I would like to thank the committee of the Leonberger Club of GB for inviting me to judge this show. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for entering and giving me the privilege of going over so many beautiful Leonbergers. On the whole I found the quality of the dogs was good and it was very encouraging to see some lovely young dogs in the ring.

Veteran Dog (2,0) 1 Didleo St Germain Saule, Mrs C A Germain, 8 ½ yr old who has only just started showing. Strong handsome head, correctly proportioned with a beautiful expression, good neck and sloping shoulders into well boned straight front legs with tight feet and upright pasterns, superb depth of chest, could be a little shorter in the back, good rear angulation and moved very well for his age. 2 Brynarian Ballimory Mrs J Moulsdale ,7 1/2 yr, strong head and good ear set, moderate length of neck into well laid shoulders, deep chest and level topline, a little weak in the quarters and sadly was showing signs of unsoundness in his near shoulder. Baby Puppy D no entries MPD (2.0) Lunahai Like a Hurricane, Miss H Jackson, 6mth, Lovely balanced profile and did not disappoint when going over this little fella, Well proportioned head and excellent ear set, lovely dark eye and soft expression, very good front angulation, a little sloping in pasterns at the moment, deep chest and super rear angulation, thick deep red coat in excellent condition, moved very well. 2 Gilvaris White Lion NAF TAF Mrs D Charwin, 9mth, Another promising puppy, Good length of head although slightly narrow at this point of his development, good length of neck and front assembly well angulated with lovely tight feet sloping croup and again correct rear angulation, not quite the depth in chest of the winner at the moment, moved well. PD (4,0) 1 Simden Bank The Hitman, Mrs P & Mr J Davies 10mth A beautiful well balanced pup, Deep muzzle and showing a strong jaw, well-shaped dark eye and ear set, good neck into gently sloping shoulders of correct angulation, straight front legs with good bone and tight feet, level topline and deep chest with well sprung rib, gently sloping croup and good tail set, excellent rear angulation moved really well round the ring, will watch this lad with interest, very happy to give him BPD and BPIS. 2 Simden Broadway Your Song, Mrs CA Germain 10mth, Litter brother to the winner, very similar to the winner, the same good angulation front and rear, deep chest, beautiful head and moved well, slightly sloping in the pastern and a little bum high on the day, but another quality puppy. 3 Cookie Bombs Leo From The Old Oaks (imp Deu) Mrs J Moulsdale, 4 Nevaeh Mishka Champion Tanyvska (imp Est) JD (2,1) 1 Simden Broadway Your Song, Mrs CA Germain GD (3,0) 1 Dragongardens Turn It On At Bilboos (imp Swe) Simmonds, Simmonds& Crawley Mr AP, Mrs PA & Mr W, 22mth, Nice looking lad, Handsome head with good mask and oval dark eyes, pendant ears set on correctly and hanging close to the head, moderately long neck flowing into the withers, shoulders well angulated over well boned straight legs and tight feet, lovely topline, strong back and deep chest, rear quarters well angulated with good muscle development and good placement of hocks and feet, super rich red coat in excellent condition, movement was even and ground covering whilst maintaining his topline. 2 Jantonely Zingalong Baloo Mrs H Sharkey, 19mth, another lovely boy and showing promise. Gentle expression, nicely proportioned head, would like a little more length of neck, front angulation correct and a super deep chest, level topline which he held on the move. Not quite the drive of the winner but still covered the ground, in good coat and condition. 3 Lendevers Spring Tide Miss C Harwood. PGD (1.0) 1 AlfrossTulabo Xavier, Mrs J Pugh, 3yrs, Lovely Masculine head of correct proportions and melting expression, Moderate neck flowing into the withers and sloping shoulders of correct angulation, strong forequarters although pasterns were slightly sloping, strong back with level topline which he held on the move, deep chest, strong loin. Croup and tail set correct as is the rear angulation with well-muscled legs. Moved very well around the ring. Coat immaculate. LD (3,0) 1 Lempileijonan Unelmien Prinssi (imp Fin) Mrs MJ Reader, Stood out in the lineup, Correct elongated head and slightly arched skull, dark mask and eye, moderate and arched neck flowing into the withers, excellent front angulation, strong front legs with good bone, upright pasterns and tight feet, deep chest and oval ribcage into strong loins, level topline which he held perfectly on the move, sloping croup and correct tail set, correct angulation on well-muscled hind quarters. Covered the ground with ease and drive, in good coat and immaculately presented Res Best Dog and RBIS. 2 Purple Rain Chico Valuer At Dacfolke (imp Pol) Mrs L Simpson, Gentle Expression, well proportioned head and correct ear placement, slightly arched neck, sloping shoulder and good upper arm angles, level topline flowing into sloping croup strong hindquarters, deep chest and in good coat, moved with ground covering strides and maintaining a level topline. 3 Amber Vitkennnel Crimson King Of Oldholbans (imp BLR) OD (5,2) 1 CH Corleone Navigator At Kalizmar (imp Can) Mr L Studholme & Miss K Rushby. What a privilege to have the opportunity to go over this dog. Easy to see why this dog has so many accolades to his name, he oozes quality from his nose to the tip of his tail. Exquisite head and expression good dark eye correct scissor bite with strong jaw, slightly arched skull with pendant ears close to the head, strong slightly arched neck flowing into gently sloping shoulders correct front assembly and angulation and close fitting elbows, well boned front legs with tight feet and upright pasterns, level topline, deep chest, strong back and gently sloping croup with good tail set excellent rear angulation firm muscle. Exuded ring presence as he moved with purpose and drive round the ring, best Dog and best in Show. 2 Saljay Milgo Morning Glory, Mrs SA Sandalls, this lad is nearly 7yrs but he doesn’t know it. Strong masculine head with lovely mask and dark eye, strong neck, sloping shoulders and well angulated in fore and hind quarters. Super straight front legs with strong pasterns, good topline and deep chest, overall muscle tone was excellent, hind legs parallel with all four feet pointing north. Good even movement that covered the ground with ease, would love to see more dogs of this age as good as this lovely boy, coat thick and in very good condition. 3 Alfross Romabo Harper, CE & J Lear-Schofield & Schofield Veteran B (3,2) 1 Brynarian Ballykissangel At Fieldhouse, Mrs J & Mr D Wescomb 7 ½ yrs. Lovely head and a sweet expression with good mask, ear placement correct and close to head, slightly arched medium neck flowing into the withers, front and hind angulation good with ample boned well placed legs, deep chest, topline not quite level on stand but when moving had a super level topline. Even paced lively movement which gave her the edge when challenging for best Veteran in show which I was happy to award her. Baby Puppy B no entries. MPB Debbollinby Kandy Floss At Shaleodust (TAF NAF) Mrs S Hurren, 8mth, soft melting expression with lovely shaped mask, good length of head but still a little narrow at the moment, Beautiful dark oval eye and well set ears sitting close to the head, moderate length neck, well angulated front assembly, straight front legs and strong pasterns and tight feet. Strong back and level topline which she held on the move, lovely deep chest, sloping croup, correctly angulated hind quarters and bend of stifle. Moved with even strides and drive round the ring. Stood alone but well deserved placing, was splitting hairs when it came to Best bitch puppy. PB (1,0) Kinglords Miss Selene At Alfross (imp Fin) CE & J Lear-Schofield & Schofield 11mth, another quality puppy with a super outline, exquisite head of good proportions, moderate stop and slightly arched skull with correct ear placement, dark oval eyes, lovely mask and strong jaw, moderate neck into well laid shoulders, good angulation, straight well boned front legs with strong pasterns, level topline and deep chest, correct rear angulation. Moved with power and grace, Best Bitch Puppy JB (3,1) 1 Sulandi Fallen Angel (IKC) Mrs H Heginbotham, Head correctly proportioned with a good mask and dark eye, Well angulated shoulder with straight foreleg, would prefer a shorter back, nicely sloping croup and good rear angulation, could do with a little more depth of chest. Moved well round the ring. 2 Pagency Megsul Tessa, Mr A & Mrs D Page, Sweet expression with a good dark mask and dark oval eye, good depth of muzzle and a strong jaw, good neck, correct angulation of the shoulder with straight forelegs and strong pasterns, good depth of chest, would like to see a slightly longer back, a little bum high at the moment and a little upright in rear angulation. GB (2,0) 1 Simberger Perfect Blend JW, Mrs L Simpson, Pretty little girl, soft expression with beautifully shaped dark mask, head of correct proportions, slightly arched neck flowing into withers with sloping shoulders and good angulation, straight fore legs but pasterns a little soft. Lovely depth of chest and good topline flowing into gently sloping croup, rear angulation correct and a lovely moderate bend of stifle which she used to drive herself around the ring. 2 Lunahai Whole Lotta Love, Mr A & Mrs M Lotz-Henning, Very pretty head, good length with a medium stop, earset a little high, Good neck and well angulated front shoulders, straight forelegs but pasterns a bit soft at the moment. Level topline with deep chest, gently sloping croup leading to correctly angulated hind quarters. Tracked up beautifully on the move in profile but a little close behind when moving away. Another year to mature and she is going to be a stunner. PGB (4,2) 1 Hillhaven You’re a Heartbreaker (IKC) Mr R & Mrs J Westwood, Such and exquisite and feminine bitch, soft melting expression, dark eye beautiful mask well proportioned head and well set ears, correct scissor bite and strong jaw. Moderate arched neck flowing into gently sloping shoulders with superb angulation, well boned straight forelegs with strong pasterns and tight feet, good length of back and depth of chest with a level topline flowing into gently sloping croup. Well angled and powerful rear engine which she used to full advantage moving around the ring. In good coat. Best Bitch. 2 Leosrus How About That, Miss L Hope, Another very sweet lady, gentle expression with a lovely dark mask and dark eye, good neck and well angulated shoulders, lovely straight forelegs and strong pasterns, Level topline and deep chest, correct rear angulation and strong hocks, coat in lovely condition. Good movement but a little close behind. LB (7,0) 1 Debbollinby Golden Halo Avec Shaleodust, Mrs S Hurren, Lovely balanced girl in super condition, lovely shaped head with a sweet expression, well placed ears, strong neck flowing into the withers, super angulation front and rear, good bone and straight forelegs and tight feet, good topline and deep chest with good ribcage, sloping croup and good tail set. Strong rear engine which she used to power around the ring, a very worthy winner. 2 Saljay Tgo Fields Of Fire, Mrs SA Sandalls, Lovely head with a regal expression and dark mask, Moderate neck and good angulation in the shoulder, straight front legs level topline and deep chest, good length of back flowing into a gently sloping croup, good bend of stifle and strong hocks. Another girl who moved really well. 3 Simberger Salata De Icre, Mrs L Simpson. 4 Hera Nasza Duma (imp Pol) Mrs H Heginbotham. 5 Fieldhouse Sun Dancer, Mr D & Mrs J Wescomb. OB (4,3) 1 Amathus Especially For You Jocolda JW, Mr RK & Mrs J Westwood, Quality lady, melting expression in a head that is well proportioned with a good stop and strong jaw, good ear placement. Moderate neck, slightly arched into well laid shoulders with good angulation, strong forelegs and tight feet, good depth of chest and correct rear angulation.
