Kent County Canine Association 18th August 2024 Judge: Paulina O’Gorman – Berrymeade Many thanks to the lovely Committee of Kent County CA for inviting me to judge at this friendly and so well organised show. The rings were of good size, and I had 2 lovely stewards who kept it well organised – thank you Claire and Rebecca. Thank you to the Exhibitors for entering their dogs and for giving me the chance to go over them, as well as for gracefully accepting all my decisions. GOLDEN RETRIEVER P (5, 1a) 1. Smith’s Mrs R & Mrs C Rosgar Mr Lover Lover I immediately fell for this boy for his gorgeous head, sweet expression and the darkest of pigments. This 9-month-old boy is of good size and stands on strong, straight legs of good length and bone, and very lovely round, well-arched feet. He has a clean neck and matching front and rear angulation. Short coupled body, tight elbows and good spring of rib for his age. His strong topline is perfectly level on the move and once he’s ‘dropped into’ his stifle it will also be very level while standing. Without a doubt he was the best mover of the day, a pleasure to watch him floating around the ring with such ease, straight coming and going, reaching out and powering from the rear. A promising puppy. BP 2. Linfield’s Tonara Yellowstone Another youngster with a lovely, clean outline. There is nothing overdone here, starting with his masculine head possessing the kindest of expressions. This boy stands on strong legs with good bone and lovely cat-like feet. Deep in body, short coupled and level topline, good bend of stifle. He moved out well with straight front and rear movement. A lovely young man that was rather unlucky to meet the winner today. 3. Foremans’ Mr G & Mrs T Ambersun Head Over Heels J (2, 1a) 1. Foremans’ Mr G & Mrs T Ambersun Summer Son The moment this dog enters the ring you think : what a happy lad! He is of good size and he is exactly where he should be with maturity for the age. He excels in length of leg and matching front and rear angulation, all in a complete balance. Masculine head with kind eye, good length of neck, level topline. He walks into his stand which is really lovely to see. He moves well, he just needs more time to tighten up a little, which is perfectly fine considering his tender age. PG (4, 1a) 1. Todd’s Van Gogh Of Sunshine’s Valley With Toddrosa (IMP BEL) JW One I’ve been in the ring with on many occasions before, but it’s the first time I had a chance to judge. He is all dog as he is well up for size and has a well-proportioned, masculine, but soft head. In lovely pale coat, this boy presented an overall balance. He has a strong topline that he carries level on the move as he strides around the ring. He is in no way overdone and for that he stood out in this class for me today. He moved well presenting a correct rear movement. RBOB 2. Eves’ Mr K & Mrs J Zannagold Follow The Sun At Bannersoph I liked this bitch for her clean outline and feminine head. Lovely front construction, straight legs of good length. She is a pretty bitch just over 2 years of age that will take her time to mature. I just would like a shorter coupling. She moved out well. 3. Wiltons’ Mr D M & Mrs J E Zannagold Hey Jude At Meddobe O (1, 0a) 1. Pounds-Longhurst’s Mossburn Galloping Major JW My notes say: ‘what a fantastic condition!’ Lovely outline on this 3.5-year-old boy just reaching his maturity. Masculine head with good proportions, reachy neck with good layback of shoulder. He has good angulation fore and aft, good length of leg, well let-down hocks and he is short coupled. Deep in body with well sprung ribs, level topline that he maintains while moving around the ring. He presents a very balanced outline and carries himself well, I just would like a little bit more on enthusiasm on the move. One of the dogs today whose rear movement was straight and correct. BOB
