Horley & District Show Society
I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge, and the exhibitors for entering. It was a lovely venue although a bit windy at times, which unsettled some of the dogs. I had an excellent steward who kept everything in order. The group was outstanding, on another day could easily change places.
Cairn Terriers

1st McIntyre’s Castleline Lucas of Macantsaoir
Head showing alert expression with neat well placed ears, dark eyes and definite stop. Straight front, pleasing body length to height ratio, level topline which she maintains on the move. Presented in correct double coat of good length. BP

1st McIntyre’s Celtic Warrior
Masculine dog with typical expression, with well-set ears, dark eyes, strong muzzle and dark points. Neck of good length, well sprung rib, and adequate bone. Hocks are well let down, moved freely. RBOB
2nd Udova’s Barry Burin The Brave
Heavier type with a masculine head. Ears are a little wide and would prefer a shorter muzzle. He has a good lay of shoulder, body length and rear angulation. Acceptable furnishings. Would prefer to see him carry a little less weight.

1st Morley’s Kanawha Spy Man
Mature wheaten brindle dog, with broad head, correct bite and has a good strength to his muzzle. Shoulders are well laid, with enough spring of rib, firm topline and powerful hindquarters. Moved with attitude and showed good reach and drive. Presented in correct double coat. BOB
2nd McIntyre’s Cannwood Celtic Charm
Compact bitch with straight front and enough bone. She has a delightful expression, pleasing head proportions with dark medium sized eye. Like her for size and overall balance. Coat of correct texture and length. Moved freely.

Predominately white bitch with tan head, flat skull and foreface moderately chiselled. Her back is level with slight arch above loin, ribs well sprung, short coupled and muscular hindquarters. Moved well. RBOB

This bitch is in excellent condition, appealing head with keen expression, a dark eye and small V shaped ears. She had a straight front, chest deep, sloping shoulders, and muscular loin. Thighs are powerful and she has a pleasing tail set. Moved well with drive. BOB

Liked this bitch for her body proportions with correct leg length to body ratio, she has a charming head with well defined stop, strength of foreface and almond shaped eye. Beautifully presented in a super white coat and tan markings. Moved effortlessly BOB
2nd Rees’s Blazingjacks Top Gun With Eremos
Has a good reach of neck, level topline, oval rib cage and is spannable. Masculine head with dark eye, correct scissor bite and large teeth He has good bone and substance, but he is longer in body and shorter in leg than I would prefer. Moved steadily.

A little nervous so it was difficult to handle on the table, but a lot to like, She has a wedge shaped head with flat skull and good ear set, although was flying her ears today. She has a good depth of rib, correct arch over loin and enough tuck up. Liked her for size. Beautiful fine coat.in excellent condition. BP& RBOB

This young dog is alert with a keen expression, dark eye, neat well placed ears, and correct wedge shaped head. Forelegs quite straight, fairly long neck into sloping shoulders well sprung ribs with correct rise over loin. Hocks well let down. Moved with good reach and drive. BOB

This dog presents a stunning profile, a lovely headpiece with triangular shape and good strength, an elegant reach of neck, with muscular well laid shoulders. Good depth of rib, medium length of body and pleasing rise over loin. She has powerful hindquarters which powers her effectively around the ring.
2nd Nash’s Ralph Of The House At Raphiggy ShCEx VW - Norfolk
This dog never disappoints, he is a true showman, with a keen alert expression, good width of skull, neat well placed ears, a good length of neck, well sprung rib, short in loin, and good bend of stifle. He is a joy to watch as he moves effortlessly keeping his topline. Presented in an excellent double jacket.

This bitch has a lovely dark hazel eye of good size, and a short muzzle giving a beautiful expression, she is narrow throughout with a little tuck up and good body proportions. Jacket coming along nicely and she has a thick pliable pelt. Moved soundly.

Red dog, been difficult for his owner today, he has a good length of muzzle, with tight lips, correct scissor bite and neat ears. He is well off for bone and stood square. Front straight with good bone, deep brisket, well sprung rib and muscular hindquarters. Moved well once settled.

A smart young dog, who is most appealing, with nothing overstated. He has a typical otter head, with moderately broad skull, dark eye and small neat well placed ears. His neck is long enough and set well into shoulders, with well sprung ribs, muscular loin, racy hindquarters, and hocks well let down. Thick pliable movable pelt and his coat is coming on nicely. Moved steadily and has a good length of stride. Pleased to see him go RBIS
2nd Davies & Kettle Bettyhill New Kid in Town – Dandie Dinmont Terrier
Strongly made head of correct proportions, dark full eye, with intelligent expression, well filled muzzle, ears pendulous ears set wide apart, his head is covered in a profuse topknot in excellent condition. Shoulders are well laid back, his body is long and muscular with correct arch over loin and drop to tail. Moves with good extension and drive carrying his tail in balance. Beautifully presented.
3rd Burrage’s Sametova Bacary – Cesky
One I have judged and admired before and pleasing to see he has got his act together and is now a real showman. His head is of good size and proportion with dark eye, medium sized pendulous ears. He has muscular shoulders, and good length of neck with excellent reach, a good length to his loin with slight tuck up. Moved with propulsion.
4th Hanningtons’s CH/INT /BEL/CH/NL/ESP CH Boudivella Osca VW - Glen of Imaal
This dog surprised me, he certainly is solid with great strength, witha strong jaw, well defined stop and black nose. Forelegs of good bone and slightly bowed. Hindquarters well-muscled and hocks parallel. He is a joy to watch on the move with good drive and covers the ground effortlessly .

What a smart young dog at just 7 months, with a pleasing profile his head is broad and deep, forelegs set wide apart, well sprung ribs, close coupled and a level topline. His hindquarters are muscular, parallel with hocks well let down. Shown in excellent condition. Pleased to see him go onto RBPIS.
2nd Haynes’s Alantro Regal Jewel – Norwich
Compact young bitch with feminine head, dark eye and erect ear set. She has a good layback of shoulder, is short in loin and has a good turn of stifle, with pleasing topline and tail set. Moved well.
3rd Wilks’s Arunmere One In A Million – Border
Pleasing head with intelligent expression and ears set well, this dog has a straight front with firm pasterns, neck well set on, deep in body, and strong in loin. Presented in a lovely double coat of good length.
4th Hannington’s Boudivella Fire Cracker – Glen of Imaal
An alert young bitch of good substance. Delightful head with brown eyes set well apart. Body longer than height with a good spring of rib and topline rising over her loin. Moved soundly.

4th Fulker’s Onthill Crystal Clear To Foxpaw – Border
Attractive head with good eye set and stop has a slight curve, her ears are a good size and fold level with the skull, she has a clean neck of good length, muscular loin, moved well.

Masculine head with dark nose and eyes, correct scissor bite, good body proportions with level topline. Moved briskly with parallel movement, a pleasure to watch.
