Dalmatian Club Of Scotland

Dalmatian Club Of Scotland 21.6.24 Open Show

Special Award Classes

Judge: Nina Pace (Sadiedel)

Thankyou to the DCoS committee for my invitation to judge and thankyou to the exhibitors who entered under me, especially at a double show.

We had use of the champ show ring, which was sufficient in size and of good surface

Yearling D/B (7 entries, 3 absent. 1 entry missing from catalogue)

1st Quayle's - Cubalibre Wishing Star liver B

One with plenty of bone and substance throughout, balanced with good angulation. Strong head yet feminine with nice proportions, pleasing length with arched neck carried well into a laid back shoulder, correct shoulder and upper arm angulation. Deep brisket meeting elbow. Level top line. Balanced rear angulation, developing nice muscle tone especially for age. Moved with purpose in all directions.

2nd Barnes- Steyndal Baroness liver B

One I've judged before, she is maturing nicely. Close decision between the two. Today I preferred the front angulation and topline of the winner.

She made a pleasing outline both on the stand and on the move, a girl that has substance yet retains her elegance. Feminine head, sporting nicely decorated ears. Prefered her head shape, neck of fair length, well defined wither and ribs carried well back, strong slightly arched loin. Moved well in all directions

3rd Bryder's -Diocletian Aberfeldy

Stricking black B. This girl kept drawing my attention, I found her very eye catching. Love her head with correct equal proportions and sweet expression. Decent length of neck and well defined wither, level top line, good length to rib cage and depth to brisket. Let down today by her rear movement

Reserve Ward's- Louabidora Show Stopper At Frankish Black B

Nicely decorated girl, good head proportions with a slightly lighter eye. Nice body shape although a tad square, well defined wither and level top line. Good amount of bone and substance with nice tight feet

Limit D/B (7,2)

1st Derrick's - Kalokairie's Hocus Pocus liver B

Feminine, elegant and balanced throughout. Although decoration lacking full body coverage sporting a window on one side

Pleasing head, with a fair length of neck. Level top line, good rib cage and strength to loin, deep brisket. Good turn of stifle with hocks well defined.

Movement was hit and miss, at times handler moved too fast, causing her to overreach

2nd Smith's -Rapanooey Sugar Donut at Spotamour JW Black D

Another I have previously judged, this boy is well built in body and masculine throughout, being well off for bone and substance. I liked his strong neck which sported a nice arch, into well defined withers and a laid back shoulder. Super front angulation, deep brisket, level top line and well muscled rear. Moved well in all directions

He's body was strong yet retained elegance of a Dalmatian.

3rd Brooks & Derozario's -Jemblewood Jelly Baby Black B

Attractive girl, nicely decorated throughout.

Liked her head proportions, positive length of neck into a well defined wither. Pleasing length to ribs. Well defined stifle. Over tracking on the move

Open D/B (7,2)

Difficult class, I liked my first 3 for all different reasons and they had changed places a few times before my final decision

1st Finlay's -Dvojica Excuse My French at Dalfin JW Black B

Won the class on her elegance

Attractive girl who displays good symmetry, pleasing head and length of neck. Well defined wither, level top line with slight rise over loin. Feminine with substance, well muscled throughout.

Lost focus on move at times

2nd Page's - Winflash Chanel Paris Black B

Heavier set girl

Loved her movement, moved with purpose showing good reach and drive. Prefered her angulation

Strong head, good length of neck into well laid back shoulder with well defined wither. Equal shoulder and upper arm length. Ribs well set back.

Would prefer her to be slightly more feminine

3rd Norgrove's - Sassydals Flugel Horn Liver D

Strong head with well broken spotted ears carried correctly, beautiful kind eye of good colour. Heavier boy, with plenty of bone and substance, balanced throughout, would prefer him a bit tighter in places.

Held top line on the move with lovely economic action moved true in all direction, best mover in class.
