Portsmouth & Southsea Kennel Association

Such a shame that today clashed with a Golden Retriever Club Championship Show in the same area which decimated the societies entry. So thankyou to those who chose to come here.

Retriever (Golden)

Puppy (1,0)

1st Monteverde’s Olvinglay Gan Amhras [ATC BA62592Ita]. 11mth D and what a lovely youngster, typey and of a correct size. Love her head with well set ears and dark eyes with a thoughtful expression. Super forequarters with excellent forechest. Straight front with good bone. Well sprung ribs that reach to elbow under a level topline and correct tailset which he carries level on the move. Very good rear angles with good turn of stifle. Steady, true mover with drive. He just kept impressing me in each class, eventually winning BOB and BP.

Junior (3,0)

1st Monteverde’s Olvinglay Gan Amhras [ATC BA62592Ita]
2nd Todd’s Van Gogh Of Sunshine’s Valley with Toddrosa JW (Imp Bel). 16mth and another very nice youngster, similar in many ways to 1st but shorter in length of rib. Another good head with a soft expression from his dark eyes and well set ears. Strong neck into well made forequarters although lacking the forechest of the winner. Deep well sprung ribs under a level topline and correct tailset. Good rear angles with good turn of stifle. Moved well with drive.
3rd Wood’s Lebuinus Aria of Love

Graduate (4,2)

1st Monteverde’s Olvinglay Gan Amhras [ATC BA62592Ita]
2nd Tubb’s Pauternapaws By The Sea with Alsutu. 19mth D. Built on smaller lines but still correctly proportioned. Pleasing head with dark eyes and well-set ears. I would like a bit more forechest. Deep ribs under a level topline through to a well angulated rear. Moved with purpose, true fore and aft.

Post Graduate (2,0)

1st Withey’s Rosinante Major Hero. 4yr D. Presents a good outline. He has enough breadth across the skull and nice dark eyes and a happy expression aided by his ever wagging tail. Well muscled neck to well laid shoulders and return of upper arm he had the better forechest of the two. Good bone and neat feet. Deep chest and well sprung ribs back to a short loin and a well angled rear. Moved with reach and drive.
2nd Gulliver’s Tonara Moon Walk. 2yr D, shorter through body that 1st. Good proportions and a pleasing head with dark expressive eyes. Well laid shoulders and return of upper arm but not the forechest of 1st. Deep ribs, good bone and feet. Good rear angles but not as positive on the move.

Open (2,1)

1st Grantham’s Reflection of Wizngrace at Dajumija. 4yr B. Mature B with a lovely golden coat. Feminine head with dark eyes. Well made forequarters with well laid shoulders and return of upper arm, good bone and feet. Deep chest and loin under a level topline to a well angled rear. Moved steady with reach and drive, true all round.

Irish Setter

Puppy (6,1)

1st Russell’s Tiroen Touch of Magic by Settersoli (Imp KCJ) 7mth D. Liked his outline and movement at first look. Long lean head with dark eyes and well set ears held close. Clean neck into well laid shoulders, return of upper arm and good forechest. Straight front with good bone and feet. Deep chest through to a short loin under a very gently sloping topline which is correct at this age. Well angled rear. Best mover, true with some drive. BP
2nd Williamson’s Caskey’s United with Bluesprings. 11mth D, another of good type with correct long lean head with dark eyes. Very well-made forequarters with well laid shoulders and return of upper arm giving some forechest. Deep ribs under a gently sloping topline. Another good mover just not as clean in front on the move as the winner.
3rd Allum’s Zakhan’s Sky Dancer Del Macarica
Res King & Eccles’ Zakhan’s Dragonstone at Byztsar
VHC Mason’s Cataluna Mad About You In Finity

Post Graduate (4,1)

1st Rorke’s Zakhan’s Diamond Queen JW. 23mth B, feminine all through. Pleasing head, long and lean with dark eyes. Clean neck of moderate length through to very well-made forequarters with well laid shoulders, return of upper arm and good forechest. Good bone and feet. Slightly sloping topline over deep ribs, through a short loin to a well angulated rear. Slightly low tailset. Super mover, true all round with reach and drive.
2nd Maple’s Pollnac New Miracle. Another typey feminine B with a pleasing head of good length with dark eyes. Clean neck into well laid shoulders. I would like more return of upper arm but she does have a pronounced sternum. Good bone and feet. Lacking a slope to the topline and has moderate rear angles. Moved true with drive.
3rd Lake’s Bluesprings Blarney

Open (3,1)

1st Rorke’s Zakhan’s Diamond Jack JW. 23 Mth D and Litter brother to my PG winner. Oh my, what a lovely youngster. Super type and shape, racy, masculine with enough substance. Lovely head, long and lean of correct proportions. Moderately long, clean neck into well laid shoulders and correct return of upper arm giving the desired forechest. Good bone and close feet. Deep ribs with good spring to a short loin. Well angulated rear with good bend of stifle. Correct tailset and carriage. My notes say that he was “a bit of a numpty on the move but got there in the end” and I am sure his owner won’t mind me saying that. Best for reach and drive. BOB
2nd Peters’ Corranroo Hot Sensation at Shirlilah. 3yr B. Very feminine and of good overall shape and outline. Very feminine but I would like a little more depth in muzzle. Dark eyes and well-set ears, clean neck flows into well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm and nice forechest. Deep ribs, well back to a short loin and a well angled rear. Today she was a little ‘bouncy’ on the move.

Retriever (Labrador)

Junior (1,0)

1st King’s Linthwaite Mathilda (AI). This young 12mth B is just full of energy and character. When she concentrates she presents a lovely outline, she has a feminine head of correct proportions and lovely dark eyes. Her neck flows into very well-made forequarters with well laid shoulders and good forechest. A level topline over deep well-sprung ribs and deep loin. Correct rear angles with well-turned stifle. Tail set and carried correctly. Moves steady and true when she concentrates with sufficient reach and drive.

Super forequarters with well laid shoulders, return of upper arm, forechest and a well boned straight front to neat feet. Deep well sprung ribs, short muscular loin to a well angulated rear with a good turn of stifle & width of ham. Best mover, true all round with reach and drive. BOB
2nd Longhurst’s Hurstmeon Just My Cup of Tea. 20mth Black B. Another of good size and shape although today carrying a little excess round the waist.
