Bernese Mountain Dog Open (4,1)

1. King, Fortonpark Class Designer, BOB & Grp3

A 4 year old male in his prime with a fabulous temperament. Lovely size, substance and well balanced, in good coat of correct jet back with a slight wave in texture. Strong masculine head and expression, which is nicely balanced with flat skull and stop. Nice eye shape of correct dark brown. Muscular neck leading to good layback of shoulder and upper arm. Well ribbed with good depth of chest and topline. Strong hind quarters with decent bend of stifle with well let down strong hocks. Forelegs were straight when standing with flexible pasterns. Excellent movement in profile with good forward reach and drive from behind. Was a touch wide when moving towards me but straight behind. 

2. King, Bernershaw It Must Be Love

Another 4 year old male, with a lovely temperament. Eye catching lad of very good size and substance, in very good coat of correct jet black. Appealing strong head and expression with nice eye shape of good colour. Muscular neck leading to good shoulder placement. Correct depth of chest with nice spring of ribs, level top line and correct tail set. Strong hind quarters with good hocks, straight when viewed from behind, as were the forelegs when viewed from front, finished with lovely shaped feet. Movement in profile nicely balanced just didn’t quite have the forward reach or drive of the winner.

Boxer Open (6,3)

1. Thomson, Bugarivo Fenice, BOB

3 year old brindle bitch in excellent muscular condition with good substance, size and outline. Feminine outlook with appealing head and expression. Eyes of good size, colour with correct placement and pigmentation. Good ear set. Strong muscular neck of correct length leading to good shoulder placement and correct depth of chest and spring of rib. Decent topline and hind angulation though could do with a touch more angle in stifle. Straight front and correct shaped feet well arched. Moved very well with excellent forward reach and drive, straight fore and aft which won her bob.

2. Thomson, Bugarivo A Modo Nostro 

A very eye catching 4 year old red fawn and another in excellent muscular condition. Looks to have a very good head and expression. Nicely balanced, nothing out of proportion, eyes well placed of correct shape, colour, finished off with correct pigmentation giving her a very appealing and feminine expression. Good ear set and strong muscular neck of correct length leading good shoulder placement, depth of chest with correct spring of rib. Nice top line with correct tail set. Very good hind angulation and strong hocks. Straight front with correct shaped, well arched feet. Movement was rather untidy on the day but did move good reach and drive.

Doberman Open (5,2)

1. Lilburn, Kenynten Back To Square One, BOB

A 4 year old bitch with a very good outline and correct substance of good size. Very feminine in head and expression, with a well balanced head of good length. Flat skull with parallel head planes and flat cheeks. Almond shaped eye, obliquely set of correct colour and pigmentation giving her a very enquiring expression. She has a long muscular neck leading to a good shoulder placement with correct depth of chest and nice spring of rib. Firm straight topline, with correct high tail set. Good muscular hind angulation, firm hocks. Front straight with good pasterns and well arched feet of correct shape. Today she didn’t feel comfortable with her lead but when she settled she moved very well, with very good forward reach and drive, straight fore and aft. Held her top line well.

2. Chamberlin, Manzart Harliequinn 

A 13th month bitch with a very feminine outlook. A nicely balanced Bitch of good size and substance. Lovely head and expression of good length and correct balance, level head planes with almond obliquely set dark brown eye and correct pigmentation. Neck muscular of good length, leading to decent shoulder placement, good depth of chest and spring of rib. Decent rear angulation, well muscled with straight hocks. Movement nicely balanced, held her top line and straight for and aft, just didn’t quite have the forward reach and drive of the winner.

Rottweiler Post Graduate (2)

1. Bunton, Seittor Look Of Love

Masculine 2 year old male. Very good size and substance with excellent outline and balance. Very masculine head and expression, broad skull, correct length and proportions. Well placed eye of good shape and dark brown with correct pigmentation. Strong muscular neck of good length leading to very good layback of shoulder and upper arm to match. Good depth of chest and spring of rib with correct topline. Good tail set, excellent hind angulation with strong muscular thighs and well let down strong hocks. Straight fore legs with well arched feet of good shape. Moved very well in profile, with excellent drive and forwards reach. Straight in front but rather untidy in rear movement on the day. 

2. Deas, Bugarivo Von Zulu Elimnyama BPIB & PG1 

A quality 8 month old bitch, losing out to 1 on maturity. A very promising youngster with a good outline, well balanced and substance for age. Feminine head and expression, good broad skull , nicely balanced of correct length and nicely proportioned to her body. Neck nicely muscled for her age of good length. Excellent layback of shoulder with upper arm to match, good depth of chest and spring of rib for age. Level topline with correct tail set. Excellent hind angulation with good muscular thighs and well let down strong hocks. Straight fore legs, nicely arched feet of good shape. When settled she moved very well with excellent forward reach and drive from behind, straight for and aft. 

Rottweiler Open (4,1)

1. Bunton, Seittor Moment In Time BOB 

A 4 year old male of good substance, size and correct bone. Masculine expression, fairly broad skull, nicely balanced head, eye of correct colour and placement, good pigmentation. Neck of a good length, strong and muscular leading to good layback of shoulder with upper arm to match, correct depth of chest and good spring of ribs. Straight top line and correct tail set. Good hind angulation with muscular thighs and well angled hocks. Moved very well with good drive and forward reach and straight for and aft.

2. Bunton Jacraila Valdemar

A 5 year old imposing male. A very muscular balanced dog, he has a masculine expression, good broad skull which is nicely proportioned to the whole of the dog. Good eye shape, well placed and correct dark brown. Very muscular neck of decent length leading a good shoulder placement and excellent depth of chest and spring rib. Straight topline with good hind angulation with excellent muscled thigh and good hocks. Movement was balanced but lack the enthusiasm of the winner.

1. Duff, Titanbears Excommunicado BPIB & PG2

A 7 month boy nice for size and substance for his age, nicely balanced with good outline. Masculine well proportioned head with lovely expression, correct eye shape and placement, dark brown and correct pigmentation. Good length of neck leading to excellent layback of shoulder and upper arm to match. Good depth of chest and spring of rib for age. Level top line leading to a good length of tail. Very good hind angulation, nicely muscled for age, very good strong well let down straight hocks. Moved very well. Held his top line well, nice drive and forward reach.

2. Duff, Titanbears Redemption 

Litter sister to the winner and many similar comments apply. Has a very feminine outlook, again good head shape for age, lovely neck and good shoulder placement. Not quite as developed in chest as her brother. Level topline good tail length and very good hind angulation with well let down strong straight hocks. Moved very well in profile, with lovely drive and forward reach, a touch wider in front than brother. 

Newfoundland Open (1)

1. Drew, Titanbears Vainglorious JW SHCEX OWS BOB & Grp1

Handsome fella. Mature 3 year old male, good for size and decent substance, excellent outline and balanced. Very good head and expression. Head nicely proportioned of good strength and depth of skull. Lovely dark eye which is well placed of good size and correct pigmentation all giving him a masculine, intelligent expression. Strong neck of good length leading to very good layback of shoulder and excellent upper arm to match giving him the desired depth of chest and spring of rib. Good level topline which he also held while moving. Tail of good length and correctly set. Very good hind angulation, strong well muscled thighs, well let down strong and straight hocks. Front legs straight with large well shaped feet. Moved very well, straight behind, slightly wide in front. In profile he moved with excellent forward reach and drive coving the ground well with easy long strides which impressed me enough to award him group 1. And pleased to see him ultimately awarded reserve Best In Show. 

Great Dane (4)

A lovely class where all four present were of excellent type and quality.

1. Allison & Liddell, Loretosmoorikin By Gretadane BOB & Grp4

A very handsome 3 year old mature dog, fabulous outline, good size and excellent substance giving him a noble appearance. Head well balanced of good length and strength. Flat skull, medium size eye, well placed, of good colour and correct pigmention. Well arched, muscular neck of good length leading to excellent layback of shoulder and upper arm to match. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Correct topline, tail well set of good length. Excellent hind angulation, muscular thighs, good bent of stifle, straight and strong hocks. Straight front, excellent feet with well arched toes. Moved very well in profile with good drive and forward reach, coving the ground well. Straight in front a touch wide behind on the day. 

2. Allison & Liddell, Ch Gretadane Honey Suckle. BVIG 

I’m not surprised this veteran bitch is a champion, she oozes quality in abundance. Excellent outline, elegance with strength. Lovely head and expression, showing her age now in the muzzle. Well balanced of good length and strength. Well shaped eye, nicely set of good dark brown and correct pigmentation. Excellence length of neck which is muscular leading to a very good layback of shoulder and upper arm to match, allowing her to have the correct depth of chest and spring of ribs. Straight forelegs with nicely shaped feet still, with well arch toes. Strong and straight topline, excellent hind angulation with well muscled thighs with Straight hocks. On the day she would have preferred to have been chilling on her sofa rather than moving but once she got into her stride she had a good forward reach and drive behind.

Leonberger Open (2,1)

1. Ross, Debbollinby Le Mans, BOB

Handsome 3 year old dog, of nice size and decent substance. In lovely coat of good harsh texture. Appealing head and expressive, nicely balanced of good length. Eye a good size and shape, of good colour and well placed. Good strong neck of decent length leading to excellent layback of shoulder and upper arm to match. Good depth of chest and spring of ribs. Pasterns on the weaker side. Good topline, tail a good length. Nice hind angulation with muscular thighs, straight strong hocks. Moved very well in profile, with good forward reach and drive, straight behind. 

AV WORKING NSC (2,1)

1. Odennell, Kalaslane Revenge for Neukiebear (IKC) SHCEX BNSC & Grp2 

A 5 year Russian Black Terrier who is a sturdy well balance bitch. In very nice coat of good texture. Head looks well balanced, flat skull, Parallel head planes, fairly broad in back skull. Decent length of neck, muscular, leading to a nice layback of shoulder, very good upper arm and a good depth of chest and spring of ribs, straight forelegs,large feet, toes well arched. Level topline with good length of tail. Very good hind angulation with muscular thighs and good bend of stile with well let strong straight hocks. Moved very well in profile, nicely balanced with good drive and forward reach, covering the ground well. Straight front and behind.

Neck of good length, well muscled leading to good layback of shoulder and nice upper arm. Very good depth of chest with excellent spring of ribs. Straight forelegs, with excellent shaped feet and well arched toes. Very good topline with nice tail set and good hind angulation, with muscular thighs, well bent stile and well angled hocks. Moved very well in profile with good forward reach and drive from behind. Moved straight fore and aft.
