1. Thomas & Bull’s Phoria’s Seventh Heaven. Super, happy and confident 2yo male. Loved his ‘square’ head. Powerful in build and firm in body – demonstrating strength without coarseness. Good bone and feet. On the move he demonstrated the sense of purpose asked for, maintaining topline and with good drive from the rear. BOB /Group 4

Doberman:

Junior (3,2)

1. Groves & Hyett’s Lateagain Wish Upon A Star. 8 mo bitch pup – a really lovely example. Elegant, clean head of good length, with correct ear set. Good expression. Good length of neck and lovely compact body with good topline and tail set. Good bone and feet. Coat shone in the sunshine. Topped off with sound and typical movement. I was bowled over. BOB/BPIB Group2/Puppy Group 1.

Post Graduate (2,1)

1. Groves, Christensen & Hyett’s Lateagain Starstruck. Litter brother to above. Brown; very masculine. Overall shared many good characteristics of his sibling, with size commensurate with his sex. Good head and neck, correct in outline with good topline and tailset and correct for bone and feet, fit and sound on the move. On the day the bitch just pipped him on attitude. Great pups.

1. Massey & McGeoch’s Manzart Zebedee JW. Handsome 2yo brown male. Very good make and shape – strong in head, good neck and overall proportions. Could be slightly cleaner in head and dewlap. Another fit, well-muscled dog and strong on the move. RBOB

2. Wedgbury’s Manzart Xtra Special JW. Very pretty 2yo bitch with good outline and proportions. Another sound mover – just not as settled as 1 today.

Working AVNSC:

Puppy (3,1)

1. Williams, Newton & Black’s Rarjo Macduff Making Waves with Megulcie (Portuguese Water Dog). The first of several very nice PWD I had the chance to go over today. This 10mo bitch, pretty, feminine head, good square body outline, lovely front and rear angles and so sound on the move. Presented beautifully. BPIB. Ran the Dobermann pup very close to take PGroup2.

2. Hooley & Hooleys Bartkennels Ljosalfar (Alaskan Malamute). 7 mo Mal – very much the baby here. She is developing well with correct head and good ears, sufficient bone and good feet. Nice overall make and shape. Sympathetically handled. Started out a little unsure, but both pup and handler gained in confidence.

3. Rawlinson’s Zimbroport Bynack More (Portuguese Water Dog)

Junior (3)

1. Williams, Newton & Black’s Rarjo Macduff Making Waves with Megulcie (Portuguese Water Dog). Notes as before.

2. Hooley & Hooleys Black Stripe at Dokkalfar (Alaskan Malamute). Male of 17 months. A lovely, masculine headpiece, with well placed ears and correct eye shape. Loved his overall expression. Of good proportions with sufficient angulation. Very active on the move.

3. Rawlinson’s Zimbroport Bynack More (Portuguese Water Dog)

Post Graduate (3,1)

1. Cunningham’s Siberiadrift Daring Minx From Icebex JW (Siberian Husky). BAVNSC. Very feminine 2yo bitch with a lovely head and expression. In outline she is so well balanced and of lovely proportions. Elegant and athletic in profile and moves so soundly.

2. Mardle & Barton’s Auldhelm Charmed One (Portuguese Water Dog). Lovely brown male of lovely shape and proportions. Profuse coat, which was well presented. Movement was very sound.

Open (7,2)

1. Snelson’s Azgard Monticristo at Ashtrax (Siberian Husky). Another quality dog – Masculine black and white sibe, Good head, perhaps a little strong, with lovely eye shape. Well-proportioned and super-fit boy with lovely movement, timing and foot placement. RBAVNSC

2. Smith’s Ch/IntCh/IrCh Gemson Alfamar of Oldeely(Portuguese Water Dog). Super front on this nice black male. Handsome in head and good overall proportions. Another in lovely coat and well presented. On the move he was very sound.

Any Variety Working Veteran:

1. Norton & Thomas’ Aveyrew Hot Gossip at Carantana (Russian Black Terrier). What a lovely veteran! A giant of a girl, but feminine all through. Lovely front and rear and a topline many younger dogs would appreciate! In super condition and very sound on the move. Best Any Variety Veteran (Working)

2. Thomas & Bull’s Ch Optimus Eurphoria (Bullmastiff). Another great veteran bitch. So very fit with lovely bone and feet. Attractive head with well set ears and great bite. On the stand showed a lovely, typical profile; on the move she was so sound and gave her handler a good run! Loved her!

3. Smith’s Ch Auldhelm Xquisite ShCM (Portuguese Water Dog)

4. Mardle & Barton’s Ch Aulldhelm Bizzy Lizzie (Portuguese Water Dog)

5. Snelson’s Niflheim Blade at Ashtrax (Siberian Husky)

1. Strachan’s Waldershelf A Bonnie Lass (Entelbucher Mountain Dog). What a joy, my very first Entelbucher! Lovely 7mo bitch puppy, displaying all the key breed points. Of correct size and proportions, longer than high, and in fit puppy condition. Feminine, clean head, strong neck and well angulated front and rear. Sufficient chest and good ribbing and good underline. Moved freely around the ring and had drive. Lovely introduction to the breed. BAVIR and BP

1. Chapman’s Nandobears You’ll Never Walk Alone (Newfoundland – Imp Deu). Impressive Newfie that I had seen in the ring earlier in the day and admired.
