Thank you to all at Tay Valley Gundog for their kind invitation to Judge a couple of lovely breed classes Retriever (Golden) & Retriever (Labrador) and for their kind hospitality.  A special thank you to all the exhibitors who gave me a lovely entry of quality dogs & bitches  and for accepting my placings on the day. Many thanks to my steward Fiona for keeping the ring running smoothly and a special thank you to Good- Life Farming for providing a lovely gluten free lunch.

1st Macleod, Miss Fiona, BLUEBRAES BIDEY IN AT ROCAMAR

Mid Golden boy 17 month old, masculine head well chiselled in proportion not overdone, dark eyes and dark pigment. Strong clean length of neck into well laid shoulders, Good topline and tail set. Short coupled well sprung deep ribs. Straight forelegs, ample amount of bone and length. He stands on good round catlike feet. Good coat and good feathering. Moved well around the ring keeping a good topline. 

2nd McDonald, Miss Mandy, LAMANCHA TAKE A CHANCE JW

 Golden 23 month old, masculine head nicely chiselled with dark browns eyes showing a kindly expression, he has a good length of neck. His forelegs are straight with ample length of leg, close fitting elbows, nice strong bone and good round cat like feet. Shown in excellent condition with good coat, moved soundly around the ring coming back to a good stance.

1st (BD) LAW, MRS Elizabeth, SANDTI BACK OF THE NET 

Mid Golden nearly 3 years of age, nice clean outline on this boy presented in good coat and condition. Balanced throughout from head to tail. Lovely masculine head and gentle kind expression. He has a good length of neck set into well laid shoulders and firm topline. Straight front, Short coupled, deep chest giving him plenty of heart room, well sprung deep ribs, good width of thighs ample length of leg and good round catlike feet, moved out well keeping a good topline and carrying his tail level with his back.

1st Wallis, Mrs Katrina & Mr Adrian Wallis, LAMANCHA ROLL ON GOOD TIMES

Pale Golden boy coming up to 4 years of age, First thing that took my eye was his overall balance, he is broad in skull but well balanced with foreface, he has good chiselling and dark pigment, correct colour eye and kindly expression. Good length to his neck into well laid shoulders, his ribs are deep and well sprung and he has a good width of thighs and well bent stifles, ample length of leg, good feet and coat. Moved well covering all ground.

2nd Warden, Mrs A R, NOBLEMAN TAK THE HIGH ROAD TO GLENTOCHTY

Mid Golden rising 7 years of age, very attentive with his handler, masculine head dark brown eyes and well set ears, good straight front with ample bone, enough depth of chest and spring of rib. Firm over the loin, well bent stifles, good round catlike feet, moved straight and true around the ring.

 Golden  6 1/2 years of age, another nice boy gentle masculine head with clean reach of neck flowing into a good topline and tail set.  Good coat and feathering, nicely balanced with good front and rear angulation, well bent stifles ample bone standing on good round catlike feet. Moved well just preferred the movement of one today.

1st (BPIB- BIS) Clarkson, Mrs Fiona, DRUMKILTY NOLLAIG SHONA

Pale Golden 7 1/2 month old, what a beautiful quality bitch she is so well balanced from head to tail everything in proportion for one so young. Lovely feminine head with super pigment, dark rims and browns eyes showing her kindly expression. Good clean length of neck into well laid shoulders, level topline with good set on tail. Her forelegs are straight with good bone, nice round cat like feet. She has good fore and aft angulations, short coupled, well sprung ribs. Show in good coat with enough feathering for her age. Excelled on movement taking everything in her stride, she carried her tail level with her back moving straight and true around the ring. Pleased to award her BPIB so pleased i waited until the end of the show to see her win BPIS. Certainly one to watch for the future.

2nd Campbell, Miss Suzy & Kirsteen Robertson, MILLIEMAGS SHE'S A RAINBOW

Mid Golden 7 month old, lovely young bitch a little unsettled at first but then came into her own once she had moved around the ring. Showing a sweet kindly expression with a lovely feminine head but not over done, just right for her age, she has good dark brown eyes and rims, decent length of leg and she stands on good round catlike feet, Shown in good condition with a lovely coat and feathering moved ok.

SPECIAL YEARLING BITCH (3 2a)

1st Lochhead, Mr Peter, KAYLATON HEIDI WEISS

Mid Golden approaching 2 years of age. Standing all alone in her class today. She has a sweet feminine head nicely chiselled but not over done, dark brown eyes and rims showing her kindly soft expression, Good length of neck, shoulders well back, deep ribs and well sprung giving her plenty of heart room, moved well carrying her tail level with her back. Would of preferred tighter  round feet.

POST GRADUATE BITCH (4 2a)

1st Carlton, Miss Louise, FHAIRMHOR MOONLIGHT SONTANA AT THISTLEGATE

Mid Golden 3 year old, lovely feminine head good length of neck flowing into a firm topline, set on tail . Straight front, good depth of chest and well ribbed back, good width to hindquarters ample length of leg with good catlike feet. Good coat and feathering moved well keeping a good topline and carrying tail level with her back.

2nd Macdonald, Miss Mandy, LAMANCHA TANGO JW

Darker Golden girl approaching 2 years of age nicely presented in good flat coat and condition. Very attractive head with good pigment, good length of neck clean and muscular balanced front and rear, she has enough length of leg with ample bone standing on good round neat cat like feet. Moved well coving all ground. Preferred the tail set on one.

1st (BB-BOB) Clarkson, Mrs Fiona DRUMKILTY YOURS TRULY JW

Pale Golden bitch 2 years 4 month old, super confirmation on this bitch, Nicely balanced throughout with everything in proportion from head to tail. She has the most beautiful balanced and well chiselled head and kindly expression,  dark brown eyes with super pigment to rims, her neck is of good length set into well laid shoulders with equal return of upper arm, Short coupled well sprung deep ribs, her legs placed well under her body with tight fitting elbows. Good width to her thighs, well bent stifles and her hocks are well down standing on good round catlike feet. She moved straight in front and rear carrying her tail level with her back. Shortlisted for BIS.

Mid Golden 5 1/2 years old, another lovely bitch nicely balanced throughout with a lovely feminine head, short coupled level topline and good tail set, ample bone standing on good feet, shown in good coat and moved out well.

1st Hain, Evelynne, FHAIRMHOR WEE MIDDEN AT STRATHAIN

Mid Golden bitch 6 1/2 year old, Feminine head with good length of neck well laid shoulders, Nicely balanced front and rear angulations, good level topline, muscled second thighs good bend of stifles and well lets down hocks, ample length of leg and good feet, shown in good wavy coat with good feathering. Moved out well covering all ground.

2nd Mcdonald, Miss Mandy, LAMANCHA QUESTION THE TRUTH 

Pale Golden bitch 4 years old, presented in super coat and condition, pretty attractive feminine head lovely dark pigment, dark brown eyes and pleasing kind expression, clean reach of neck, well laid shoulders, ample length of leg good round catlike feet. I have judged her before just preferred the movement on one today only.
