Dobermanns

Thank you so much to the committee for the opportunity to judge Dobermanns at your show. It was a pleasure to have so many quality exhibits to judge, it made my choices very difficult. Thank you to all of the exhibitors for allowing me the opportunity to judge your beautiful dogs and for accepting my difficult decisions so sportingly. Last but certainly not least thank you so much to my two wonderful stewards who kept the classes moving.

Puppy (8,2abs)

Wow what fabulous babies I had to go over here, each a credit to their owners.

1st Moss’ Amazon Fever – 9m old Br/r bitch who today made the ring her own. A strong standard sized bitch who is square on the stack. Plenty of bone and substance all through and sporting a very dark jacket. Strong head with good underjaw, almond shaped dark eye and small neat high set ears. Enough length of neck in to a well angulated front assembly. Lovely tight cat-like feet. Good spring of rib with chest to her elbows. Firm topline and enough tuck. Good tailset and rear angulation in balance with her front. This allowed her to move strongly and freely round the ring. Her handler just needs to polish his presentation but I couldn’t deny her the win. BPIB

2nd Cannon’s Sacaria’s Blues – 9m old Br/r dog. Another lovely youngster the boy is square and of standard size. He has ample bone and good substance. He has a lovely masculine head of great length and balance with correct dark almond shaped eye. Strong neck leading to a moderately angulated front end. Enough strength in his topline given his age leading to a moderately angulated rear. Overall he creates a picture of balance but couldn’t match 1st for angulation. Another handler who just needs to brush up a little to get the best out of this boy. Moved well when settled.

Junior (6,0abs)

1st Moss’ Amazon Fever (My 1st in puppy)

2nd Jones’ Supeta’s Waiting For An Alibi From Korifey – Just over a year old this beautiful Br/r bitch is my type. Today just losing out on togetherness which I expect is due to her age. Shown in hard condition with a lovely dark jacket. Less substance all through than one but plenty for a bitch. She is of standard size and has elegant sweeping lines that draw the eye. A feminine head with dark almond shaped eyes and neat ears. Good length of neck leading to excellent front angulation. Chest just needs to drop in to place with time. Strong topline and good tuck. Rear angulation in balance with front. Moved well in all directions, excellently handled.

Post Graduate (4,1abs)

1st Pollard’s Shalissa’s Hot Toddy at Whizzbean – 19m old Bl/r bitch. This is a bitch I have judged and admired before. She has the sharpest of outlines and is feminine but still with substance. She has a good head with the darkest of eye carried by a long neck leading into a well angulated front assembly. She has good spring of rib with elbows lying close to her brisket. Standing on the tightest cat like feet. She has a strong topline and sweeping underline with plenty of tuck. A good croup and tailset with rear angles that balance her front angles. She moved very well in all directions when settled. RBOB

2nd Cannon’s Sacaria’s Blues – 2nd in Puppy

Open (7, 4abs)

Three boys of very different types here, all with much to appreciate about them.

1st Woodhouse’ Ch Jojavik Master Cutler – 4yr old Bl/r dog of fabulous quality. He is on the top end of size but everything is in proportion. Everything about him screams male. He has substance but doesn’t lack elegance. Shown in excellent condition with lovely dark rust markings. He has a strong masculine head with dark almond shaped eye. Strong underjaw, lips could be a little tighter. He has a strong neck of good length without excess throatiness. Well angulated front end and tight cat like feet. Strong topline with a slight rounding to his croup. Well angulated rear with good turn of stifle. He moved extremely well for a dog of his size, I would have loved to have seen him in a large ring. Lovely powerful rotary rear action. This boy really caught my eye today so I was very pleased to award him BOB

2nd Webb & Mullins’ SLO/FED BIH/BIH CH/BIH GCH Protocol’s The Midas Touch (Imp USA) JW – Bl/r dog just shy of 2yrs old. A very different type to 1st and quite the show man with plenty to like. He has a lovely dark eye and a balanced head with good underjaw. Great length of neck into good front angulation. Plenty of bone and substance all through. Strong legs on tight cat-like feet. Short topline and good croup and tailset. Good rear angulation balances him and ensures his side gait is particularly good. Nit picking, his markings could be darker. Handled extremely well getting the best out of him.
