Thank you to the committee for a lovely day and especially to my stewards, Charlotte Russle and Karen Golden who kept things moving to get through a good number of dogs. It makes judging so much easier when you have efficient helpful stewards. Thank you ladies.

Shetland Sheepdog

Puppy (1,0)
1st Johnson, Jacobs & Johnson’s Willowthorn’s Roulette. What a lovely way to start judging with this typey 7mth B. Correct refined wedge shaped head with flat skull & well set, mobile ears. Well made forequarters with well laid shoulders. Correct spring of rib under a level back. Good rear angles, so smooth on the move, true and with drive. A very promising youngster, BOB & BP

1st Walker’s Una Fortuna for Tooralie. 11mth, dark sable B. Another good youngster with a pleasing head with dark eyes. Well made forequarters, good bone and neat feet. Level back to a well angled rear, moved true al round. RBOB
2nd Ferguson’s Dinmore Wild Blue Yonder of Fervaila. 16mth Blue Merle D. Rather tall for me but balanced. Broad through head with flat skull with dark eyes. Well laid shoulders and a level back over well sprung ribs. Good rear angles, moves a little close fore and aft.

1st Ferguson’s Dinmore Wild Blue Yonder of Fervaila– 2nd Junior

1st Ferguson’s Sandwick Valentina at Fervaila. 2yr Black & White B. Pretty feminine B with well shaped head, moderate stop & used her ears well. Well made forequarters with straight front. Good rear angles, moved true behind and in profile.

1st Jasper & Kitchen’s Pafaxen Rewrite The Stars. What a handsome young lad this 18mth D is. Lovely head of correct size and shape with good pigment, dark eyes and correctly sized and placed ears. Very well made forequarters with well laid shoulders, good bone and feet. Deep well sprung ribs, Level back to a broad, muscular, moderately angled rear. Super mover, free and easy with good drive and rear extension. May have been standing alone but a very worthy BOB

1st Tomlinson’s Milalder April Showers. 7mth O/R B. What a sweetie. Lovely shape and size, feminine through her well shaped head with dark eyes and an inquisitive expression. Well made fore and aft with well laid shoulders and good turn of stifle. A happy true mover. BP
2nd Walker’s Andalasia Gunfire. 10mth B/R D. Not entirely happy today but showed some improvements and worth persevering with. Masculine head and lovely dark eyes and correctly set ears. Well made fore and aft and a good overall shape. Moved ok.

1st Barclay’s Caddys Gift To Us. 9mth B/R B. Nice head with dark eyes and correct ears, very inquisitive and easily distracted by whatever was happening around him. Well made forequarters with well laid shoulders and good forechest. Good spring of rib but perhaps a little long through the loin. Well angled rear. Moved ok, true with a very happy wagging tail.

1st Pendlebury’s Chataway New Beginning at Sandabys. 16mth Black B. Lovely young B presenting a good shape and outline. Feminine through head of correct proportions, dark eyes and well set ears. Very well made forequarters with good forechest, nice bone and feet. Deep well sprung ribs through to a well angled rear. Lovely mover, true with drive.
2nd Tomlinson’s Milalder Lady Madonna. 23mth B/R B. Very feminine with good head and dark eyes. Well made forequarters with well sprung ribs under a level top line to a moderate rear. Another good mover.

On the move he has correct movement, true all round with good drive. BOB

1st Morris & Langton’s Arrowbien Nina Ricci at Jennobar. 11mth B/W B. Oh my, what a stunner. Super youngster of lovely shape and size. Correct head with rounded skull, dark round eyes and well set ears. Good length of neck to super forequarters with well laid shoulders and straight front. Gently sloping topline to well muscled and well angled rear. An absolute joy to watch on the move, effortless with reach and drive, true from all angled. BOB, BP then later Group 2 and Puppy Group 1.
2nd Caunce’s Yankeetank Ladytron. 7mth B/T B, very raw pleasing feminine B with correct head and dark round eyes. Good through neck and shoulders, deep ribs back to a well angled rear. Another good mover with reach and drive, very promising.

2nd Caunce’s Yankeetank The Gondolier – 7mth Blk D. Mature masculine boy with lovely head and outline. Well made forequarters, well laid shoulders with straight front and good bone. Deep chest under a gently sloping topline to a well angled rear. Another good mover. Not as together as 1 but very promising.

Feminine head of correct proportions and shape with dark hazel eyes and low set ears. Good length of neck to well made forequarters with good bone and neat feet. Level topline to correct tailset, deep well-sprung ribs to short loin and well angled rear. Super easy true driving mover. BOB

1st Timperley’s Silvestre Music Is My Soul. 7mth B. What a sweetie and very much a baby. Pretty feminine B with a pleasing head of good shape, well set ears, a little light in eye. Moderate angles all round. Lots of developing to do. Graceful true mover. BP & RBOB

1st Jones’ Silvestre Wednesday. 2yr B. Nice B with a pleasing head with correct breadth to skull, well set ears and hazel eyes. Good length of neck to well laid shoulders with good forechest & straight front. Well sprung ribs. Would like more rear angulation, true steady mover. BOB

1st Inman’s Foxriever Silver Wing among Keamora. 2yr Liver. Presents a good outline on the stand, pleasing head of correct shape and proportions with dark hazel eyes. Well laid shoulders and straight front. Deep well sprung ribs under a level topline. Well angled and well muscled rear. Rather sluggish on the move today. BOB

German Shorthaired Pointer

1st Bretherton’s Seasham Ring My Bell. 13mth B. Like this young B for her type, Feminine head of good shape and proportions. Good forequarters with well laid shoulders, straight front with good bone. Deep well sprung ribs under a level topline. Correct rear angles, needs to be moved a little quicker to really show her true movement. BOB
2nd Hunneybell’s Drysika Final Fling. 17mth upstanding masculine D. Good head proportions although as broad as I would want, well laid shoulders with good bone and feet and deep well-sprung ribs. I would like more rear angulation. Lacked reach and drive on the move.

1st Gargan’s Montalba Esmeralda. 21mth B. A wilful B of good type with a pleasing head. Well made forequarters, straight front with good bone and feet. Level topline over deep well-sprung ribs to a well angled rear. Free easy driving mover. RBOB

German Wirehaired Pointer

1st Geary’s Becka Dreams Of Little Prince at Germanus (Imp Hun) NAF RAF. 7mth B and what a super youngster. Lovely shape and size, correct through head with good breadth to skull, moderate stop and dark eyes. Super forequarters with well laid shoulders and good return of upper arm. Straight well boned front and tight feet. Deep chest under a level topline through to a well angled rear with good turn of stifle. A joy to watch on the move, smooth, true with and easy driving action. BOB, BP then later Group 3 and Puppy Group 2. One to watch.

1st Geary’s Germanus Hotwyr Minjarra JW. 2yr B and another presenting a pleasing outline. Correct through head with dark eyes, well laid shoulders but not the forechest of the puppy. Deep ribs through a strong loin to a well angled rear. Clean mover but not as tidy as the puppy. RBOB

1st Kassube & French’s Cararua Spring Pearl. 6mth B who presents a really nice outline, lovely head, long and lean with dark eyes and correctly set ears. Well made with well laid shoulders, good bone and neat feet. Deep chest through loin to a well angulated rear. Typical baby setter on the move but legs generally moving in the right direction. Good reach and drive for this age. Very promising puppy. BP

1st Kassube & French’s Thendara Hot Diamond at Cararua. Just 12mths this young dog is very impressive on the stand. Lovely outline, classic head, masculine but refined, long and lean with dark eyes. well laid shoulders with good forechest, straight front with good bone and tidy feet. Deep ribs through to a firm loin and a well angled rear. He looks to be a bit of a handful and needed more room to really stride out.

1st Alolfrana I Gotta Feeling of Millthyme. 20mth, liked tis D for his type and outline giving his handler a hard time. Classic long lean head with dark eyes into a muscular neck. Well laid shoulders with good forechest, deep ribs through to a short loin. Topline sloping gently to a well angled rear. Moved true with drive. RBOB
2nd Kassube & French’s Twoacres Chocolate Delight by Cararua. Feminine 3yr B with a pleasing head, dark eyes and well set ears. Good length of neck into well made forequarters and deep ribs. Stands with a level topline. Good rear angles. Moved well.

Good length of neck into super forequarters with well laid shoulders, return of upper arm and good forechest. Straight front with good bone. Deep ribs through a strong loin to a well angled, muscular rear. Clean & true with good drive on the move. BOB

Well made forequarters with well laid shoulders and return of upper arm. Correct spring of rib to short loin under a level back. Lovely rear with good turn of stifle. Steady true mover, a very promising puppy. BP

Well angled rear. Moved with drive, just a little wide in front today which cost her in the challenge. RBOB

Excels in forequarters with well laid shoulders, return of upper arm and good forechest, straight well boned front and neat feet. Deep ribs through strong loin to a well angled rear. Easy true driving mover. She set the bar for me today, BOB and later Group 1.
2nd Rigby’s Sh Ch Chesepi Waco – Retriever (Chesapeake Bay). 6yr, a solid masculine D, broad through skull, ears well set up, muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Well muscled all through with deep well-sprung ribs under a level topline to a moderate rear. Moved well.

Well laid shoulders, straight front with good bone. Well sprung ribs under a level topline, deep loin to a moderately angled rear. Coat of thick curls. An easy true mover. BIBR

2nd Parker’s Sh Ch Poniel Reason To Believe at Bruadarach ShCM ShCEx VW - Retriever (Labrador) Don’t tell him he is 11yrs old, he won’t believe you, he still thinks he is 5. So well made for and aft makes him a pleasure to go over. Well muscled throughout and in better condition that many youngsters. well laid shoulders, deep well-sprung ribs under a level topline to a well set tail. On the move he is still true and driving. A credit to his owners.
3rd Hewison’s Casblaidd Island In The Sky SGWC KCWGC Retriever (Flat Coated). At 7 yrs he is only a baby compared to the Labrador but her is another veteran who belies his years. Super outline, lovely head and well made fore and aft. In lovely condition and moved out with ease.
Res Rigby’s Chesepi Ulysses - Retriever (Chesapeake Bay). This 8yr old completed the lineup. Another strong masculine dog, well made fore and aft. Just not feeling it on the move today.

Gp4 Riley’s Wylloh Paddington Bear – Retriever (Golden). This youngster caught my eye, one of 3 puppies in my group lineup. 10mths and he ticked all the right boxes. Good shape, pleasing head with dark eyes, super forequarters with well laid shoulders and return of upper arm giving forechest. Deep well sprung ribs, deep loin all under a level topline and well set on tail. On the move he is so together, so true coming and going and easy driving in profile. Another very promising puppy.
