Working Breeds

This show has grown so much over the years, so much so, they have bought their own show field.  The day started off very grey and gradually improved during the morning into a very pleasant day.  The rings were of a good size and because it was a farmer’s field, it sorted out the good movers.  The show was well organised with a friendly atmosphere, with the exhibitors spread around in their gazebos.   My steward did a good job keeping the ring organised for me, and the exhibitors for excepting their places with grace.  Thank you all.

Bullmastiff  -  Graduate D/B (2,0), 1 Cox, Mrs. P.M., Blue Thunder Of Black Hunar At Rainwilds, (Imp. NLD.): A 10mth old fawn/red dog that is well grown for his age.  He is a very pleasing to the eye, and is of a nice type and out-line.  Looking very youthful, not the biggest of heads but well in proportion for his size.  I liked his width on the front and also his compactness.  It was a pleasure to watch him move which he did with ease.  Pleased to award him BP and BOB.  Later I awarded him Adult Grp 4 and P.Grp 2.  Congratulations on a good day at the show.    2 Cox, Mrs. P.M., Ardhub AR Ais Sa Dubh At Rainwilds: A 6.5yr old dog that was enjoying his day out.  He is of a nice brindle colour, and is well up to size.  But I’m afraid he was up against the youth, showing his age today.

Open D/B (3,1), 1 Horton & Williams, Ms. C. & Mr. A., Gertlush Polished Ebony: A 2.6yr old grey brindle bitch and very pleasing on the eye she is too.  She pushed hard for BOB.  She is very feminine and of a pleasing type with a nice out-line.  I particularly like her front.  She is well balanced throughout and she moved out well using all the ring.    2 Cox, Mrs. P.M., Gertlush Nimueh For Rainwilds: Another 2.6yr old bitch, this fawn-coloured bitch is little sister to 1st, she is not quite as compact as 1st and was not quite as settled on the move.  She is of a good solid colour and very feminine with a good for rear end.

Dobermann - Special Yearling D/B (4,2), 1 Groves & Hyett, Miss J.A. & Mrs. J.A., Lateagain Wish Upon A Star: An 11mth old black bitch, and very stylish she is too.  She has a great out-line and is very typy, she took my eye straightaway.  She oozes femininity and is so well balanced over-all.  Moves purposefully around the ring.  She won this class with ease.  Pleased to award her BP and BOB and later I awarded her Adult Grp 1 and P.Grp 1.  A great day for you.    2 Meaden & Jeans, Miss G. & Mr. P., Grafmax Golden Years: A 10mth old brown dog, with rich colouring.  He is well grown for his age and is nicely muscled.  He is a masculine dog but just did not have the top-line of 1st.  On the day I thought the handler could have got more out of him.

Open D/B (4,2), 1 Plummer, Mr. P. & Mrs. C., Aritaur Ginerosity, JW: A 6yr old black bitch.  She is well up to size of a nice type with a nice out-line.  She is very pleasing on the eye and very feminine.  Moved out well round the ring.  Pushed hard for BOB, just missed out today.    2 Bowdler, Mr. M.R. & Mrs. F.B.., Lateagain Zenyatta For Inverteign: A 4.5yr old black bitch that is also well grown and is of a pleasing type and out-line.  Not quite as balanced as 1st which reflected in her movement.  But she is pleasing enough.

Rottweiler - Graduate D/B (2,1), 1 Eynott, Mrs. K., Jezeve Perfect Storm At Bohannons: A 2yr old dog, that is a very happy friendly fella.  He is well grown and quite mature for his age.  He has a very pleasing out-line and is of a good type and is very easy on the eye.  Well balanced head, nice front assembly and strong back with a strong back end which he used when moving around the ring.  I was pleased to award him BOB and later Adult Grp 3.  Well done.

Open D/B (2,0), 1 Eynott, Mrs. K., Jezeve Perfect Storm At Bohannons: As before.    2 Broadbank, Miss J.H., Nyandor Never Say Never: A 3yr old bitch that was not quite as settled as 1st.  She is a pleasing girl and has some nice features.  She is of a nice type with a nice out-line.  Unfortunately was not able to hold her top-line and tended to be over stretched making her hocks look weak.  She was not settled on the move.

AVNSC Working - Graduate D/B (3,0), 1 Chapman, Mrs J.A., Astra Fidelis Ivan NAF: (Russian Black Terrier) A 2yr old dog, well made, square looking dog that catches your eye no sooner than he enters the ring.  He is well balanced and very typy.  He has a balanced head, good length of neck, which is strong.  Good front and correct withers, level top-line and good back end.  He moved out well around the ring.  Found him an easy winner of this class.    2 Lyon, Mrs. H., Elgrandbear In The Moment: An 18mth old black Newfoundland dog that is well grown for his age.  Pity he came up against the 1st.  He is a very pleasant looking lad that is a nice type with a nice out-line.  He has a neat front and rear.  Still needs to tighten up all through to strengthen his back.  Moved ok.    3 Sharkey, Mrs. H., Jantonely Zingalone Baloo: Leonberger. A 21mths old dog.  He is well grown and of a nice type and out-line.  I don’t think the handler knows just how nice he is.  So just get him settled and under control and I am sure you will be surprised.

Open D/B (1,0), 1 Bodman, Mrs. C.A., Twillin Gate Vancouver Acara, (Imp Bel.): Newfoundland, a 2yr old black dog. That is well grown for his age, with plenty of substance.  This powerful dog is of a good type with a good out-line.  Nicely balanced head, good front, strong back and good back end, which he used to good effect around the ring.  I was pleased to award him Best AVNSC and later Adult Grp 2.  Well done.

AV Working - Puppy D/B (3,02), 1 Meaden & Jeans, Miss G. & Mr. P., Grafmax Golden Years: Dobermann. As before.

AV Working - Veteran D/B (5,1), 1 Plummer, Mr. P. & Mrs. C., Grafmax Alfie Boe, JW: Dobermann.  An 8yr old black dog.  He is of a good size and of a good type with a good out-line.  He is very pleasing to the eye and you would not think he was 8yrs of age.  He has a balanced head, good reach of neck, neat front, good top-line and neat angles to the rear.  Moved out well around the ring.

2 Broadbank, Miss J.H., Bevanray Shirley At Nyandor, Sh. CEx.: A 7yr old Rottweiler bitch that is well grown, and of a good type with a good out-line.  She is very feminine and very pleasing on the eye.  Just did not have the fluency of movement as the 1st.

3 Snelson, Mrs. H.T., Niflheim Gambit At Ashtrax: Siberian Husky.  An 8yr old dog of red colouring.  Not the biggest of dogs but he has a pleasing out-line, looked balanced with good proportions. Was just let down on movement.

4 Snelson, Mrs. H.T., Niflheim Blade At Ashtrax: Siberian Husky.  Litter brother to above, and you would never have guessed as he is a lot bigger and longer in the back. His coat is however a striking grey colour which is very pleasing.
