South Eastern Pyrenean Mountain Dog Club

SOUTH EASTERN PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG CLUB    -    AUTUMN OPEN SHOW

(Held in conjunction with Richmond Ch. Show, Loseley Park)

Held on: Friday, 6th September 2024    -    Judge:  Mr Russell F. Jones (Quemerford)

It was a rather wet day.  I had seen some dogs being brought into the show earlier in the day and it was challenging.  So, I knew I would have to be booted and well wrapped.  I was delighted to see how they were presented to me.  A sterling job had been done by all.  I congratulate you all, it was very much appreciated, especially that you all stayed after the Championship show, particularly in this weather.  Thank you all.

Minor Puppy D/B (1), 1 Waters, Mrs. L., Estom Patou von Traumberg with Sketrick, (Imp. CZE): A 6mth old dog puppy, that is well grown for age and just what you would expect.  All arms and legs, still wibbly and wobbly, which is just what I expected.  What you see is what you get.  He starts off with a kind expression, happy and friendly, nice proportions to head, balanced for size, correct bite.  Good pigment, very nice eyes, good ear set, neck ok, I would not want it any longer.  I am sure as he matures and gains substance he will balance out.  He has a good lay of shoulder.  I liked his depth of chest to leg length, plenty of bone, good length of back and nice tuck-up which will enhance as he matures.  Neat rear end with a nice bend of stifle.  I liked him an I was pleased to award him BPIS.  Well done.

Puppy Dog (1), 1 Waters, Mrs. L., Estom Patou von Traumberg with Sketrick, (Imp. CZE): As Before.

Junior Dog (2,0), 1 Waters, Mrs. L., Nevot De Alba De Los Danzantes with Sketrick, (Imp. ESP): A 15mth old dog, with a nice out-line and type.  Nice head of good size, plenty of pigment, pleasing expression.  Loved his eyes with that soft look.  Good ear set, good neck of correct length, great layback of shoulder, deep chest. Making the front legs look shorter.  Good bone and excellent back.  I would like to see a little more tuck-up, that said it does not detract from his overall appearance, neat and strong back end.  Very nice coat, finishing off the overall picture.  To cap it off he moves well, nice and settled with an easy gait, very sharp out-line.  I liked him a lot.   2 Absolom, Mrs. M., Shanlimore Alexander: Just over 12mths of age, a good-sized dog with a nice sized head, correct bite, dark eyes, neat ear set.  His muzzle still needs to fill out a little more.  Correct neck, layback is ok, chest still needs to drop a little more.  He has plenty of bone, his back is ok, good tuck-up.  Croup could be better and he lacked some rear angulation which showed up in his movement, which could also have been better.

Special Yearling Dog (1), 1 Waters, Mrs. L., Nevot De Alba De Los Danzantes with Sketrick, (Imp. ESP): As Before.    Graduate Dog (1), 1 Waters, Mrs. L., Nevot De Alba De Los Danzantes with Sketrick, (Imp. ESP): As Before.    Post Graduate Dog (1), 1 Waters, Mrs. L., Nevot De Alba De Los Danzantes with Sketrick, (Imp. ESP): As Before.

Limit Dog (2), 1 Challinor, Mrs. M., Shanlimore Marvin: A 3yr old dog, of a nice type and out-line.  Head could be a little more balanced for his size. He has a nice neck and neat front, good depth of chest and plenty of bone.  Strong back, neat loin, and nice croup and good angles to rear.  His movement is nice and steady covering the ground with ease.  I also appreciated the finish in coat which was well presented.    2 Woolf, Ms G., Sabre Golden Ticket du Pyrdanti, (Imp. FRA.): A 3yr old well grown dog of good type and out-line, I liked his head and front and he had strong back-end.  Was just let down in movement and his coat needed some attention.

Open Dog (4,1), 1 Baverstock, Mr. & Mrs. I. & Y., Ch. Kalkasi Just Because, JW: A really lovely well balanced 3yr old dog that was so well put together.  He starts off with lovely head and expression, really kind looking, correct neck, fairly short, which I particularly liked.  Excellent front with deep chest and what a top-line, never moved an inch on the move.  Neat tuck-up, nice strong loin and neat croup, good angles fore and aft.  I liked him a lot and it was a pleasure watching him on the move and he was presented in tip-top condition.  Pleased to award him with Res. Best Dog.  Congratulations.    2 Pollard & Maggs, Mrs. G. & K., Ch. Gillandant Thief Of Hearts at Dewyche, Sh.CEx: Biggest in the class and with the most muscles.  This 4.6yr old dog makes a very impressive picture.  He has a large head, in-keeping with the rest of him, big frame and bone, and was still well balanced and type very impressive.  Just was not so settled on the move.  Was very well presented.    3 Kenyon, Ms C., Ch. Charibere Simply The Sequel at Kaianna, JW: Another nice dog, worthy of his title.  This 3.6yr old dog is of an excellent type and out-line and was presented superbly, unfortunately he just did not like the ground which reflected in his movement.  Such a shame but it does happen.

Veteran Dog/Bitch (3,1), 1 Reilly, Lady S., Ch / Esp / Swiss /Ir / Multi / Int Ch. Lisjovia Boris Bear at Darmaror, JW, Sh.CM, Sh.CEX, CW19: Many things have been written about this 7.6yr old dog who is now a veteran.  He is of excellent type and out-line, but the thing above all else is when he moves, come rain, come shine, flat surface or rough ground he comes into his own, his head just drops, his shoulders open and his front legs extend.  His back-end drives out pushing his frame forward with just the right lift of the rear foot also forming that lovely M on side gate.  All keeping his top-line level, and it is a joy to watch, need I say any more.  Best Dog, Best Veteran and Best in Show. Many Congratulations.    2 Duffell, Mr. I., Ricaduffal Draco Star: A 7yr old dog enjoying his day out.  He is of a pleasant type and out-line, shown in profuse coat which he needs to keep an eye on.  Was not so settled on the move as 1st.

Junior Bitch (3,1), 1 Kenyon, Ms C., Charibere Reason To Dream at Kaianna, JW: A 17mth old bitch of good symmetry she has a good out-line and is of a good neat type.  Looking really sharp, nice feminine head with good pigment, good eyes and ear-set.  Neat front, strong back and good tuck-up.  Strong back end with nice angles.  She moved effortlessly around the ring.  I liked her a lot and was pleased to award her Res. Best Bitch.  Well done.    2 Burwell, Mrs. J., Shanlimore Adele at Bursville: Just out of puppy and still a little un-settled which reflected in her movement, she is a good shape and is a nice type and outline and when settled will be ok as she has good angles.

Special Yearling Bitch (2), Kenyon, Ms C., Charibere Reason To Dream at Kaianna, JW: As Before.    2 Stephens, Ms. B., Aurvandill Freya’s Thyra: An 18mth old bitch, pity she came up against the 1st.  She is a very pleasing feminine girl of good type and out-line that is nicely put together making a nice overall picture.  Just let herself down on the move pity as I liked her.  That said she redeemed her-self in the next class.  Well done.

Post Graduate Bitch (3.1), 1 Stephens, Ms. B., Aurvandill Freya’s Thyra: As Before.    2 Cox, Mrs. M., Aurvandill Freya’s Heidi: A 3yr old bitch, not an eye catcher, but not bad either.  She is not going to set the world alight, she is however an honest bitch, which I am sure you can move on from.  She just was not very steady on the move.

Limit Bitch (4,0), 1 Harris, Mrs. S., Febus Hardknott: A 3.6yr old bitch, clean cut, neat shape and out-line, with a very feminine head. I particularly liked her front assembly, short neck and excellent shoulders, strong level back and neat rear.  But I would like a bit more bend of stifle.  But she was presented in tip-top condition, very easy on the eye and moved well.    2 Coles, Miss S., Gillandant Jasmine: A 2yrs 4mth old bitch of a bit bigger type than 1st.  She has a pleasing out-line and type with a feminine head.  She is a bit longer in neck than 1st, has a good front, legs are well under her.  Good back, neat back end and moved ok.  Close thing between these 2 ladies.    3 Flounders, Mr. M., Kalkasi Just Imperial at Lakamoni: A 3yr old bitch of a nice type and out-line, very typical with a good coat.   Just let down in movement.    4 Baverstock, Mr. & Mrs. I. & Y., Kalkasi Star Of The Stage, JW: A 2.6yr old bitch that is a bit longer cast than the rest, but still makes a good type and neat out-line.  Could have a better front, which shows in her movement.

Open Bitch (4,1), 1 Thorne, Mr. & Mrs. J., Belshanmish New Sensation at Pyrajay, JW: A 3yr old bitch heading up this class, well grown, feminine with a very nice head, clean muzzle, nice shaped eye with good pigment.  Good skull and ear-set.  Short neck, excellent lay of shoulder, good depth of chest and plenty of bone.  Legs are well placed under her.  Strong back, neat tuck-up, well rounded rear, I particularly liked her bend of stifle which she used to good effect on the move.  She moved well covering the ground easily.  Pleased to award her BB and Res. BIS.  Congratulations.    2 Pollard, Mrs. G., Ch. Gillandant Simply The Best: This 5yr old bitch is a worthy Champion.  Pushed hard for 1st place, shown in better coat than 1st with good angles front and rear.  I liked her.  Just preferred te movement of 1st.     3 Coles, Miss S., Gillandant Jasmine: As Before.
