HANDLING

Some good handlers, who had a good raport with their dogs, in general the standard of handling was high and the only thing splitting some classes were handlers not following all instructions. And a few with tight leads.

Junior Handling

6-11 years (2,1)

1st Sienna Hoare aged 9 – has a lovely rapport with her dog and listens to the judge well. Needs a little more practice and some help with how to deal with the lead when showing. I am sure given time she will make a great handler.

12-16 (3,1)

1st Megan Fylyma aged 15 – Calm and competent, listened and followed commands. Presented the dog well and was sympathetic.

2nd Leah Chadwick aged 14 – Attentive to dog but needs to relax a little, listened to commands but did not always fully execute them. Dog was on a tight lead too often and this lost her the class.

Adult Handling

17-45 (6,4)

1st Laura Denby – good with dog and presented on a loose lead, listened and confirmed instructions, to win this class.

2nd Georgia Kent – missed one of the instructions given which was enough to put her into 2nd

46+ (7,1)

1st Kirsty Watts – Sympathetic handler who was attentive to dog and showed them off to best advantage to win class.

2nd Sarah Pilkington – presented dog well and listened to instructions, not as neat on corners as winner and dog a little tight on lead at times.
