A big thank you to my two very capable stewards, Joanne and Mairi on a day that turned out to be rainy and challenging outside.

I thought that the standard of exhibits was high.

Terrier Group

The 2 year old Lakeland caught my eye straight away in AVNSC Open, however it had to beat a lovely WHWT to take the class.

A red bitch of correct size and stature. Great close harsh coat. Perfect bite with a lovely head and pleasing expression. Good shoulder placement. Well balanced and walked with purpose and never put a foot wrong. Later learned she went BIS

The Skye was everything I’d want. Correct size and length with powerful features. Excellent bite with big strong teeth. Good front and powerful rear end. Plenty of rib finished with a glorious coat. Walked effortlessly.

The red Stafford is best described as old school, powerful and screaming breed type. Not over-sized but all in proportion. In hard as nails condition. Good head with a broad skull and powerful bite. Deep chest and rib, powerful rear stifles with well let down hocks. A real showman.

The young blue bedlington bitch is a lovely example of the breed. Not too tall with all the Bedlington curves in all the right places. Great head and mouth. Good length to height ratio, good straight front with decent rear angulation. Finished with a fine top knot and ear tassels. Decent mover

Group 4 Trutillian Radiohead for Blunderhall (D) (Norwich Terrier)

My puppy group winner was a lovely type Jack. Nice head with a well-proportioned foreface. Length of body complimented height. Well bodied, sprightly and alert with a happy disposition not unlike the US Russell Terrier.

It’s nice to see breeders bringing the quality of the breed on. This dog has real potential to do very well.

Classy Manchester one of two full siblings so my personal preference went to the tad smaller boy.

Excellent head and features. Good ear carriage. Perfect body lines with a straight from and deep rib.

Covered the ring with ease for youngster.

The Smooth Fox won AV puppy as well as her breed class. Smart and confident and of a nice bitch size. Nice head with a good bite. Good shoulders, tidy body with good angles. Walked very well.

The Norwich was well worth his place. Of a nice size. Alert and lively with a great head and scissor bite. In good coat and went very well for his handler. Showed really well.

A Wheaten of a nice size. Classic head with good furnishings. Correct bite. Straight front with good rear angles. Very nice coat, walked and showed very well.

14 month, Nice for size, good head and furnishings. Dark eye with good pigmentation. Good shape to her with decent angles and curves. Moved well RBOB

Larger sized liver coat with a nice head. Correct Lighter for colour with good pigmentation Good overall shape and turned out well. A little unsettled in the ring but moved okay in the end.

Nice young 2 year old. Very pleasing solid blue/grey coat which was beautifully presented.

Not an oversized dog. I found a good mouth and fairly solid body for a youngster. Good height to length ratio. Moved well. Promising future. RBOB

Another good example of the breed. A lighter brown coat with pigmentation to match. Nicely shaped feminine head with a good bite. Good shoulders with a level topline and decent rear angles.

Sound enough dog of a nice size. Good mouth and ear carriage. Firm body with decent rear angles.

Coat not at it’s best on the day. Moved and handled well.

2nd As a Kite (B)

Smaller type but okay for size. Decent body and rear. Again coat could be better. Walked okay

Up against full sibling, so many of the attributes unsurprisingly were the same.

Again Excellent head and features. Same good ear carriage. Perfect body lines with a straight from and deep rib. Just preferred 1st size. Covered the ring with ease for youngster.

Nicely balanced young girl in a lovely juvenile coat. Nice head with good ears, eye and mouth. Good shoulders. Good rear angulation and moved with purpose and drive

2nd Giffenbull Encore of Aribax (D) (Bull Terrier miniature)

Nice sized Mahogany brindle boy. Nice head shape and ears, good eye. Deep ribbed with powerful loins. Very nice example of the breed but let down by a poor bite.
