Bournemouth Canine Association – Premier Open Show

Bournemouth Canine Association has come on leaps and bounds, with there show ground, and this was the best by far.  Plenty of room under the marquees and good size rings.  Entries are going down and with the hot weather there were some absentees.  Also, with not so many new people coming in to the breeds it is a sign of the times.  That said there were some nicely presented animals at the show.  It was a pleasure to judge at this well-run show.

Hungarian Pumi   J D/B (1,0), 1. Wolf, Ms., J., Csullis Dawn Breaker: A 16mth old grey bitch and very girly she is.  She is of a very pleasing on the eye with a pleasing shape, balanced head and neck.  Neat front, plenty of body and good back end.  I would just like a little more bend of stifle and her to be a little more compact.  She is steady on the move covering the ground with ease.  Overall, she is a very neat bitch.  I was pleased to award her BOB.

Welsh Corgi (Cardigan)   O D/B (1,0), 1. Marett, Mrs., C.V., Twinan Lets Be A Clown At Gayteckels, [ATC 004044]: A 2.6yr old black & white dark brindle bitch.  In the sun you could be forgiven thinking she was black & white.  But on the table in the shade, it was plain to see, and this young lady is very pleasing to the eye.  She is well balanced throughout with a neat head, loads of pigment, dark eyes, strong neck and neat front, deep chest and good length of back.  Well balanced rear and correct tail and neat hocks.  She moved out well around the large ring.  Pleased to award her BOB.

Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)   PG D/B (1,0), 1. Winfield, Mrs., E., Brownleglen’s Gayteckels Dhu: A 3yr old bitch.  This well-grown Tri-coloured was a little sluggish on the move.    I found her a little masculine for me.  She has plenty of bone and lots of substance, and lots of pigment.  Plenty of muscle and also has a nice rich colouring.    

O D/B (1,0), 1. Winfield, Mrs., E., Daleabbey’s Apple Pie At Brownieglen: A 5yr old sable & white bitch of a pleasing type.  Very feminine with a nice colouring.  She is nicely balanced with neat head and front.  I particularly liked her top-line which she held on the move.  Neat angles to front and rear.  She moved out well around tis large ring.  Pleased to award her BOB.
