Shropshire Gundog Society

GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTER

PUPPY ( 2,1)

1/ Peebles SEASHAM TOO MUCH HEAVEN 8 month old bitch, not the biggest but her shape is lovely, good reach of neck and well laid shoulder, short back and well shaped hindquarters. Enough bone for her size, she has a very nice head and her eye shape and colour are correct. Well set and carried tail, she moved ok in the tight space , just needs to mature and firm up now which will come. BP

POST GRAD ( 3,1)

1/ Powell HICCUP’S LEAVING A LEGACY. This dog scored on having a better front assembly , he has a well shaped head, masculine enough, good neck and shoulder, enough bone. A shade long in body and topline could be a bit firmer, well set and carried tail. In good body condition with well muscled rear however lacked a bit of drive not helped by size of the ring.

2/ Russell FRAULYNZWAY HAYLEY’S COMET. Many similar comments apply to this bitch, she has a good head shape, good length of neck and well set tail. Another hampered by the ring size.

OPEN ( 2,0)

1/ Russell FRAULYNZWAY LIGHTENING BOLT Lovely head on this boy , liked his size and overall shape, masculine and well constructed all through with good bone and enough substance, showed corresponding topline and underline. Clean moving out and back although hard to assess in profile as he did not have the space to get into his stride. In good condition with well muscled rear BOB

2/ Peebles & Hammond SEASHAM THE GROOVER Another good male, a size smaller than the winner and not quite as well constructed in front but still well balanced showing a clean outline and good overall shape.

RETRIEVER ( CURLY COATED)

POST GRAD ( 3,1)

1/ Evans ROWANCURL BEACHCOMBER Really nice bitch of good type and size showing a breed typical outline and correct coat. Well balanced wedge shaped head with nice eye shape and colour, Good front assembly with correct lay of shoulder and width to her forechest, plenty of depth to her ribs. Good quality bone and tight feet. Well muscled, she moved OK in the space available. BOB

2/ Gill & Peake RAVENHO MIDNIGHT MIRACLE AT SAXONHOLME . Not so well balanced in head as winner, she has enough bone and correct coat. Just a bit narrow all through and not quite sound on her backend to day.

OPEN (3,2)

1/ Evans KUKKASEN KEITA BY CABALLUS . Nice bitch who is mature in body showing plenty of depth from well sprung ribs. Another with a very good head and eye shape and correct coat. Good reach of neck and shoulder , just a fraction steep in upper arm, well boned with tight feet. Moved OK but difficult to assess in the space. Just preferred front on her daughter when it came to the decision for BOB.
