WOLSINGHAM AND WEAR VALLEY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY

8TH SEPTEMBER 2024

I’d like to thank Cath Leighton and the committee of Wolsingham show for inviting me to judge a number of breeds and congratulate them on both their entry and also their ability to cope with somewhat challenging weather conditions on the day.

BOSTON TERRIER

PG 3(1)

1. Rowell’s Jayneze Miss Winnipeg among Clovipop. Just preferred the movement of 1 on the day, good head proportions, well set ears, good reach of neck, powerful shoulders, as much back length as I would like but impressive on the move.

2. Winrow’s Jayneze Miss Eleanor. Nice feminine head, good overall proportions, correct top-line, light footed gait.

O 2(1)

1. Winrow’s Jayneze Hubber Bubber. 2 year old male, good head, well set ears, nice shoulder, correct top-line, impressive ground covering gait, BOB.

BEDLINGTON TERRIER

J 5(2)

1. Ross/Creggan’s Mactufts Gentleman’s Game. Preferred the overall movement of 1 on the day, although short on coat absolutely sound on the move, well handled and presented, BP.

2. Wilkinson’s Maristella Miitena among Durhamiites. Nice proportions, good head and expression, well angulated rear, good reach of neck, a little close behind on the out and back on the day.

3. Bussey’s Maristella Maeve.

PG 5(1)

1. Ross/Creggan’s Mactufts Kindred Spirit. Very well handled and presented 4 year old bitch, balanced angulation, correct feminine head, absolutely sound on the move.

2. Wilkinson’s Raphelyans Unzipped In Time. Not quite the movement of 1 but correct shoulders, good turn of stifle and shown in good coat and condition.

3. Ainsley’s Rapharnis Mister Versace.

O 6(2)

1. Ross/Creggan’s Mactufts Nanny McPhee. Very well handled and presented bitch, correct feminine head, good front assembly, nice turn of stifle, correct croup, out-moved the class, BOB.

2. Ainsley’s Raphelyans Miss Armani at Rapharni. Correct overall balance but carried her tail high on the move which spoilt the overall impression.

3. Bussey’s Trevelyans Unzip You Got The Look.

BEARDED COLLIE

P 1(0)

1. Leckenby’s Kiltondale Kisses of Fire at Briaryburn. Delightful 10 month old bitch shown in full puppy coat and in excellent condition, correct head, well angulated fore and aft, level top-line, absolutely sound on the move, BP.

J 1(0)

1. Leckenby’s Kiltondale Kisses of Fire at Briaryburn. Repeat.

PG 2(1)

1. Burgon’s Corimist Caissa at Lyngem JW. 2 year old bitch, nice feminine head, excellent angulation front and rear, strong top-line, absolutely sound on the move and very impressive in profile, her adult coat is yet to fully come through, BOB.
