Thank you to the society for the invitation to judge at your show. Thank you to all exhibitors who braved the wind, rain and cold weather! It was freezing but most exhibits didn’t feel the cold as much as their owners/handlers. 


Newfoundland (Post Graduate) (2,0)

1st - Moir, Miss A - NEWGRADEN TO THE MOON AN BACK. 8 month old brown down who pleases for overall shape and balance with good bone throughout. Head is developing well with good proportions. Skull is broad with ears that are set well that lay close to head. Eyes are a lovely almond shape set well with tight lids. Muzzle is of good width and depth with flews tight. Muscular neck sat on well laid shoulders with a good return of upper arm. Feet ok. Topline is level with a strong muscular loin finished with a well placed and carried tail of correct length. Angles in rear are good with good strength to thigh and muscled throughout. On the move this boy was balanced with good drive in rear showing the desired roll and lovely reach in front. 2nd - Mcfarlane, Mrs. Sue - WAY TO MY DREAMS CHARIBOO AT AWEBEAR (IMP POL). A lovely rapport between dog and handler. A black 4 year old bitch who is good for size and bone. Pleasing headpiece with good width to skull. Good length and depth to muzzle. Would have liked slightly tighter lips. Eyes are of almond shape with tight lids set well in head. Ears are set well and of small size which lay close to head. Muscular neck which leads into well laid shoulders. Elbows are tight to a well filled, broad chest. Topline is held well on stand and on the move with a muscular loin leading into a tail that is placed well and of good length. Angulation in rear is ok with well let down hocks and muscled throughout. On the move the handler really had to work hard to get the best out of her dog as she was reluctant to cooperate at times.

Shetland Sheepdog 

Post Graduate (7,0) 

1st - Hill, Dr. Jane - COCARO CONTRABAND, 10 month old bitch who headed this class on overall shape and balance. A lovely blunt wedge with good muzzle to skull ratio. Lovely almond shaped eye placed with dark rims. Ears are of good shape and size can fly a little when excited. Lovely arch to neck which leads into well laid shoulders with a good return of upper arm. Good for bone and a parallel straight front with oval shaped feet. Longer than high in body with level back. Rear is well angulated with broad muscular thighs and well let down hocks. Coat in great condition. On the move this girl really covers the ground with super reach in front and drive in rear


2nd - Forbes, Mrs. Leanda - DEGALLO THE PRODIGY. 6 1/2 month old dog puppy who has a lovely headpiece with good depth to skull and muzzle. Definite stop. Eyes are placed well and of a lovely almond shape with super pigmentation throughout. Ears are small and set close on head. A muscular, arched neck leading into a lovely front with shoulders being well laid and front is straight and parallel with oval feet. Chest is still developing. Back is level with croup sloping to a low set tail of good length. Rear matches the angulation in front with thighs being broad and muscular. Hocks are strong and well let down. On the move demonstrates lovely drive in rear and reach in front whilst covering the ground. As he matures he will maintain balance on move more.

1st - Forbes, Mrs. Leanda - DEGALLO BLONDE AMBITION. This bitch impressed on first initial look. Then once you get hands on you appreciate the quality that lies beneath the coat. A feminine headpiece with super muzzle to skull ratio with everything being balanced. A defined stop. Eyes are almond and of good size and colour with dark rims. Ears are small and set close and carried well. Neck is arched leading into a level back with a slope over loin leading to low set tail of good length. Shoulders are well laid with a good return of upper arm with elbows close to a deep chest. Front is straight and parallel with good bone and oval feet. Rear is muscled well with good angles throughout and well let down hocks. Needs to make sure that she is moved at a slower pace in order to demonstrate balance on the move. Once slower she uses her rear to drive and front to reach whilst covering the ground. BOB 

2nd - Hepburn, Carol - LETERIKHILLS RIVER LASS. Close up on 1 in this class. This 3 year screams femininity. A beautiful headpiece with good muzzle to skull ratio. Eyes of almond shape placed well making you come back for a second look. Good depth to muzzle and skull. Ears are set close and of good size finishing the headpiece. Neck is of good length and well arched leading into a clean front with well laid shoulders and upper arm of good length. Super straight, parallel, clean front with good bone and good feet. Chest is of good depth and ribs well sprung. Back is level with slope to wards low set tail of good length. Rear is well muscled with good angles throughout. On the move this girl really covers the ground demonstrating good reach in front and drive in rear.

Havanese Graduate (1,0)

1st - Gunn, Mrs. Lorraine - PINKIE PIE FOR HARVAHOPE. 7 month old puppy who really pushed the owner whilst in the ring. A pleasing headpiece with broad skull with good muzzle to skull ratio. Lovely dark almond eyes of good size placed well in head. Pigmentation is super throughout. Ears are set well. Neck is of good length leading into well laid shoulders with elbows close to a developing chest. Longer than high with the desired rise over loin finished with a tail that is set high. In the standard it calls for a “free springy step” this girl took this to the extreme bouncing around like a kangaroo, that said I was able to see enough to see that she was able to move parallel with good drive and covering the ground well. 1st - Gunn, Mrs. Lorraine - JANABEAR DANCE O'THE KNIGHTS. A masculine dog rising 7 years old presents a pleasing silhouette. Good headpiece with good muzzle to skull ratio. Broad slightly rounded skull. Eyes are large and almond of good colour placed well with good pigmentation throughout. Enough stop to balance the headpiece. Ears are of good size set well. Lovely front with well laid shoulders and elbows close to a deep well filled chest. Topline is good with rise over loin finished with high set tail. Rear is muscled well with enough angulation. On the move he has good drive whilst covering the ground. BOB

2nd - Russell, Mrs. Claire - DYFFRYNSANDS DESTINY'S DAY TO CLARAVI. 6 year old bitch who presents a good shape on the stand. Feminine headpiece with lovely proportions. Almond shaped eyes placed well. Good width to skull. Ears are placed well. Front is well assembled being straight and parallel with good feet. Shoulders are well laid. Topline ok, tends to flatten a little. Good depth to chest. Tail is set high but unfortunately didn’t carry it. Rear is well constructed with good muscle tone. On the move she is balanced a moves with good reach and drive. 


Chinese Cresred

1st - Moyes, Elsie & J Shaw & G Hunter-Ryan - BRYELIS OPPS I LOST MY HALO. 8 month old hairless bitch who really appealed for shape and balance. Feminine headpiece with super muzzle to skull ratio with enough stop. Good length and depth to muzzle with tight lips. Lovely dark almond shaped eyes placed well. Large low set ears used well with enough fringing. correct bite for a hairless. Long neck leading into a well constructed front. Well laid shoulders with straight parallel limbs finished with a good hare like foot. Topline is good with broad chest and a well rounded rump finished with a high set tail carried well at all times. Angles in rear are good with good muscle tone and well let down hocks. Skin in super condition. Moved out with super reach and drive covering the ground well. This girl would have been my BOB but unfortunately in the challenge she was pretty cold and didn’t move the way I know she was able to.

1st - Moyes, Elsie & J Shaw & G Hunter-Ryan - BRYELIS BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN. Litter brother to 1. Masculine headpiece which is balanced. Eyes are placed well but slightly rounder than litter sister. Ears are large and set low with enough fringing. Lovely length to neck leading into well laid shoulders. Elbows are close to a broad chest that’s developing well. Front is parallel and straight and stood on good feet. A little croup high at the moment but as he develops will hopefully level out. Angles in rear are good with super muscle tone and well let down hocks. On the move this boy can drive. Covering ground well. BOB BPIB TG4 TPG1 RBPIS


Japanese Chin 

Post Graduate (2,1) 

1st - Lindsay, Miss Leanne - SOMERGEMZ I OWN HER AT ANJULI. Lovely black and white bitch who produced a lovely silhouette. Feminine throughout. Broad skull being rounded in front. Small high set ears carried and used well. Eyes are large, set well with enough white in corners to give the breeds look of astonishment. Super width to underjaw with enough cushioning on muzzle. Muzzle short with a large nose with wide nostrils. Neck is of good length and leads into good shoulders. Elbows are close to broad chest. Good for bone and limbs are straight finished with hare feet. Topline is super being held on stand and move finished with a high set tail. Rear is equally well constructed with good muscle tone. On the move is where this girl comes alive. Displaying super drive and a lovely reach in front. BOB and really pushed for the group but today had to settle for TG2.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Graduate) 


1st - Craney, Miss Mia - SWEETBRIAR MOONSTONE. Feminine Blenheim bitch who appealed for size and shape. Flat skull with high set ears with enough feathering for age. Eyes are large, dark and round placed well in head. Good length to muzzle with enough cushioning to soften the expression. Bite ok. Neck of good length and shoulders are laid. Front is straight and good for bone finished with compact feet. Chest is developing well for age. Lovely level Topline finished with a tail that extends the topline. Rear is well constructed with enough muscle tone. Took a little while to settle into the move but demonstrated a good drive in rear with a lovely reach in front. BPIB TPG4 


2nd - Hamilton, Mr. & Mrs. Fiona, INVINCIBLE ANGEL MAGIC OAK AT HAMHOGGS (IMP) (POL). At just 6 months there’s a lot to like with this puppy as she’s still developing. Flat skull with high set ears. Eyes are a lovely round shape placed well in head. Good length to muzzle with enough cushioning. Neck is of good length leading into a good shoulder placement and return of upper arm. Good for bone throughout. Topline is level with a tail that is set well. Rear is muscled well with enough angles. On the move just wasn’t quite as balanced as 1. 


Limit (3,0)


1st - Byers, Ms. H - BONNIEMADRA RICOCHET TO LINETIVE. Tri colour dog who has a pleasing headpiece. Flat skull with lovely high set ears with plenty of feathering. Eyes are placed well of good shape and size. Showing white of eye which spoils the soft expression. Enough underfill. Muzzle is of good length and depth with tight lips. Neck is of good length leading into a well constructed front. Topline is held on the stand and the move. Tail set is ok. Rear is well constructed with enough muscle tone. Moved out with enough reach and drive. 


2nd - Slack, Mr. & Mrs. David & Evelyn - DALVRECK IN DREAMS FOR EVERSBABES. Headpiece ok. Flat skull with high set ears with plenty of feathering. Eyes are round and dark and placed well. Slightly undershot but muzzle is well padded. Shoulders are well laid. Would have preferred a straighter front. Lovely neck leading into level topline. Rear construction is ok muscled well. On the move lovely reach in front but can get a little close in rear.

1st - Hamilton, Mr. & Mrs - Fiona & Douglas Hogg, KRINGLEHOLME CONTINENTAL. 18 month old Blenheim dog who caught my eye as he entered the ring. A lovely balanced head with flat skull and high set ears which are well feathered. Good width and depth to skull with lovely muzzle to skull proportions. Eyes are lovely and round and dark which are set well and has plenty of underfill. Muzzle is padded well with lips tight. Neck is of good length leading into a level topline with a well set tail that extends the topline. Shoulders are well laid with elbows close to a well filled chest. Straight front with good feet. Rear is muscled and angled well. On the move he is parallel with a good reach and front and drive in rear. BOB 


2nd - Byers, Ms. H, BRAEMARRA TAYLOR AT LINETIVE VW, A veteran boy that I gave BOB to when he was just a junior dog and it’s lovely to see him still enjoying being in the ring. A masculine headpiece with lovely dark eyes placed well in head. Skull is flat with high set well feathered ears. Muzzle is of good length and depth and well padded. Neck is of good length and leading into a super topline which he holds at all times. Tail is set on well. Shoulders are laid with a straight front with good feet. Rear is well constructed. Just had to give way to the youngster today as he didn’t quite have the drive in rear. 


Chihuahua (Long Coat)

1st - Symon, Miss Denise - JOTOLEMAR TIME STANDS STILL WITH CHARABRI. 10 month old bitch who won this class on overall balance on the move. Feminine headpiece of good overall shape with large ears set well. Eyes are round and large of good colour placed well. Muzzle is short and tapered with a defined stop. Shoulders are well laid with elbows tight to a well filled chest. Clean straight front with ok feet. Topline super with high set tail. Rear is well angulated with well let down hocks. On the move this girl maintains balance with a super drive and lovely reach in front. BPIB


2nd - Hunter, Mrs. Jacqueline, JOTOLEMAR EVIE TIME FOR FUN. Litter sister to 1. Head is still developing but is of good shape and size. Ears are of great size and set well on head. Eyes are lovely and round and of good colour placed well in head. Muzzle is short and tapered with defined stop. Shoulders are well laid with good return of upper arm. Elbow are tight to a developing chest. Good for bone throughout. Topline is level with good length of loin finished with a high set tail. Rear is equally matched to the front with angles and let down of hocks. Moved out well with good drive and reach in front.

1st - Hunter, Mrs. Jacqueline, JOTOLEMAR ELLIE'S TIME JW. Smaller in stature than 2 but lots to like none the less. Ultra feminine through with a lovely headpiece. Ears are a good size and placed well on skull. Eyes are lovely and round and of good colour set well in head. Muzzle is of good length. Neck is arched leading into level topline finished with a high set tail which was carried well at all times. Shoulders are well laid with elbows tight to a developed chest. Fine boned throughout. Rear is well muscled with good angles and let down of hocks. On the move is where this girl really comes alive with a powerful drive and lovely reach in from covering the ground well. BOB


2nd - Twaddle, Mr. Calum & D GRACE & L O'Neil, CHIROLIN HERE I COME TO SASILASY. 2 year old dog who presents a pleasing outline. Headpiece is ok. Ears are large and placed well on skull. Eyes are placed well and of good shape and size. Muzzle is tapered with defined stop. Neck is lovely and arched leading into level topline. Shoulders are well laid with elbows tight to chest. Good for bone. Tail could be set a little higher. Rear is well angled and muscled with well let down hocks. On the move there was plenty of drive and reach in front.

1st - Black, Miss Chloe & Diana Black - AMICAE PLAY WITH FIRE. An attractive 10 month old dog who presents a balanced outline. Lovely headpiece with good muzzle to skull ratio. Large ears set well with enough fringing. Rounded eyes of good colour dark rims set low. Good length to neck leading into sloping shoulders with a good return of upper arm. Fine boned throughout. Level topline with a muscular loin finished with a high set tail carried well. Well angled and a good turn of stifle and muscled well throughout. On the move is where this dog comes into his own with a light free moving action with plenty of drive and reach in front. BOB BPIB TPG3

2nd- Breen, Gil - AMICAE MOONFLOWER. Pleasing shape to this girl. Leathers are of good shape and size placed well on skull covered with enough fringing. Eyes are dark and set low. Would prefer a slightly finer muzzle to balance the headpiece. Defined stop. Neck is of good length leading into a long topline finished with a high set tail. Sloping shoulders with straight front with good feet. Good depth to chest. Well angulated rear with a good turn of stifle and let down of hocks. Moved very soundly.

1st - Breen, Gill - KYLECROFT QUEST. 5 year old masculine male with a pleasing headpiece. Super ears placed well on head. Eyes are placed low and are of good shape and size. Muzzle is fine with a definite stop. Front is well constructed with sloping shoulders and fine, straight bone with good feet. Neck is of good length leading into a level topline finished with a high set tail with good plume. Rear has ample muscle tone with good angles. Moved out positively in all directions. 

2nd - Black, Miss Chloe - PAPAROTTSIE TOUCH OF CLASS. A dog or larger stature. Would have liked a slightly finer muzzle. Eyes are set well and of good colour. Rounded skull with large ears set well with plenty of fringing. Neck is of good length leading into sloping shoulders and straight front. Heavier boned than preferred. Topline is level with good length of loin. Would have preferred a better tail set. Rear had a good turn of stifle with let down of hocks. Moved out with drive and purpose covering the ground well. 


Chihuahua (Smooth Coat)

1st - Twaddle, Mr. C & D Grace - TIKUS ONE LOVE AT SASILASY (IMP DNK). The cold really affected this exhibit today which was a shame. A feminine headpiece with lovely dark round eyes set well. Ears are placed well and of good size. A tapered muzzle with defined stop. Front assembly is good with fine bone throughout. Neck is good with a level topline finished a high set tail. Rear has good angles with good muscle tone. Lovely reach in front. Could have more drive.

1st - Carrigan, Mrs. C - JERRY-LEE-LEWIS AT CARRIPOM PEARLY FLOWER (IMP POL). A lovely compact youngster who appealed on overall shape and balance. Lovely expression with oval eyes set well in head. Skull flat with small erect ears set well. Muzzle is fine and in proportion to skull. Neck is short and set well onto well laid shoulders. Lovely straight front with good feet. Back is level finished with high set tail. Chest is developing well. Angles in rear are good with strong hocks. On the move the movement is light, brisk, parallel with plenty of drive and reach in front. BPIB

2nd - Mcalpine, Lynsay - ALTINA WOULDN'T IT BE LOVELY. A lovely bitch who I think was feeling the cold today. At 15 months has a lovely feminine headpiece with small erect ears placed well on a flat skull. Eyes are oval in shape and of good colour and they’re set well in skull. Lovely fine muzzle. Neck is short leading into super shoulders with a good return of upper arm and a straight, parallel front. Topline is level with a good depth of chest and a high set tail. Rear has ample muscle tone. On the move didn’t have the freedom that 1 had.

1st - Carrigan, Mrs. C - POSEYHILL SIR ISAAC NEWTON AT CARRIPOM JW. A dog I have previously judged a few years back, and it goes to show on a different day they can put on a totally different performance. A masculine headpiece with flat skull and small erect ears placed on top. Lovely eye shape and colour. Muzzle is refined with a definite stop. Neck is of good length leading into well laid shoulders with elbows close to a well filled chest. Limbs are straight finished with good feet. Topline is level with good length to loin finished with a high set tail covered well. Rear has super muscle tone with enough angle. On the move this boy was parallel, with super drive and reach covering the ground well. He put on a great performance earning BOB and TG1. 


Pug 

Puppy (3,2)

1st - Deans, Mrs. TJ - JOBEILE ANT STRUITHAIN AT UISDEAN. A masculine fawn dog who has lots to like: a good shaped head with large dark eyes placed well. Short, blunt muzzle with wide open nostrils. Enough wrinkle throughout. Ears are small and of good size placed well. Good width to underjaw. Strong neck leading into sloping shoulders with elbows tight to a well filled chest. Super bone throughout with parallel straight limbs. Topline is good finished with a high set tail with tight curl. Rear has a good turn of stifle with good muscle tone. On the move has a lovely reach in front with the desired roll in rear. BPIB TPG2

1st - Mccahill, Mr. Martin - ZOBEAR BUMBLEBEE AT DRACHENFEL (NAF). Head good shape with dark mask. Ear are placed well and of good size. Eyes are large and dark placed well. Large open nostrils with a short muzzle. Good width to underjaw. Neck is short and strong leading into laid shoulders with straight front. Good width and depth to chest. Topline is solid with good length to loin and tight highest tail. Rear is good with ample muscle tone. On the move good reach in front with enough roll in rear. 

2nd - Wishart, Miss Kristen - GOLBOURNE LADY LUCK. Good for size. Headpiece is ok. Ears are set well of good shape. Eyes are set well in head but larger than preferred. Large open nostrils with short muzzle. Enough width to underjaw. Shoulders are sloping with enough return of upper arm. Good for bone throughout. Topline is level with a tail that is set well but would prefer it slightly tighter. Rear is angled and muscled well. Moved out with enough reach in front and roll in rear. 


Open (4,3)

1st - Reid, Mrs. Lizann - GRAMATTI LAIRD OF THE RING VIA HUGIEBOOGIE SHCM VW. This boy most certainly does not act, look or move like a 12.5 year old. A masculine headpiece of good shape and size with small, thin ears set well. Large dark eyes placed well in head. Short muzzle with wide open nostrils and enough wrinkle throughout. Good width to underjaw. Neck is short and strong leading into well sloped shoulders leading into a clean straight parallel front standing on good feet. Topline is level finished with a high set tail, I’d prefer if it was tighter to really finish the overall picture. Rear is well constructed with super muscle tone and angles. On the move there was super reach in front with the desired roll in rear. A real credit to owner for keeping this dog in tip top condition.

1st - Slack, Mr. & Mrs. David & Evelyn, CARAMEL SWEETNESS WONDERFUL TOY FOR EVERSBABES (IMP LVA) - Long Haired Russian Toy Terrier Bitch who needs to develop in confidence to really showcase her true movement. That said a feminine headpiece with good muzzle to skull ratio with dark fitting lips. Large dark eyes placed well in head. Large erect ears set on high and used to frame the face at all times. A long arched neck which leads into slight layback of shoulders with a good return of upper arm. Topline on the stand the gently slope from wither to croup. Rear is angled and muscled well.

1st - Slack, Mr. & Mrs. David & Evelyn, GRANDE MISTERIO INCANTO HEAVEN EVERSBABES (IMP LVA) - Russian Toy, masculine headpiece with good proportions. Muzzle is lean and shorter than skull. Eyes are lovely and dark and round in shape. Defined stop. Good for bone throughout. Slight slope of shoulder with elbows close to a good shaped chest. Parallel straight front. With good feet. Correct sloped topline to a rounded croup finished with a tail that is carried high. Rear is angled enough with good muscle tone. On the move he is brisk with good drive in rear and reach in front.
