Midland Rottweiler Club

The Midland Rottweiler Club Open Show - 10th May 2024

First of all I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge a breed very close to my heart. Overall there was a mixture of types exhibited on the day but I found all to be of good temperament. Thank you to the exhibitors for sticking around in the heat to give me the chance to evaluate your dogs and accepting my placings, refreshing to see such a supportive bunch of exhibitors ringside and in the ring.

Baby Puppy Dog (1/0)

Roberts & Hill MAGGLYN VON KLAUS

17 week old puppy with good bone and substance for age. Scissor bite, clean muzzle and well proportioned head. Good depth of chest and correct angles through out. Steady mover covering the ground with ease. An exciting youngster.

Puppy Dog (2/1)

Plimmer’s VICTOREM SHILO

11 month old dog, correct bite & eye, head developing well to give good expression. Well bodied with good bone throughout to support. Tail carried high but no deviation. Steady mover, would like rear to firm up to give more drive.

1st Courtney-Baughan’s JHAVE BLACK MAGIC OVER WHISPERDOWN

Almost 14month, all round sound dog. Correct bite, dark eye of good shape. Head developing as it should with correct proportions. Good length of neck with well laid shoulders. Plenty of bone for size with good angulation. Steady move covering the ground with efficiency.

2nd Dudley’s TATRASROTTS ATALO BY DEEPWEILER

Yearling Dog

1st Docherty & Dunhill-Hall’s FANTASA JUSTE VOITURE NOIRE

2 on the day and maturing beautifully. Correct bite, head well developed, good ear set to complete the picture, with good reach of neck, falling onto well laid shoulders. Strong top line and well conditioned throughout. Good tail carriage and covered the ground with ease.

2nd Everton & Sutcliffe’s BEREYDA THE REAL DEFENDER

Younger male than one and just note as finished. Muzzle slightly wrinkled which defects from overall expression. Good eye of dark colour, correct bite. Well boned through and shown in firm condition. Slightly long in hock which affects over all movement but covered the ground with ease.

Post Graduate Dog (1/1)

Limit Dog (2/0)

1st Cartwright’ she STEIGEN RUPAUL CHARLES

3 year old dog, smaller in type but well made. Fantastic dark mahogany markings. Correct bite and pleasing head. Strong neck with good angles throughout. Well muscled which showed in strong steady movement. Sometimes lost strength in top line. Pleased to award him reserve best dog.

2nd Byrne’s MARAJ MOON

Another 3 year old dog, correct bite and eye of good shape and colour, muzzle over wrinkled and carrying too much weight over shoulders which affects outline. Well angled front and good muscle tone on rear.

Good bite, dark eye of good shape. Well made bitch with lots to like. Well angled throughout with good bone. Out of condition today which let her down, would like more muscle tone.
