Veteran Dog 3, 1 abs

1st Bayne’s Corranroo Casper: This veteran of 11 years looked amazing. He was presented in excellent condition, My notes say athletic, of moderate length, full of quality with great spring of rib. He has a dark eye and melting expression. His strong neck flowed into well laid shoulders, level back, good angulation, fore and aft, with correct tailset, presenting a balanced outline. Stood on tight neat feat and his movement was one of the best on the day with real drive from his well-muscled hindquarters. RBD, BVD & BVIS.

2nd Green’s Sh Ch Zendarric Heart Shaped Box with Viszaset: At 5 days short of 8 years of age really belies his age. Head has correct parallel planes to his muzzle and a soft expression. A little longer than 1 but still a good example of the breed. Having correct balanced angulation front and rear, level back with correct croup and tail set. Has a strong long neck, leading into well placed shoulders. Deep chest with strong loins and plenty of width to his well-muscled rear quarters, Lovely coat with the slightest of wave. Presents a lovely outline with good bend of stifle. Sadly, did not seem to enjoy the indoor floor on the day.

Stood on neat tight feet and moved well. Very promising. BPD & BPIS

A strong class with the first two both meeting the standard for athleticism and substance.

Good spring of rib and deep in brisket. Well coated being pearl white and rich red patches without roaning. Feet not his forte, I was looking for well rounded , tight, arched feet lacking in many today . His balanced angulation and well-muscled rear quarters enabled him to show good movement complimented by good use of his tail having the correct tailset.

Comments

The breed appears to be in good hands with many enthusiastic owners and breeders. Care needs to be taken in addressing markings and feet. The standard calls for solid red patches and these preferably should be a maximum of 40% red in all. Feet should be close knit well, feathered between the toes and ideally well rounded with arched toes. Some were flat and or hare shaped . This is a lovely breed , one which I have owned and loved. It is good to see it doing so well, I recall being at Crufts watching as you first had tickets and as I type this I see a Red and White pulled out in the Gundog Group at Crufts. What a delight in your 40th anniversary year.
