Hamilton Canine Club

It was a pleasure to judge my first toy group at Hamilton Canine Club Open Show, a show which I have attended for many years. The quality of the entries was outstanding, and it was encouraging to see such excellent breed type, presentation, and sportsmanship throughout the breeds.

AV Toy Import Register Open (5,1) 1 Slacks Grande Misterio Incanto Heaven Eversbabes (Imp LVA) 2.5-year-old male with lovely head, large ears with plenty of fringing. Good clear tan, depth of chest and level topline. Moved well and covered the ground. BAVTIR 2 Grahams Grande Misterio Jette Dark Saphire Very pretty 12-month-old bitch. Developing nicely this girl has lots of promise. Sweet feminine head of the correct proportions, well set ears and good bite. Daintier than 1 but with more substance she moved ok. 3 Grahams Amber Delis Coorie Doon at Koorimob NAF 4 Grahams Grande Misterio Hebridian at Koorimob

ETT PG (3,2) 1 Inch’s Edalene Upside Down JW 23-month-old masculine male. Presented in excellent condition this male has the correct wedge-shaped head, with well set ears, leading to a well-conditioned body with excellent muscle tone. Nice to see some pencilling which is often absent in this breed. Correct gentle slope in the topline with well set tail. He moved with purpose and style.

ETT Open (4,0) 1 Inchs Edalene Court And Spark JW Ultra feminine compact bitch, with a pretty head of correct proportions, well set ears which she used to her advantage. Good clear tan, with pencilling visible, good depth of chest with straight front leading to compact feet. She owned the ring as she moved out with style. BOB, TG2 2. Bennets Edalene In A Silent Way To Capledrae JW Lovely 3 year old male. More substantial than 1, with correct wedge-shaped head, clear eyes and good bite. Presented in excellent condition. 3. Inchs Edalene Scoops Ahoy 4. Inchs Edalene Never Let Me Go VW BVIB, TVG2

Pug PG (3, 2) 1. Deans, Jobeile An Struithain at Uisdean 7-month-old exuberant fawn male, lots to like about this young male, up to size with a masculine head and strong neck. Cobby and square he was well muscled, moving out with reach and typical roll in his hindquarters. One to watch for the future. BOB, BPIB 2. Mcahils Zobear Bumblebee at Drachenfel (NAF) 5-year-old compact fawn bitch, nice round head, with well-defined wrinkle and dark eyes. I just preferred the overall shape of the winner.

Pug Open (2,1) 1. Pikes Ch Rhodenash Stella Dreams of Eivisah JW, 6-year-old Fawn bitch of correct size and square shape, compact, cobby and sound with a level topline. Round and proportionate feminine head with clearly defined wrinkle and good pigment. She worked well with her junior handler they made a lovely team.

Japanese Chin Post Graduate (2,0) 1. Lindsays Somergemz I Own Her at Anjuli black and white bitch prettiest of heads and expression with unexaggerated look of astonishment, nicely padded muzzle, good pigmentation. Lovely reach of neck, level topline held on the move, good body with a silky, well-presented coat. BOB 2. Lindsays Anjuli Dave the Rave red and white 7-month-old male, up to size, pleasing head with good cushioning and expressive eyes with typical look of astonishment. A little hesitant on the move. Shown in good order with a silky coat and hare feet. BPIB

Pomeranian Junior (4, 1) 1. Mcalpines Altina Wouldn't It Be Lovely, 11-month-old cream bitch shown in wonderful coat condition. Very feminine head, with correct small ears, nicely balanced for her age with good body and rib, very typical head and lively expression. Harsh double coat. Once settled moved out well with a brisk easy action. BPIB, TPG3 2. Barrs Alexiasdream Lady Larrisa for Degsy well balanced orange 9-month-old bitch, a little unsure on the table she soon settled and, lovely colour and coat texture. Good ears, fine muzzle and keen, alert expression. Sound and very typey on the move. 3. Hillans Vibrek My Snow Baby for Pawfectpoms

Pomeranian Post Graduate (6,1) 1. Ogivies Yoshe Touch of Charm A classy, good quality orange sable bitch, sensible size with a well ribbed, compact body. Attractive head, fine muzzle and good dentition. Good coat. Moved soundly. 2. Nixons Kazpom Don't Let Go JW Compactly built 23-month-old reed male with very good pigmentation and a keen, alert, pleasing expression. Well ribbed with good topline and tailset. Harsh double coat. Moved with a lively, true action. 3. Barrs Coco Chanellady to Degsy 4. Mcdowalls Altina's Martini for Carberry

Pomeranian Open (5,0) 1. Carrigans Poseyhill Sir Isaac Nevwton at Carripom JW Very attractive 2-year-old orange sable male with the prettiest of heads and exquisite expression. Fine muzzle, excellent dentition, fine strong bone and good feet. Well ribbed and compactly built with high set tail with good harsh coat. On the move, his footfall was impressive and he moved with importance and deportment. He was presented and shown to great advantage. BOB TG1 2. Nixons Kazpom No Doubt JW Attractive 23-month-old orange sable male, fine muzzle with correct dentition with clear eyes and excellent pigmentation. Taller than 1 he had fine bone and good feet. Moved out true and with importance, typical pom buoyancy he was most pleasing and a true showman. 3. Mcdowalls Ch Altina's Tudor Rose 4. Ogilvies Yoshe It's Now or Never

Miniature Pinscher Post Graduate (2,0) 1. Allans Allanabru Petite Petale black and tan 2-year-old bitch, very feminine pretty head, with tapered muzzle with correct bite, correct dark eye, well set ears. Good front with good well developed forechest, square in overall proportions, moved well with typical hackney gait. BOB 2. Wilsons Kilmuir Quaint She Ain't at Nianka 2.5-year-old bitch with pleasing head of desired proportions well set ears although could be a fraction smaller. Correct length of neck into well sloped shoulders, good depth of chest good bone and nice tight feet.

Miniature Pinscher Open (3,2) 1. Allans Allanabru Red Alert 2-year-old red male. Nice head shape and good strong jaw. Good dark eye. Good bone and nice tight foot. Well ribbed up. A little distracted initially but when settled moved well with typical hackney gait.

Cavalier king Charles spaniel post graduate (5,1) 1. Hamilton and Hoggs Kringleholme Continental Pleasing 14 month old Blenheim male with a well-balanced skull to muzzle ratio with a gentle outlook. Perfect in size with eye catching outline of the correct proportions. Well developed with deep chest, firm body and correct angulation front and rear. He moved with ideal profile holding a firm topline. Presented and shown to great advantage. BOB 2. Whites Sweetest of All at Carleny 3.5-year-old bitch, finer than 1, with the prettiest of heads. Soft gentle eyes, well filled out under eyes, correct in muzzle with good dentition. Well-placed shoulders and firm topline, Tailset was ok 3. Slacks Dalvreck in Dreams for Eversbabes BVIB 4. Erasers Bracken Gold at Fraskye

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Open (10,2) 1. Finlay-Kirkwoods Ellemich Secret Love at Marisk 18-month-old Blenheim bitch. Well-marked with feminine head and expression with large dark round eyes, high set ears with good feathering, level top-line held true on the move, quality bitch for the future 2. Hamiltons Gwyrthmon Sheslikethewind 2.5-year-old bitch, pretty head, well filled out under eyes, good dentition. Plenty of bone, presented in good coat of the correct texture. More solidly marked than 1 with desired lozenge mark 3. Slacks Kinvaar Jumping Jack Flash at Eversbabes BVIB, TVG3 4. Hamiltons Kilbarchan's Moonwalker

Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) Post Graduate (5,0) 1. Blacks Roovena Pumpkin Patch Pretty chocolate 10-month-old bitch who owned the ring from the moment she stepped into it. Carried herself with deportment beyond her age. Large round eyes, domed skull with ample neck which she used to her advantage. Shoulder well laid, level topline held on the move. Moved out and back with with brisk forceful action BOB, BPIB 2. Silversteins Silverchi Endless Love Smaller than 1, this fawn 16-month-old dog pushed hard at 1. Correct head and bite, with well-spaced ears. Well-sprung ribs and deep brisket, allowing true straight movement out and back. 3. Conways, Silverchi Dixie Darling 4. Kerrs Silverchi Island Dreaming From Rhinns

Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) Open (2,0) 1. Silversteins Silverchi Moani Lisa 23-month-old parti-coloured bitch, most pleasing head with well set ears which she used to her advantage. Moved with reach and drive. 2. Kerrs Rhinns Jazz Blues 3-year-old cream male, with nice expression, smaller eyes than 1, good dentition, straight front, good body and rear angulation with well let down hocks.

Chihuahua (Long Coat) Post Graduate (9,3) 1. Russells Chirouxe Moonage Daydream 3-year-old red bitch, dainty, swift moving and compact, very happy and confident. Good skull and ears with expressive eye, good muzzle and correct dentiton. Arched, moderate neck, good body. Very swift moving with a typical sound action. Handled to best advantage. BOB 2. Hunters Jotolemar Evie Time for Fun fawn sable 18-month-old bitch was not as refined as 1. Dainty and very pretty with a pleasing head, good topline and tailset. Moved out well with reach and drive. 3. Jotolemar Time Stands Still with Charabri BPIB, TPG4 4. Hunters Jotolemar Time To Shine Blue

Chihuahua (Long Coat) Open (5,1) 1. Hunters Jotolemar Ellie's Time JW Cream 2-year-old bitch of good size and type, nicely coated and not overdone, level topline, good ribcage and body shape nice outline both standing and on the move, moved confidently and soundly and at one with handler. 2. Symons Bramerita Here's Trouble at Charabri 6-year-old dog presented in lovely condition. Pleasing head and expression with well-placed nicely sized ears set on a well domed skull. Well-proportioned body with good front and rear angulation. 3. Silversteins Ramesses Leo Valentina of Kircyann (IMP SVK) 4. Russell & Black, Chirouxe Sunny Disposition

Papillon Open (3,0) 1. Harvies Afterglow Barbie Doll With Penchrystona Red and white 18-month-old bitch, compact and dainty with prettiest of expressions. Large mobile well fringed ears with fine muzzle and dark eyes. Dainty with fine bone. Good quality silky coat. Moved out well with a very brisk action BOB 2. Mandelsons Humpty Dumpty Valery Park in Honrukal (IMP UKR) 4-year-old red and white dog with very good body and ribbing, confident on the move, smooth glossy coat 3. Griffon Bruxellois Open (2,1) 1. Finlay-Kirkwoods Fennymore Armani at Grajenco 11-month-old red rough coated male with the most pleasing of heads. Eyes dark and round with alert expression, good clear nostrils with well-defined stop. Cobby and well balanced he has a good spring of ribs for his age. Stright front giving way to short level back with well-muscled hind quarters. Moved out with drive filling up the eye on the move. BOB, TPG2

Pekingese Open (2,0) 1. Easdon & Martins Yakee I Want to Break Free 8-month-old dog who I found stylish and very lionlike in appearance. His expression is superb, excellent clear, dark eye, beautiful facial features & excellent shape to his skull. Well-boned, he picked up heavy & has a distinct waist. He moved out with the typical slow dignified rolling gait. I am sure he has a bright future ahead of him. Delighted to see him go reserve best puppy in show BOB, BPIB, TG4, TPG1 2, RBPIS. Easdon & Martins Yakee a Blast From The Past 2 year old male an eye-catching, smart dog with a lovely head and dark eye, with the darkest of masks. Good clear nostrils with well feathered ears. Very well made in front, well-bodied and picked up heavy, a little exuberant on the move on the day.

Chinese Crested Open (3,1) 1. Frames Elfallons Naked Angel Hairless 2-year-old bitch. Well balanced. Correct head with dark almond shaped eyes. Fine-grained smooth skin throughout with enough plume in all the right places. Presented in great condition with excellent muscle tone. Moved with reach and drive, covering the ground with ease. BOB 2. Kirkwoods Bryelis Star A'traction JW feminine 15-month-old bitch, well-constructed, good topline, well bodied, good rear end, moved out with good reach.

Italian Greyhound Open (5,0) 1. Brundtlands Miwell Alex Mcqueen 2.5-year-old black dog of slender proportions. Good outline, pretty head with large clear eyes, he moved well with some lift. Good depth of chest and clean front. BOB 2. Hardies Albalevriero Corrieburn 2-year-old graceful fawn bitch. Steady with good head and eye, ample neck leading to well set shoulders. Correct topline and low set tail. A little unsettled in the rear when returning 3. Abrahams Sirahdis Lonesome Dove

AV Toy NSC Open (5,3) 1. Murrays Cukoton Shot In The Dark 2 year old dog presented in excellent condition. Masculine head with dark expressive round eyes, with dark pigment, correct triangular head with slight stop. Correct coat of suitable length covering a well-muscled body. Deep brisket with straight front, well angulated rear. Moved around the ring with deportment, earning his place. He moved out well and back BAVNSC, TG3 2. Murrays Happypaws Carefree (SHCM) (SHCEX) VW a 10-year-old bitch in excellent condition for her age. Correct head with dark pigment, coat in excellent condition. Correct topline, although larger than 1, still of the correct proportions. Moved out and back with smooth free movement. BVAVNSC, TVG1

Beautiful expression with clear dark eyes, strong jaws and good dentition. Moved out with brisk, positive action and good carriage. 2. Hunters Ch Jotolemar Best of Time Long Coat Chihuahua 7-year-old who was happy and confident. Full of breed type, she has a pretty head with lovely expression, good stop and length of muzzle, nice reach of neck level top-line, totally in tune with her handler 3.
