive. Stood alone in this class, but was placed 2nd in the postgraduate class for his overall balance and sound movement. Beautifully presented.
Post Graduate (4), 1. James-Parker’s Pinot Grigio Gattaca (ImpPol) Mature 8 year old Mahogany & Cream Dog well balanced throughout, nice head and eye, good length of neck going into a fair lay of shoulder and level topline. Moved well. RBOB. Lovely to see him get 3rd in the Veteran Toy Group.
2. Bartlett’s Exotic Spirit undercover of the Darkness. (1stJunior)

Open (5) Bartlett’s Michadaine Crazy for You ShCm VW, Mature Grey Powder Puff, with very good overall conformation and balance, nice head, eye, ear set and carriage with a correct bite, in great condition for almost 10 years of age, powered around the ring with good forward extension and rear drive. A joy to watch on the move. So well presented and handled. BOB.
2. James-Parker’s Shumllea A Saint She Aint VW, almost 10 year old Cream Powder puff bitch, well turned out with a good head and correct bite, well balanced in profile with a good eight of neck leading into a well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm, nice front assembly, level topline with a good tail set and carriage, moved well.
3. Eaton’s Chestnutcres Sun Beam.

Puppy (5) Carter’s Graycaz On A Misson, Hound Tri very well balanced dog, lovely head with good ear set and carriage, dark eye, correct bite, well balanced in outline with a level topline, good body condition and a good tail set and carriage, moved soundly. Best Puppy & RBOB, nice to see him place 3rd in the Toy group and the RBOB Toy stakes.
2. Davidson-Poston’s Spinillons Rebel Alliance, very pretty Hound Tri bitch with a nice head, ear set and carriage, well balanced with a good topline and good chest for age, nice shoulder and length of upper arm. Moved well.
3. Last’s Lastayla Hocus Pocus.
Junior (3,1abs) Davidson-Poston’s ROM Ch/Rom Grand Ch Elena Koleckcja Szuwarka Spinillons JW Club JR Ch (IKC)Well bodied Tri bitch, nice balance, good depth & width of chest, good front and shoulder placement, level top line with a good tail set and carriage. Moved well. BOB.
2. Last’s Lastayla Hocus Pocus, feminine red sable and white bitch, nice head and ear carriage, level top line with a good tail set and carriage, moved well.
Post Graduate (1) 1. Nash’s Ookiimimi Serenity, 20-month-old red sable and white bitch, nicely made, Almond eyes, good bite, carried her ears well, level top line with a good tail set and carriage. Moved well.
Open (5,1abs) 1. Davidson-Poston’s Ch/Multi Ch/Rom GR Ch Sky Butterfly Elven Cron Prince Spinillons ShCEx SK Winners23 (ImpRus)Well balanced Tri Dog with good head, ear set, correct bite well bodied, good tail set and carriage, moved well.
2. Nash’s Ookiimimi Quicksilver Feminine B/W bitch, lovely shape and well bodied, good shoulder placement and length of upper arm, level top line and good tail set.
3. Diprose’s Lilacrose Touch Of Talent.
Irish Wolfhound
Lovely breed to judge they have a really commanding appearance and I love the graceful movement of these large strongly built dogs. Only three to judge but a good quality entry.

Post Graduate (2) Crosse’s Rainster Evie, well bodied grey female, nice head with a good eye and strong jaw, good shoulder placement, good depth of chest and spring of rib, well boned, she had a very gentle and friendly nature. Moved well. RBOB.
2. Addingtons’ Wolvebrigg Ash, caught my eye when he entered the ring, really liked this grey boy for balance and shape, he had a good topline, well laid shoulder and good length of upper arm, masculine head and really good front and rear angulation, good depth and breadth of chest, nice topline and really sound throughout, lighter and more graceful in type than 1. But stunning, sadly he would not be handled, found out later that he was sired by my BOB.
Open (1) 1. Addingtons’ Wolfhouse Herbie Hancock of Wolvebrigg (IMP DNL), Masculine Grey dog lovely shape and balance, good strong masculine head with a nice dark oval eye, correct bite, strong underjaw, long, strong well muscled neck leading unto a well laid shoulder with a good length of upper arm. Good depth of chest and spring of rib, firm strong loin, strong straight forelegs held well under the body with good pasterns and well angulated rear quarters. Covered the ground well with a lovely smooth gait. BOB and pleased to see him get 4th in the hound group.
Whippet
My first appointment in Whippets since passing the MCE and breed appreciation day. I had a lovely entry and was very pleased with my winners, I am grateful to the exhibitors for their entries and sportsmanship.
Puppy (3) 1. Rochford’s Velandor Mr Jingles, well balanced blue fawn, with a good outline, nice head, ear shape, eye and bite with nice shoulder placement and upper arm, good depth of chest for age, well ribbed back with a strong arched loin, good tail set and length. Nice feet and good pasterns, moved soundly and covered the ground well. Well handled and presented. Best Puppy, glad to see him win the Puppy Hound Group.
2. Aldrige’s Selinko Arabella At Pondiver, Black and white feminine bitch, nice head, correct ears and dark eyes. Good topline on the move, moved well but not as well as my first place.
3. Royle & Fricke’s Chiendetom Giojoso.
Junior (2,1abs) 1. Earnshaw’s Palmik I Know What I Like At Moonshadow, Stood alone in this class, but really deserved his placing. Black Masked fawn brindle, lovely shape and balance, masculine without coarseness, nice head with a correct bite, well placed rose ears, good topline and depth of chest, elbows held in with nice straight well boned forelegs, nice feet, good rear angulation and a well set tail of good length. He moved really well today and is maturing nicely.
Post Graduate(7,2abs) Hills’ Shimmeree Calico’s Cupid, quality, very feminine, well balanced blue bitch, lovely shape standing, nice head, eye, bite and ears, so pretty. Good front, nicely laid shoulder and corresponding upper arm, good depth of chest, good length of tail, nice feet. Moved well to win this class and a real eye-catching bitch. But lost out in the challenge to a lovely mature dog who out moved her and had a better head carriage and outline. RBOB.
2. Rainsbury’s Shalfleet Chasing The Sun, Brindle and white male, almost 2 years, nice balance overall. Good head, eye and bite, well set ears, balanced front and rear angulation, moved well.
3. Earnshaw’s Palmik I Know What I Like At Moonshadow.
Open (4,1abs) 1. Bass & Hall’s-Shalfleet New Moon Rising At Silverfrith, Fawn Parti coloured male, mature and very well balanced with a lovely outline, correct top line, good front, depth of chest, spring of rib, good tuck up, good fill in front, nice feet, strong pasterns, good muscle tone throughout in wonderful condition. Good head, eye, correct bite and rose shaped ears, just so well balanced and well made. Was pleased to award him BOB and happy to see him get 3rd in the Hound group.
2.Royle & Fricke’s Chiendetom Andante, 7-year-old fawn and white dog, masculine, good shape and nice topline. In good condition, moved well.
3. Pye’s Blusteren Midnight Ink At Perromono.
