Spaniel (cocker)
Puppy (2,0)
2 very lovely puppies who on another day I’m sure will change places but this is how I found them today.
1st Mrs E L Tavernor - Cassom Dancing Queen at Regaltav. 9 month old with a lovely head that is developing well. Good muzzle to skull ratio. Lovely eyes that are places well. Low set ears with enough feathering. Lovely reach of neck leading into a good lay back of shoulders with a good return of upper arm. Straight front. Chest and spring of ribs developing well. Topline slipping towards a low set tail. Angles in rear good with strong hocks. On the move had super drive in rear with good reach in front. BPIB
2nd - B Pendlebury - Chataway New Beginning at Sandabys. 11 month old slightly bigger in frame than 1. Beautiful headpiece with good proportions. Eyes are set and placed well of good shape and size. Good length to muzzle and of good depth. Neck ok would like a little more to balance the overall picture. Bone is good throughout. Shoulders well laid. Good depth to chest with spring of ribs. Topline good sloping toward a well set tail. Moved with super reach in front and enough drive in rear.

1st Mrs E L Tavernor - Cassom Dancing Queen at Regaltav. Same as Puppy critique
2nd Mr R & Mrs S L Williams - Wilmerella Memphis Belle. This girl didn’t have her owner/handler today which cost her the top spot as I just couldn’t assess the movement. That said this girl has so many attributes. An ultra feminine headpiece with good proportions. Good shape to skull with low set ears. Eyes are of good shape and size and placed well in head. Muzzle of good length and depth and free from lippiness. Good length to neck which leads into a good layback of shoulder with a good return of upper arm. Good bone and feet throughout. Good depth of chest with elbows tight. Topline on the stand was slightly sloping leading to a low set tail. Angles in rear are good with good muscle.

1st - Miss H R Fawcett - Tomarisroan Star Maker. Won this class for overall shape, size and overall balance. Lovely headpiece with good muzzle to skull ratio. Muzzle is of good depth with lips tight. Eyes are of good shape and size and placed well in the head. Ears are low set with plenty of feathering. Neck is of good length leading into a good layback of shoulder with a good return of upper arm. Elbows are right to a well filled chest. Good bone throughout. Straight front and good feet. Topline is good with a strong loin sloping towards a low set tail. Rear is well constructed with good angles, low set hocks and muscles well. Moved out parallel with reach and drive. BOB.
2nd - Mr D & Mrs A Marshall- Wissant Very Special Agent. Close up on 1. Masculine headpiece with good muzzle to skull ratio. Lovely low set ears which are feathered well. Eyes are of good shape and size and placed well. Muzzle has good length and depth and Lips are tight. Enough underfill to finish the headpiece. Neck is of good length with good layback of shoulders. Chest is well developed with elbows tight. Straight front line with good feet. Topline is sloping towards rear. Loin is muscular. Tail is low set. Rear is angled well with let down hocks. Moved with reach in front. Just not quite the drive of 1.

1st - Messers J & D Hutton-Baber - Esqueen Following Star at Babtonkelpie (IMP POL) JW. A feminine bitch who I heavily considered for BOB. Handled beautifully to get the best out of her. A feminine headpiece with super proportions. Ears are set low with plenty of feathering. Eyes are a good shape and size and placed well in head. Enough stop. Muzzle is of good length and depth with lips tight. Enough underfill. A good length to neck which leads nicely into well laid shoulders and has a good return of upper arm. Straight front with good bone. Elbows tight to a well filled chest and spring of ribs. Topline is held on both the stand and move. Muscular rear with good angles. Moved out with reach and drive.
2nd - Miss M & Miss M Brothwell - Wilanorah Ticket To The Moon at Wissant. Another exhibit who was handled beautifully. Lovely headpiece with good proportions. Ears are low set with plenty of feathering. Eyes are set well in head and of good size and shape. Enough stop. Muzzle of good depth and length. Free from lippiness. Neck is of good length. Shoulders are well laid and good return of upper arm. Bone is good with straight front. Feet are good. Chest is of good depth and spring of ribs. Topline is good sloping to a well constructed, muscular rear. Moved out with good reach and enough drive.

1st - Mrs H Warrener - Eastfalla Sherlockholmes. Masculine headpiece with good shape and breadth to Skull. Lovely almond shaped eyes. Good length to skull with good depth and flews tight. Good stop. Ears are low set with plenty of feathering which frames the face and finishes it off. Good length to neck. Elbows close to a deep well filled chest. Super shoulder placement with good return of upper arm. Neck is of good length. Topline ok. Tail set on well. Rear angles are ok with good muscle tone. Moved out well in front can get a little close in rear at times. BOB

Junior (1,0)
1st - Mr N & Mrs G Wallington - Ferndel Renzo at Rovinjdal. I was incredibly impressed by this youngster. Lots to like and is maturing as he should. Handled beautifully. Good muzzle to skull ratio. Well defined stop. Eyes are placed well and are of good size and shape. Muzzle is of good length and depth with flews tight. Ears are set on well. Long neck leading into a super front assembly with long sloping shoulders, elbows close to chest and a straight front with good bone. Chest needs a little more developing but still a youngster. Good topline finished with a super tailset. Rear angles are good and is muscled well. Moved out with enough drive and reach in front covering the ground well but can lose some balance on the move. 1st - Mr P and Mrs F M Stevenson - Mymmsbrook Matador with Blythway JW. 2 year old where there is no denying he is male. Masculine headpiece with a good muzzle to skull ratio. Defined stop. Good eye shape and placement. Ears are set and used well. Muzzle has good depth and strong underjaw. Lovely long neck leading into well laid shoulders and a good return of upper arm. Straight front with good bone. Topline is super with a muscular loin. Tail set on ok. Rear angles are good with well let down hocks. Muscled well. Moved out well being parallel with good drive and lovely reach in front.

Junior (2,1)
1st - Mr N J & Mrs B J Garbett - Gailiech Beverleydottir. 14 months old with a pleasing head. Good length and depth to muzzle with flews tight. Good depth to broad skull. Ears are set on well with enough feathering. Good eye placed well. Good length to neck which leads into good shoulder which are long and well laid. Would like tighter pasterns. Enough depth to chest. Topline is level with a good tail set. Strong muscular loin. Rear angles ok. Good muscle tone throughout. Well let down hocks. Moved out good in rear but can get a little close in front at times.
Post Graduate (2,1)
1st - Mr N J & Mrs B J Garbett - Langstrumpf Hochsommer. Good length to muzzle and skull would like a bit more depth. Flews are tight. Defined stop. Good eyes which are placed well. Ears are placed well and of good length. Neck just needs to be a fraction longer to balance the overall picture. Topline is good with a strong muscular loin and a good tailset. Chest is good with elbows tight. Straight front limbs. Rear is well constructed. With good muscle tone. Well let down hocks. Move out with good drive and good reach in front.

1st - Mrs S & Miss K Wrigley - Kattandale Blac Highlander (AI). So much character and a bit of a diva! Best head of today with good width, length and depth throughout. Muzzle has good depth with flews tight. Ratio of muzzle to skull is good. Defined stop. Eyes are placed well and are of good shape and size. Ears are of good length and well feathered. Neck is of good length leading into long sloping shoulders. Elbows are tight to a well filled deep chest. Straight front with good feet. Topline is level with a good tail set. Angles in rear are equally matched as front. Let down hocks. Moved out with good reach and drive and covered the group well.

1st Miss C & Mr G Green - Ravenho Comradai Cymro. Strong masculine curly coated retriever. Good wedge shape head with large oval eyes set well in skull. Ears are set on and carried well. Slight stop with good planes. Lovely arched neck leading into good layback of shoulders. Super return of upper arm. Super straight front with good bone. Super depth to chest. Level topline with lovely rear construction. Strong muscular rear. Moved out with good drive and lovely front action. Coat in great condition.
2nd - Mr E & Mrs E Gough - Cretshengan Kitchi Lake (AI). Pleasing head on this Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever. Good broad skull with high set ears. Almond shaped eyes which are set well in head. Enough length to neck. Shoulders are well laid with a good return of upper arm. Ok for bone with straight legs. Elbows are tight to a well filled chest. Lovely topline with a muscular loin finished with a good tail set. Angles in rear are good with well let down hocks. On the move there is good drive in rear with good reach in front. Sometimes can race when moved too quickly!
AV Puppy (9,6)
I was back and forward in my decision between 1&2 but this is how they appear.
1st - Miss S F Riley - Wylloh Paddington Bear. A very raw, but promising 6 month old Golden Retriever puppy. On first glance you can see a lovely silhouette which is balanced for a baby. Lovely broad skull with ears that are set on the skull well. Dark eyes with good pigmentation. Good lay back of shoulder with a super return of upper arm. Legs are straight with good bone throughout. Chest is enough for this stage and will continue to develop. A lovely level topline with a tail that is just an extension of the topline. Well let down hocks and enough muscle. On the move this boy is parallel and has good drive and lovely reach in front covering the ground well.
2nd - Mrs J & Miss E S Darwesh - Chanderhill Smart Edition For Elizad. Another lovely youngster who was handled by the most empathetic young handler. Spanish water dog at 9 months old who impressed on first look with a balanced outline. Good muzzle to skull ration and good planes. Eyes are of good oval shape and size which are set well. Short, muscular neck leading into well laid shoulders, good return of upper arm and parallel straight front. Longer than high in body. Chest is deep giving plenty of heart room. Good topline finished with a tail that is set well. Great muscle in rear which you can see when when on the move with a strong drive in rear and lovely reach in front.

1st - see 1st in Welsh Spring Spaniel
2nd - Miss A Bell - Brent Deville’s Advocate at Owlspoint (AI). A 17 month old Bracco Italiano who could challenge a lot of dogs in these classes. A masculine dog whose headpiece is fantastic. Good proportions with large oval eyes with good eyelids that gives the soft expression. Ears are set on well which are of correct length. Super length of neck which leads nicely into long well laid shoulders and good return of upper arm. Straight front with goons oval bone with elbows close to a deep well filled chest. Strong, arched loin leading into a well muscled croup and rear. Good let down of hocks. On the move this boy has such a super drive in rear and carries himself well in front
AV Post Graduate ( 9,5)
1st - Mr D & Mrs A Marshall - Wissant Moon and Stars. I judged this dog earlier in the day and had he moved like this in this class he would have gained higher awards in the breed. A lovely headpiece which such a soft, gentle expression. Good muzzle to skull proportions. Muzzle is deep and with lips tight
2nd - Miss L & Mr R - Fazenfield & Smith - Owlspoint Askin For Trouble
AV Open (11,8)
1st - Mr S P & Mrs B E Beresford - Tuptonsett Paloma. German short haired pointer. A bitch who is super balanced and super sound on the move. This girl is very feminine her headpiece is broad with it being rounded. Good length and depth to muzzle with good lips. Lovely eyes which are placed well in head. High set ears which finish off the whole head. Lovely arched neck of good length which leads into muscular sloping shoulders with a great return of upper arm. A super straight front assembly with elbows close to a deep chest. A topline you could not fault finishing off with a good tail set. Enough tuck up. A strong muscular rear which she uses to drive and is matched by a lovely reach in front.

1st - Miss E & Mr R Hitchcock - Baldragon Dream Chaser at Lizlanmor. 8 month old King Charles Spaniel dog. Still a very raw baby. Head is developing well. Enough dome to skull, well defined stop. Good strong underjaw with good underbite. Neck is of good length leading into well laid shoulders and good return of upper arm. Straight front. Level topline perhaps slightly longer in loin than preferred. Lovely rear construction with good angles and muscled well. Moved out well with drive and reach. BOB BPIB

1st - Mrs K Milroy - Ascella Sidera Valles for Farthinghall (IMP CZE). Black and Tan Russian Toy Terrier. Feminine headpiece of good proportions. Fine muzzle with good bite. Eyes are placed well of good shape and size. Ears are ok. Neck of good length. Topline good finished with a tail that’s set on ok. Fine boned throughout. Enough depth to chest. Rear angles are good. Muscle tone good. Moved out ok.

1st - Mrs G Obringer - Buffels Miss Sleepy. 2.5 year old affenpinscher bitch. Good headpiece with good proportions. Lovely round eye which has a cheeky glint to it. Short muzzle with open nostrils. Strong underjaw with good turn up of chin. Neck is of good length. Shoulders good with straight front legs underneath. Good chest and spring of ribs. Slightly longer in cast than preferred. Tail is set on and carried well. Lovely angles in rear which was advantageous on the move having the muscle to give good drive in rear and has good lift in front.

1st - Miss W J Smith - Moltobello Miss Myrtle of Hulawawas. A 3 year old smooth coat chihuahua who is so sound and balanced in all angles you view her from. And the easiest decision to give her the class and Best AV overall. This girl scored for overall shape and size. A lovely shaped head with large round eyes which are placed well in head. Lovely ear set. Muzzle short with defined stop. Arched neck into good lay back of shoulders with elbows tight to a deep well filled chest. Straight front with ample bone. Good feet. Super topline finished with a high set tail. The rear construction is equally matched to the front with good angles and muscular. This girl has a super drive from rear and has a beautiful reach in front cover a lot of ground.
2nd - Miss D Wilson - Alizo Everyone is Mad Here. 6 year old Bichon Frise. A lovely headpiece with good muzzle to skull proportions. Lovely dark round eyes with super pigmentation. Muzzle is of good length with correct bite. Ears set on high with good length of leathers. Neck could have a little more length but it sits nicely on shoulders that are well laid. With a good return of upper arm. Feet are good with black pads. Lovely topline with strong loin. Would like a stronger tail. Lovely rear angles with good muscle. Hocks are strong. On the move there is good kick and drive in rear and enough reach in front:
