American Cocker Spaniels.

Puppy (1,0) 1st Ms S Archer – Zarcrest After Cut For Tallisbay. 6 month old Black and White bitch. Such a merry little character. Feminine head with distinct stop and soft, yet expressive eyes. Good length to neck into deep sloping shoulders. Straight front with enough bone for current build and standing on compact feet. Body needs time to mature but presents a compact, balanced outline. On the move she was excitable but covered the ground well, driving from the rear. BP (and later pleased to see her awarded Reserve Best Puppy in Show).

Post Graduate (2,1) 1st Mrs S & Miss K Walden – Taramount Golden Ticket. 2 year old Buff male. Nice head of good proportions with broad muzzle and distinct stop. Good length to neck into sloping shoulders. Deep in chest with well sprung ribs. Strong, compact body with well muscled hind quarters. In excellent coat and displaying a balanced outline. Moved out very well with drive, covering the ground effortlessly. BOB

Open (1,0) 1st Mrs S & Miss K Walden – Truly Yours Clear Magic For Taramount (Imp DNK). 5 year old Buff bitch, dam to BOB winner. Pleasing feminine head with alert, expressive eyes. Straight front with ample bone for her build, deep in chest with good spring of rib. Short coupled and strong though hindquarters. Moved well, using an ever wagging tail to her advantage. RBOB.

Cocker Spaniels.

Puppy (4,2) 1st Mrs S Warrington – Zakova Santana.11 month old Black dog. Caught my eye when initially stacked for his balanced outline. Nice square muzzle and low set ears of good length and feathering. Good length to neck into sloping shoulder. Well sprung ribs for his age. Good rear angulation and move well around the ring. Seriously considered for RBOB. BP 2nd Mrs S Warrington – Sun Kat Zakova. 9 month old Black bitch. Smaller build than 1, as expected, but well proportioned. Feminine head, straight in front with ample none for build. Compact in body, which needs to mature. Moved well but not as settled as 1.

Special Yearling (4,3) 1st Mr J & Mr D Hutton-Baber – Esqueen I’m Iconic For Babtonkelpie (Imp POL). Almost 2 year old Black and White bitch. Smaller but well proportioned bitch with good head shape and gentle eye expression. Good length to neck and fine, sloping shoulders. Good angulation fore and aft. Body is compact and sturdy. Moved out well.

Post Graduate (4,3) 1st Mr & Mrs D Rofe – Villaspaniol Gold Flash. 3 year old Golden male. An amazing temperament, certainly full of life and exuberance! Good head proportions and ear size and set. Compact and strong through the body with deep chest. Firm over loin into strong, wide rear quarters. Sound movement using his ever wagging tail, which could be carried slightly more level. RBOB.

Open (5,2) 1st Mr J & Mr D Hutton-Baber – Esqueen Following Star At Babtonkelpie (Imp POL) JW. 3 year old Blue Roan bitch. Having judged this girl as a puppy it was pleasing to see her early promise coming into maturity. She presents a compact, balanced outline. A feminine head with gentle, expressive eyes. Straight front with bone proportionate to her build, stood on firm feet. Level topline and firm through loin to muscular, wide hindquarters. Moved out well, flicking her pads up as she drives. BOB (and later please to see her awarded Reserve Best in Show). 2nd Mrs S Warrington – Zakova Wise Guy JW. 15 month old Black male. Another super dog who was immaculately presented. Masculine throughout, his head displaying square muzzle and good proportions. Compact and strong through the body with well sprung ribs. He moved well with drive and purpose. Close decision, but preferred overall balance and maturity of 1 on the day. 3rd Mr & Mrs D Rofe – Villaspaniol Sunny Delight.

Special Beginners (29,16) 1st Mrs L Barham – Alozia Zephryne.10 month old Liver & White Pointer bitch. Good size and shape to the head with well defined stop. Long neck into well laid sloping shoulders. Body needs to mature throughout but well constructed. Moved very soundly with drive from rear. 2nd Mrs J & Mr S Woodhams – Kulawand Casanova. 15 moth old Flat Coated Retriever dog. Loved his masculine head with flat skull and dark eye. Deep in chest and straight legs with good bone. Muscular rear quarters. Sound and true on the move using his swishing tail as he went. 3rd Mrs L Maple – Pollnac New Miracle.

Brace (11,8) 1st Mrs V Searles – Spanish Water Dogs. This mother and son pairing were very similar in type, size and construction. On the move they went out as a pair, staying together with the young male happy to maintain a brisk stride beside his dam. 2nd Mrs V Bowen – Flat Coated Retrievers. Another mother and son pairing with lovely head similarities. On the move, at the times when together, they were in sync in easy free flowing movement. 3rd Mrs J Willams & Mrs D & Miss P Toublic – Englsh Springer Spaniels.

KC Good Citizen Dog Scheme (22,15) 1st Miss G Mennen & Mr N Sweeney – Joneva Just Imagine JW. 2 year old Orange & White Pointer dog. This upstanding dog captures your eye when entering the ring. Liked his head expression and kind eye. His long muscular neck is in balance and proportion to his strong body. Good angulation. Moving he covered the ground with ease in smooth motion. 2nd Mrs L Lillicrap – Mizani Sebio Iola. 4 year old Brown Lagotto Romagnolo bitch. She is small, squarely built with feminine head of good proportions. She moved so freely around the ring with drive. Loved the character of this bitch. 3rd Mrs L Barham – Alozia Zephryne.

Members’ Stakes (4,2) 1st Mrs V Bowen – Clandrift Bring Me Sunshine JW. 21 month old Flat Coated Retriever dog. Masculine head with kind expression. Good bone, deep chest and well angulated front and rear. Strong muscular hindquarters. Effortless movement around the ring, straight coming and going. 2nd Mrs C Carpenter – Aschfahl Kepa Secret. 12 month old Weimaraner bitch. Good length to skull with moderate stop. Kind light eye. Nice long neck into sloping shoulder. Straight front and deep chest. Short coupled with strong muscular rear quarters. Moved well but not the presence of 1.

Champion Stakes (5,2) 1st Mr S & Mrs W Walker – Sh Ch Dexbenella Atticus Finch ShCEx. 7 year old Liver & White English Springer Spaniel dog. Lovely masculine head with good chiselling below his melting dark eyes. Good length of neck into well set shoulders. Good spring of rib and strong through the loin and rear quarters. Moved with ease around the ring demonstrating front movement swinging from the shoulder. 2nd Miss S Axtell – Int Sh Ch/NL Ch Patouche Lyra For Callmillard. 9 year old Liver Tri-Coloured Brittany bitch. Feminine head using her eyes and ears well to give that Brittany expression. Stacked she presented a square, cobby outline with good length of leg. Muscular rear quarters. Moved well with a short brisk gait around the ring. 3rd Mrs R Allum – Sh Ch Macarica Fair And Square JW.
