CRYSTAL PALACE, April 14

STAKES (42) 1 Poynter’s Hernwood Cooper King, what an excellent moving Gordon Setter dog who appears to be just coming into his own, looked the part here & really stood out for he is well coated, he is balanced & very typical but when he moves he stood out for his correct footfall & correct head carriage, strong topline & well set & carried tail.Won in an excellent class with some lovely dogs to start well; 2 Ferry’s Ch Ferrybelle’s Take Cover JW, a pretty Japanese Spitz who I have liked before, I see she is now a champion, for a small dog she certainly made her presence felt, never gave up showing & put down in excellent coat & condition; 3 McEwan’s PBGV, Arunnel Orinoco. BRIARDS - J (2) 1 RBOB, Wilson’s Jandade Precious Secret, very feminine black bitch who was put down in excellent coat & condition, balanced outline which really shows in her profile movement using her head position correctly, strong topline & correct tailset, good feminine head proportions with a good eye & nice ear carriage, held that strong topline set up which was where she won over 2 Biddlecombe’s Chavell European Secret, fawn who is just out of puppy & still needs to firm up & grow into his frame, very masculine dog whose sex you couldn’t mistake, moved well & will be interesting to see his progress. PG (1) 1 J Precious Secret. BSD - TERVUEREN - J (1) 1 O‘Donnell’s Fablehawk Faramir, 11 months old dog who is just right for age, needs to finish but he showed really well for a baby, lovely head & expression, lovely eyes of the correct shape & colour, well set & carried ears, good neck & shoulders, held his topline well & has a hindquarter which was just right, when he settled he moved well, lovely presentation. BP & PG3. PG (4,1) 1 E Unisieppari; 2 Aristides-Pickard’s Sambreeze Mikki Bear Cub, put down in a well presented coat in lovely condition, very mature with a masculine head, would have preferred an eye giving a softer expression but his head proportions was ok. First time I had the chance to go over him & I wasn’t disappointed. He is so sound & what a mover belying his age. I see he is half brother to Witches Promise too. Loved his head & expression, he has attitude & when he moves you forget his size for he is so light on his feet & covers the ground with ease particularly in profile.
