My thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at this very well organised show. The venue is superb for this type of event and being outside in such glorious sunshine added to the atmosphere of the show. A very special thank you to my steward Lloyd who kept things running so smoothly for me on the day. My thanks to all those who entered their hounds under me and allowed me the privilege of going over some stunning dogs on the day and gave me some tough decisions to make. Lastly a big thank you for the very beautiful gift of a slate coaster it is something I will treasure for years to come and remember my day with you all.

1st Paskins Mr K.S & Mrs S.M. Kindeace Hit The Road Jack.

Well-presented young dog, balanced in height to length ratio. He has a masculine head with dark almond eyes carried well by his muscular neck. Excellent front with good strong fore-chest, well laid shoulders and legs nicely under his body. Good length of ribbing leading to his short loin and muscular rear with complimenting angulation to his front. On the move he covered the ground well with a free and flowing action. B.P.I.B. and later pleased to award him 2nd in the puppy group.

Litter sister to winner of class and again so full of breed type. She was beautifully balanced throughout with well-made front and rear quarters all fitting neatly around her muscular body, sufficiently clear of ground and her underline merging nicely to her abdomen. I’m sure these two have a great future.

Black and tan bitch presented in excellent coat and muscle condition. Correct head, conical and tapering well to nose. Dark almond eyes and high set ears of good length. Well-made front with sloping shoulders and forelegs placed correctly. Moderate in her body length with her ribs extending well back. Strong broad rump with muscular hindquarters set at correct angles. On the move she had excellent length to her stride covering the ground with ease. R.B.O.B.

Immaculately presented black and tan bitch, moderately proportioned throughout. Beautiful head with intelligent expression from her obliquely set eyes. Prominent fore-chest with her sternum extending well under her body. Complimenting front and rear assembly which she used well showing good drive and good length of stride.

Red bitch, moderately proportioned throughout. Good length of head, conical and tapering well to muzzle. Strong, well-muscled rear with good length of upper thigh, shorter lower thigh all set at correct angles and her legs straight and parallel to each other. Well-knit dog who was well balanced throughout his masculine outline. Typical head proportions tapering well to his muzzle. Dark almond shaped eyes set obliquely and a high set well rounded ear. Good fore-chest to his front with well angulated shoulders and excellent return of upper arm. Ample depth of body with his ribbing extending well back to his short loin. Muscular rear with his upper thigh set at right angles to his shorter lower thighs and his with his hind legs set straight and parallel. Handsome dog full of breed type. Correct height to length ratio, masculine head which he carried boldly at all times. Well-made front with hi feet correctly placed under his keel. Well ribbed up in body with his underline well clear of the ground. Good strong and well-muscled rear quarters which he used well to drive well around the ring.

Black and tan dog of typical proportions throughout his body. Masculine head with slight stop, obliquely set almond eyes and high set ears all carried well by his slightly arched neck of ample length. Well filled in his front with ample depth of chest and with well laid shoulders. Broad, strong rump with his rear assembly complementing his front perfectly he moved well around the ring with good length of stride and ample drive from his rear. R.B.O.B.

My star of the day this black and tan dog was presented in excellent condition throughout and my hands just flowed over his super construction. Balanced in his height to length ratio he has a typical conical shaped head with equal length nose to eyes and eyes to occiput. His skull has a slight arch and was in proportion to his size with dark almond eyes set obliquely and well-rounded high set ears. Muscular, slightly arched neck leads down to his well laid sloping shoulders with excellent return of upper arms and all forming a slight crook to his front with his breast bone prominent. Correctly placed forelegs, covering the lowest part of his body and with sufficient ground clearance. Well ribbed up in his body which tucks up gradually to his short loin and with a level back line leading to his broad, muscular rump. Muscular thighs with his lower thighs short and set at right angles. He stands with sufficient width between his straight and parallel rear legs. On the move he showed great drive from behind and covered the ground with good length to his stride. B.O.B. and I was pleased to award him Best In Show later on in a very strong line up of super hounds.

Two year old bitch presented in good hard condition throughout. Good head with beautiful expression from her dark almond eyes. Good front and rear quarters and standing sufficiently clear of the ground she moved well around the ring.

Beautiful bitch who is both elegant and powerful in her build. Typical in her head which is both long and broad at her correctly set ears. Her skull tapers slightly to her dark, moderately full eyes and tapering more on her muzzle to her nose, all carried well by her strong neck. She has a well laid back shoulder with straight legs to her front, all fitting well around her deep chest of ample width. To her rear she has ample width to her hips with her stifles well bent and good length from hip to hock. She was presented in good coat and on the move she covered the ground with an easy and active striding action.

Well balanced dog who was presented in superb condition and nothing exaggerated. Well made in his head with a domed skull, lozenge shaped eyes and low set ears that curled inwards. Ample depth of chest with a well sprung, rounded rib which extended well back and with his breast bone prominent, close fitting elbows and well laid back shoulders. Muscular rear with well bent stifles and strong well let down hocks. On the move he covered the ground with a smooth, purposeful gait reaching well in front and driving powerfully from behind.

4th Callow & Davis Ms N.D & Mrs C. CH Whittimere Alright Bab JW (Norwegian Elkhound).

A typical bitch, square in her balance and powerfully built in her compactness. Wedge shape head with ample with between her high set ears that were of correct size and very mobile in action. Oval, dark brown medium sized eyes giving a good expression. Well-made front with her shoulders sloping and her elbows close fitting to her sides. Deep, broad body with her ribs well curved and keeping her topline level at all times. Muscular rear with a definite bend to her stifles and carrying her tail tightly curled over her back. On the move she demonstrated an effortless striding action with her legs converging equally.

Beautiful bitch presented in excellent condition throughout and full of breed type. Loved her head with a moderately domed skull of ample width and with a good, strong underjaw. Oval, dark eye giving a lively expression, with her ears in line with her eyes and of sufficient length. Muscular, short neck leads down to her well-made front with her shoulders sloping, ample bone and good strong pastern. Her body has ample width and depth with her ribbing extending well back to her loin. Good strong rear with well bent stifles and strong well let down hocks. On the move she covered the ground with a quick and positive striding action.

Well balanced bitch full of grace and symmetry in her outline. Long and narrow in her head with a dark oval eye adding to her appeal. Muscular in her front with shoulders set well back around her long and deep brisket. Her body is moderately narrow but has sufficient width and depth and tucks up nicely to her muscular, slightly arched loin. Muscular, well developed thighs to her rear with a moderate bend to her stifle and with good strong hocks. Her movement was both smooth and effortless as she went around the ring and carrying her tail in a natural curve.

Elegant bitch who presented an elegant outline full of power. Long and lean head with a slight stop, oval bright, expressive eyes and small rose shaped ears. Long, slightly arched neck, well laid back shoulders with her elbows falling in a line with her withers. Well sprung ribs to her body with ample depth of chest and a definite tuck up to her short loin. Well developed, muscular thighs to her rear with stifles well bent and standing naturally. On the move she was true coming and going, covering the ground with a free and effortless action.

Bitch of nearly 8 years of age who has matured beautifully and was presented in excellent condition throughout. Typical head, conical of good length with correct dark almond eyes. Good fore-chest extending nicely back under her body with well laid shoulders and legs nicely supporting her front. Strong rear with her rump well rounded and her angulation complimenting her front. She moved well around the ring with long and free flowing strides.

Handsome dog of 9 years of age and presented in immaculate condition, with a natural harsh coat. Correct in his head of medium length with a moderately domed skull and dark eyes giving good expression. Good straight front with sloping shoulders all set well around his deep chest with well-rounded ribs. Strong rear with stifles well bent and good strong hocks he moved with good strides around the ring.

Beautifull Bitch of 9 years of age balanced in her outline appearing taller than her length, typical head with beautiful chiselling, dark almond eyes and small erect ears set correctly. Well laid back shoulders to her finely boned front. Good depth of chest which is oval in shape with well sprung ribs. Moderately bent stifles to her muscular rear and good strong hocks. She moved well with a long and tireless striding action.

4th Watts & Pedder Mrs N. & Mrs A. Houla’s American Boy (IMP USA) ( Portuguese Podengo).

Handsome well made 9 year old dog of correct proportions. Wedge shaped head with expressive eyes and correctly set ears that he carried forward when alert. Well laid shoulders to his front fitting well on his body with moderately sprung ribs, carried well back. Moderately angulated rear with good strong hocks. He moved well with a typical, swift and light footed action.
