BRACCO ITALIANO

JUNIOR (1,0)

1/ Warburton OWLSPOINT LOADS OF TROUBLE AT HEBERHOUSE. This 17 month boy is all male, well proportioned head, decent front although could have better upper arm, good depth of chest down to tight elbows, nice underline, well set and carried tail and good muscle tone. He was a bit untidy out and back but showed good stride in profile.

OPEN (1,0)

1/ Warburton WITHAMFRIARY LUSH BLOSSOM AT HEBERHOUSE. Not the biggest bitch, preferred her head to the junior. Good shoulder and upper arm although a bit loose in elbow, good strong hindquarters, moved well in profile and her outline on the move was better when it came to BOB

GSP

JUNIOR (3,0)

1/ Brown MONTALBA MUSTRUM RIDCULLY. Very nice young male with a well proportioned head showing balance between skull and muzzle, nice eye shape and colour, good neck and shoulders, a fraction long in back, plenty depth to his ribcage, well muscled and very clean coming and going and showing a nice stride in profile.

2/ Brown MONTALBA MISS ACHING. Litter sister to 1, many of the same comments apply, not quite so confident as her brother. Lovely head and eye, clean over neck and shoulders. Just preferred outline and more accurate movement of winner today.

3/ Warr & Farrow NAVIGAREAMOR CREDO IN TE

OPEN (1,0)

1/ Brown MONTALBA MISTER TEATIME. Good honest dog, no exaggerations here. Nice size and showing balance in outline, well proportioned head and good eye shape with soft expression. Front construction correct with good depth to his chest and enough bone. Plenty of muscle and showing a good stride in profile. Similar qualities to junior winner and I see they are half brothers. This male just had the maturity and finish in outline to take BOB and his movement continued to impress later to win the group.

POINTER

All shapes and sizes in this breed and decisions not helped by some dogs being very unsettled by the downpour which lasted throughout their judging and ruined some of my notes.

PUPPY (1,0)

1/ Gordon HAWKFIELD HAPPY TIMES. Nice shape to this puppy bitch, not the biggest, has some bone still to grow on yet. Liked her typical head and expression, feminine all through. A little bit extravagant in her front movement here but showing good drive from a well constructed rear and covered the ground in profile. BP

JUNIOR (4,1)

1/ Bush PIASHARN BREAKING THE LAW. Really nice bitch who wasn’t happy in the conditions. Liked her curvy outline, nice enough head and expression, good neck and shoulders , enough bone and depth to her ribcage. Her movement was positive and she kept her shape going round.

2/ Bush PIASHARN ROCKA POLLA. Litter brother to 1, all male and more upstanding than his sister. Has many of the same attributes, just preferred angulation and steadier movement of the winner.

3/ HAWKFIELD HAPPY TIMES

PG (5,1)

1/ Heaton FREEBREEZE ON LOCATION AT BRACKENSTYLE. Very masculine, upstanding male with lots of presence. Really liked his headshape, good reach of neck and front angulation, well boned legs and good feet. He has a lovely overall shape showing depth of chest and gradual tuck up, good strong hindquarters, he moved out well although tail carriage could have been better. BOB

2/ Nellis FREEBREEZE SPECIAL EFFECTS. Litter sister to first but really unhappy in the heavy rain which affected her performance here. She has a lovely head and good overall shape and I’m sure than on another day she would have given her brother more of a challenge.

3/ Gordon HAWKFIELD BLACK SWAN

OPEN (6,3)

1/ Oddie CHESTERHOPE ONE WAY TICKET. Good honest dog, not the biggest but he is very well balanced and has enough substance. Good over neck and shoulders with good depth to his chest and straight forelegs. He moved out fluently and used his tail well. Just preferred the size and presence of the PG winner when it came to BOB decision.

2/ Mason MORGAN VAN FREEBREEZE. Another good one, lots to like. Nice head and eye although I slightly preferred expression of winner. Sound on the move using her tail well although not quite covering the ground as well as first.

3/ Gordon HAWKFIELD PEMBERLEY

ENGLISH SETTER

PG ( 3, 1)

1/ Forrest ELVISTAR PRIVATE DANCER

Femine blue of good size and proportions, very nice head showing balance and soft expression, neck runs well back into the shoulder, would prefer a bit more forechest and angulation but she is balanced. Well boned legs and good length to the body. A little untidy coming and going but had a good side gait. BOB

2/ Smith LARA FROM VALJEVO GREEN FIELDS OF MEADOWRUSH

Tri bitch with good bone and plenty of coat. Not quite the balance and femininity of winner and could have better front but good overall type.

OPEN ( 2,0)

1/ Forrest WALSHAW ILLUMINATION OVER ELVISTAR

Dark blue bitch, very pretty and of a good size and shape with good bone, she used her tail well on the move carrying herself well but just a tad soft in her topline today. Similar to PG winner but just preferred the overall shape and balance of the younger bitch for BOB

2/ Smith BOURNEHOUSE SECRET SUNSET OF MEADOWRUSH

Orange male of really nice type and size who is sound enough with good bone. Today he was carrying far too much weight which spoiled his shape and movement

IRISH SETTER

JUNIOR (1,0)

1/ Robinson CHERROVALE DREAM COME TRUE

Very pretty youngster who appealed greatly for her balance in outline. Lovely head and eye shape, good neck and front showing forechest, well boned legs and tight feet. She has good length and depth to her body leading to well shaped hindquarters which are not overangulated and a good tail set. Presented in beautiful coat and condition, movement a little untidy in front but showed a good stride in profile. Pleased to award her BOB but disappointed that she didn’t stay for the group.

PG (3,0)

1/ CHERROVALE DREAM COME TRUE

2/ Robinson & Rowbottom LANSTARA RED DRESS AT CHERROVALE.

Dam of the winner and therefore very similar in type , lovely head, good angulation and depth to the body, nice bone and feet. Just found the youngster a bit racier and a bit freer in movement but otherwise not much to separate them, liked her a great deal.

1/ LANSTARA RED DRESS AT CHERROVALE

2/ Walker THENDARA SOUL SISTER.

What a lovely class of babies, very much on the day decisions as they all have quality

Chocolate bitch who shows a very nice balanced outline, plenty of bone and substance but still feminine . Very nice head and eye colour matches her coat, correct tail. Movement a bit more coordinated than 2 at present and just a touch more forward in body development. Lovely type, pleased to award BP

2/ Thompson MEADOWLINE JURISPRUDENCE

Black bitch of just 6 months who has the most gorgeous expression . Love her typical head and correct tail, she just needs time now to come up on her legs a bit and firm up in topline. Liked her very much.

3/ Smith FLYENPYG JURGEN CHOPP

JUNIOR (2,1)

1/ FLYENPYG JURGEN CHOPP

Very nice black male who appealed a lot.Lovely balance to his head with a kind eye, good front angulation, neck runs well back into well laid shoulders and good ribs. Well boned with strong pasterns. Moved well, he just needs to even out and firm up now as he is just a tad bum high at the minute and soft in topline but this should change as he matures.

PG( 6,2)

1/ Smith MEADOWLINE HEARTBREAKER

Substantial black male who is sound and strong all through with a good overall shape and lots of presence. Head and neck a bit heavy, good bone, well sprung ribs and strong hindquarters which allowed him to move out well.

OPEN (2,0)

1/ Smith FLYENPYG PORKI PIG.

Yellow dog with most appealing head and expression. Really well made all through with good bone and feet and well conditioned, correct coat . Very athletic in his overall shape, he is perhaps a fraction long in body but has good depth and spring of ribs. Moved really well with lots of drive from the rear and used his tail well. Lovely outgoing temperament. Preferred his more active movement and cleaner head and neck when it came to award BOB

2/ Gower AUGHTONCHASE HONEY PIE

Yellow bitch who also appealed a great deal, many of the same qualities as 1, a well made, sound mover with a lovely head and eye. Coat just on the blow today but much to like about her.
