Handling

Junior Handling 6-11 years (4,2)

1. Georgina, handling a Beagle. Good handling skills, didn’t break the golden rule and made sure her dog stood well at all times. Good tablework and showed bite correctly. Couldn’t answer my question. Correct pace for the dog on the move. Best Junior Handler.

2. Iona Gregory, handling a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Today her dog did not want to cooperate but she tried hard. Answered my question correctly. A bit more practice is needed in pattern work.

Junior Handling 12-16 years (0)

Adult Handling 17-45 years (6,0)

1. Andrea Keepence-Keyte, handling a Tibetan Spaniel. A very polished handler who presented her dog perfectly at all times. Answered my questions correctly and showed bite. On the move they were flawless, never broke the golden rule, hand changes were smooth, lines were straight and corners tight. Best Adult Handler.

2. Maxine Proudler, handling an English Cocker Spaniel. A very close second. Another handler who did a great job with her young dog, giving them lots of positive encouragement. Great tablework and shadowing, just slightly less precise on the move than 1.

Adult Handling 46+ years (8,5)

1. Debra Kay, handling a Jack Russell Terrier. Excellent handler, who performed very well, reassuring her dog throughout. Bite shown and question answered correctly. Kept an eye on my position at all times and shadowed without exaggeration. Pushed very hard for Best Handler.

2. Shiobhan Lea, handling a Border Collie. Another class where the top spots could have changed on another day. Correctly showed me the bite and answered my question. On the move, turns were not quite as clean as first.
