I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge the Hound classes, Hound Group and the Minor Puppy Stakes class. I had a lovely day and was well looked after by my superb steward. 

All the exhibits were well presented in clean condition, no incorrect bites. Thank you to all exhibitors for accepting my decisions in a sporting manner.

AVNSC Hound.

Puppy (2)

Wood’s Beaujons Anton Du Beke. Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen. Best AVNSC Puppy. 10month old lemon and white dog. Handsome head and good reach of neck flowing into correct shoulder placement. Ribs rounded and well let down. Good body length and correct tail set. Muscular hindquarters that drove around the ring with ease.

Read’s. Snuggletooth Cup Cake. Irish Wolfhound. 10 month old grey bitch. Sweet feminine head with dark eyes and good length of muzzle. Deep chest, good length of back with correct bend stifle. I preferred the movement of 1.

Junior (2)

Larkin’s Asharaa’s Hey There George Girl. Rhodesian Ridgeback Best AVNSC Hound. 14 month old bitch. Took my eye as she walked into the ring. Excellent ridge and two crowns. Dignified feminine head, round dark eyes and deep muzzle. Clean neck, good forequarters and front construction. Deep chest and strong loins. Correct tail set and well muscled hindquarters. Beautiful outline. Her movement was a joy as she effortlessly and elegantly covered the ground.

Parker’s Asharaa’s She’s Magic to Azuli. Rhodesian Ridgeback. Litter sister to 1 and slightly smaller, but well balanced. Correct ridge and crowns. Similar construction to her sister. Good head and correct ear placement. Powerful hindquarters and correct tail set.

Post Graduate (1)

Bate’s Marksbury Rockerfella at Karames. Bloodhound. 22 month old dog. Masculine noble head, and correct ear set nicely curling inward. Well sloped muscular shoulders, and well sprung ribs. Correct tail set, a little reluctant on the move today.

Threadgold’s Ch Norvin Joyeux Noel. Norwegian Elkhound.Res Best ANVSC Hound. 5 year old bitch. Lovely head with alert dark eyes and correct ear set. Powerful neck with good ruff. Correct front and rear construction. Beautiful coat, level top line and correct curled tail set. Moved effortlessly going and coming.

Cramphorn’s Yelzba Bonnie. Irish Wolfhound. 5 year old grey bitch. I liked her gentle expression and front construction with good feet. Good body length and depth of chest. Hind quarters were well developed and she moved effortlessly around the ring.

Skerritt & Betts’ Beaujons Vagabond of Monkhams. Petite Bassett Vendeen. 7yr old dog. A mature hound. Handsome head,of correct proportions. Well laid back shoulders and correct upper arm length, with correct angulations front and rear. I liked his ring presence as he showed himself off, obviously enjoying he day.

Richardson & Wood’s Woodella Purple Haze Over Cooperland ShCM VW. Basenji. 9 year old Tri colour bitch. Well chiselled head, dark eyes slightly hooded ears, giving a lovely feminine expression. Elbows well tucked in to a smart balanced body. Well constructed hindquarters and neat feet.

Hills’ Lux Ch Way Up Radio Waves (imp ITA) Lux JCH. BOB. 2 year old black masked gold dog. Beautiful head with dark triangular eyes giving the aloof expression. Long sloping shoulders set well back. Moderate back falling slightly to the stern and powerful hindquarters. Low set tail with correct ring. Super coat that created a super flow on the move.

Boydell’s Nightwind you Can’t Stop The Beat. Res. BOB 7 year old black dog. A larger frame than 1. Handsome head. Good body length and construction. Presented in good condition and showed well. I just preferred the confirmation and movement of 1. These could change places another time.

Stratton’s Justartee This is Me. Res BOB. Best Puppy. 9 month r/w old bitch. Feminine head with lovely intelligent expression, correct head plains and ear set. Correct shape with deep brisket. Strong hocks with long second thighs. Moved smartly coming and going.

Richardson & Wood’s Ch Momba Tonga Empress Eugenia of Cooperland JW (Imp ITA) BOB. 6 year old tri bitch. Head well chiselled and of medium width. Correct ear set, neck strong and of good length. Sound front and strong hindquarters. Tail set high with correct tight curve over her back. Another smart mover.

Fairchild’s Restinim Miss Whiplash 1 year old black & tan bitch. Pretty head, with dark eyes. Correct ear set, well feathered. Well ribbed with sufficient ground clearance. Tail carried correctly on the move.

McCarthy’s Nagshall The Odd Excuse JW Res BOB. 21 month old sable bitch. Very feminine head of correct length. Dark almond shaped eyes giving a lovely expression. Correct angulation of fore and hindquarters. Moved well maintaining level topline.

McCarthy’s Nagshall Duce The Ice JW BOB. 2 yr old sable dog. Masculine head, good conical muzzle and correct dark almond eye. Clean, slightly arched neck. Good front construction of correct proportions and angulation. Prominent chest bone.Strong hindquarters. Tight feet. Beautiful soft coat which enhanced his flow of movement. Topline maintained on the move.

Broad’s Bronia Wolfgang Puck. 3 year old red dog. Muzzle slightly shorter than 1. Good eye set and colour. Nice angulation front and rear, with upper arm close to ribs. I preferred head and movement of 1.

Forge’s Normplug Roman Holiday JW. 16 month old Black and Tan dog. Good head and length of muzzle. Correct front angulation and strong breast bone, neat feet. Good ribbing and level topline. Well rounded hindquarters with correct tail set and carriage on the move. 

Pearman & Sherwood’s Delandmar Miss Daisy Best Puppy. 9 month old Black and Tan bitch. Smaller shape than 1, sound front and hindquarters. Good length of muzzle and pleasing eye shape and colour. Moved with drive maintaining correct tail carriage.

Revell’s Veederhall Lullaby BOB. 2 year old Black and Tan bitch. Super head size and shape. Strong prominent breastbone, and correctly ribbed. Good body length. Angulation front and rear correct, and neat feet. Beautiful outline that did not disappoint on the move.

Pearman & Sherwood’s Delandmar Herbert Wood. 18 month old tan dog. Pleasing head and eye. Sound front construction and sufficient breastbone. Moved well with correct tail carriage.

Pearman & Sherwood’s Delandmar Ella Fitzgerald Res BOB 3 year old shaded red bitch. Good length of head and dark eyes. Correct ear size, shape and set. Good keel and rib cage. Fore and hind quarters correctly angled. Level top line which was maintained on the move.

Forge’s Normpug Tiger Eyes. 5 year old Black and Tan bitch. Correct head and ear set. Well constructed front and neat feel. Good ribbing and level topline. Moved true coming and going.

Wilson’s Boughton Busy Lizzie for Hamiltonhill Whippet 7 month old fawn and white bitch. Well balanced of correct size. Clean cut head with bright oval eyes and rose shaped ears. Strong neck, well laidback shoulders and straight forearms. Hindquarters had well developed second thighs. Sound mover with long easy stride.

Casey’s Cootscanis Star at Eversden Min Smooth Dachshund 13 month old red bitch. Nice length of head, sound front and hindquarters. Neat feet. Moved well with correct tail carriage.

Knowles’ Kuriwao Rocco Whippet. 2.5 month old brindle and white Dog. Neat head with correct shaped ears and eyes. Straight front with correct proportions. Deep chest and well sprung ribs. Neat oval feet, knuckles well arched. Hocks well let down. Sound mover.

Seviour’s Evaluna Leave Your Hat On with Kawrsing Whippet. 4 year old brindle and white dog. Well balanced with well arched neck and correct shoulder placement. Correct tuck up, strong hindquarters. Moved well.

Minor Puppy Stakes (9)

Spurling’s Jelabobs Paco Rabanne for Dantrecar Old English Sheepdog 7 month old Dog. Superb coat. Good size. Strong square muzzle. Straight front, good bone throughout. Hindquarters gently arched with good turn of stifle and low hock. Effortlessly moved round the ring with strong rear action.

Kennedy’s Droveborough’s Hells Bells Pointer. 8 month old bitch. A well built aristocratic young lady. I liked her ring presence, good profile which did not disappoint on the move. Good head proportions and eye set. Muscular slightly arched neck and well laid back shoulders. Correct well turned stifles.
