My results and critique.

FLATCOATED RETRIEVERS

Thank you to Coventry & District Gundog Club committee for this appointment and their hospitality, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you to my excellent and efficient ring stewards Geraldine Dodd and Jules Metselaar-Williams, and to the exhibitors for your entry.

PUPPY (2,0)

1st Satinbaze Tranquil Sea (Hedges) - Best Puppy

A pretty 11.5-month-old black female with happy outgoing disposition. She is well balanced for her age with a lovely one piece well moulded head and dark almond eyes and kind expression. Good reach of neck and correct front construction with good oval bone and neat well arched feet. She has a good depth of chest and gradual spring of rib with short square loin. Moved the best of the class, straight and true, holding a level topline.

2nd Satinbaze Tea for Two with Shelkaru (Pacey)

Litter sister to the first and possess many of the same attributes. Feminine one-piece head with dark eye. Nice reach of neck, good level topline and well-set tail. She has strong, well-muscled hind quarters, good bone, and feet. She makes the most of herself when standing with constantly wagging tail but would prefer more drive on the move, and not quite as accurate as the first.

1st Benvellyn Sequoia (Jones) – Reserve Best of Breed

An elegant and feminine 13- month-old black female of correct size and type. Her head is of good length and is well moulded with a dark eye, and a soft expression. Well laid shoulders, flowing into a strong level top line, short square loin, and well-set wagging tail. She has good depth of chest and moderately sprung rib. Her hind quarters are moderately angulated with good width of thigh and well-muscled. Moved with lots of drive and enthusiasm. Please to award her Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd Kulawand Callisto (Lane & Lane-Ridyard)

A lovely 13-month-old male, with a typical moulded head with dark eye and kind expression. He has a moderate length of neck into a well laid shoulder, straight foreleg, and tight feet. He has a good depth of chest and a good length of rib which is gradually sprung. He has a moderate bend of stifle, well let down hocks and straight rear pasterns. Showed well in very good coat and condition. Unfortunately he did not show himself to his best today, and I preferred the overall movement of the first.

1st I know Him So Well At Rokaness JW (Burroughs)

2-year-old black male of the correct size. Nice overall shape, although he is carrying a little too much weight for me. Nice head with kind expression and dark eye. He has a well-made front and good bone quality. He has a good depth of chest, good length of rib and short square loin. Level topline and he carried his tail level. He moved very soundly in all directions.

2nd Caci’s Born To Be Mis Universe (Stevenson’s)

5-year-old female of the correct size. Nice overall shape, with good one piece head with kind expression and dark eye. She has a good depth of chest, good length of rib and short square loin. Level topline and carried her tail level. Moved very soundly in all directions but would like to see more drive.

1st Gloi Dubh Just One Look (Walker & Roberts) – Best of Breed

A lovely 4-year-old medium size male. He has a lovely typical one piece well moulded head with dark eye and alert expression. He has a moderate length of neck and a good lay of shoulder, with an even return of upper arm. He is well balanced throughout; he has a good length of rib and short loin. He has strong moderately angulated hind quarters and is presented in good condition. Moved very well on a steady even stride, showing good reach and drive. and I was proud to award him BOB

2nd Blacklake Isabella (Goodman)

A 8-year-old female. Presented in super coat and condition. Classical head with dark eye and soft kind expression. Good front and rear angulation, with level top line over well sprung ribs, well set tail that moves enthusiastically on the move. Very attentive to handler and moved well.
