Scottish Shetland Sheepdog Club

I would to thank the committee and the exhibitors for their entry on the day. It was a quiet entry but I had some lovely dogs to go over. Thanks must also go to my steward Margaret who kept the ring running smoothly for me.

Minor Puppy Dog (2,0)

1st & Best Puppy Dog. Gordon’s Lochdee Magical Mystery – 7mth old Sable and white who is clearly just a baby but walked around the ring with such confidence. Nicely shaped head that showed a blunt wedge when viewed from above. Dark almond eyes, black nose and well-placed ears that tipped over. Shoulders laid back and forelegs straight. Hocks straight, tail of correct length. Will watch with interest.

2nd Glencross’s Interstellar Bohemia Classic (TAF) – 6mth old Sable and White who wasn’t as confident as one but this will come as time goes on. Nice almond eyes and well set ears sat. Head of good shape, neck of sufficient length. Forelegs straight and chest developing nicely. Good tail set. When settled moved round the ring smoothly.

1st Babiak’s Donallin Running Bear at Egalefalls – 3year old Tricolour with an abdundance of coat. Almond shaped eyes, good earset, and complete scissor bite. Neck well arched and ribs well sprung. Oval pads and strong 2nd thigh. Tail low set and moved okay round the ring.

1st & Reserve Best Dog Saunder’s Galateus Bohemia Classic at Torriglen (imp cze) – 3year old sable and white who I have judged in the past when he was a youngster. He has developed very nicely with a lovely head, well placed ears, Jaws level and complete scissor bite. Well sprung ribs, straight forelegs and strong pasterns. Moved around the ring with drive.

1st Mikolajczak’s Art Felicity Starlight – 5year old Shaded Sable & White who moved okay when going round the ring. Ribs well sprung with straight forelegs and good pasterns. Good 2nd thigh and tail of good length. Was out of coat today.

1st , Best Dog & Best Opposite Sex Hill’s CH Aus CH Hartly How About Me For Molson (imp aus) – 9 year old Sable & White Lovely head with dark almond eyes and a clean blunt wedge from above. Ears well set. Neck well arched and muscular. Well sprung ribs and good depth of chest. Hocks well let down. Moved round the ring with drive. 

2nd Lewis’s Sandwick Curtain Call at Donmarvic – 7year old sable and white who was unlucky to meet 1 today. Nice balance of head with a clean blunt wedge. Ears set well and used, attentive to handler. Nice dark almond shaped eyes. Well sprung ribs and straight forelegs. Good 2nd thigh and well let down hocks and good tail set. Moved round the ring with ease.

1st, Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy in Show. Hill’s Cocaro Contraband – 8mth old tricolour with a striking black coat. Elegant head with lovely dark almond shaped eyes and good ear set. Level jaw with complete scissor bite. Straight forelegs and back with a graceful sweep over the loins. Tail set low. Moved round the ring with grace and smooth movement. Will watch her with interest.

1st Saunder’s Leterikhills River Star Over Torriglen JW – 16mth old sable and white who was very attentive to her handler at all times. Well refined head with cheeks flat, dark almond shaped eyes and well used ears. Neck well arched into well laid shoulders. Level back leading into a sweep over the loin and good tail set. Moved round the ring with ease. 

2nd Hepburn’s Leterikhills Tara’s Star – 13mth old sable and white Well set ears that when used gave a lovely sweet expression. Forelegs straight with good pasterns. Well laid back shoulders with good depth of chest. Tail set low and hocks straight from behind. Moved round the ring well. 

Yearling Bitch (3,2)

1st Hill’s Mad About You with Molson 19mth old sable and white with a refined and elegant head. Dark brown almond eyes, black nose and level jaw with complete dentition. Ears well set when used. Muscular neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Level topline with a nice sweep over the loin. Tail set low and moved round the ring with ease. 

Novice Bitch (2,0)

1st Macdonald’s Degallo Look Who’s Talking 15mth old sable and white with nice dark almond eyes and sweet expression. She was very attentive to her handler. Forelegs straight with strong pasterns and oval feet. Well let down stifles and tail set low. Moved okay round the ring. 

2nd – Brodie’s Richmaus Daisy Delight 12mth old sable and white with a refined head and well set ears that tipped over. Dark almond eyes and level jaw with complete dentition. Neck well arched leading into well laid back shoulders. Good hindquarters and moved okay round the ring.

1st, Best Bitch & Best in Show Hill’s Molson Mine Till Midnight 2 year old sable and white who caught my eye today. Very elegant and refined head with an alert expression and ears that were used well. Neck well arched and muscular leading into well laid back shoulders. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Forelegs muscular and straight with strong pasterns. Lovely sweep over the loin and tail set low. Moved round the ring with a smooth and graceful movement.

1st, Reserve Best Bitch and Reserve Best In Show Brodie’s Shanaburn Strawberry Wine 3 year old I judged this girl a few years back when she was a youngster and I still like her now. Refined head with good ear set and dark almond eyes. Neck well arched leading into well laid back shoulders. Forelegs straight and pasterns strong. Good depth of chest and hocks straight at the back. Tail set low and moved round the ring with drive. 

2nd Shaw’s Bramblecroft Reeba at Bluequarry 6 year old who was unlucky to meet 1 today. An abundance of coat but this did not hide anything underneath. Good head proportions with dark almond eyes and level jaw. Muscular neck, good depth of ribs and strong pastern. Level back with a graceful sweep over the loins. Tail set low. Moved round the ring with ease.

1st and Best Veteran in Show Cooper’s Blenmerrow Whoopsadaisy 9 year old sable and white who was clearly enjoying her day out. Head with a blunt wedge when viewed from above, dark almond eyes, ear set good when used. Good spring of ribs and straight forelegs. Strong hindquarters with hocks well let down. Tail set was correct. Moved round the ring with ease and gracefulness.

1st Hill’s Molson Moissanite 4 year old sable and white with a lovely expression and head proportions. Ears well set and tipped over. Neck well arched leading into well laid shoulders and good depth of chest. Forelegs muscular and straight. Pasterns strong. Strong 2nd thigh and well let down hocks. Tail set low and moved round the ring with ease.

1st Shaw’s Bluequarry Pearl Blue 9 year old Blue Merle with a sweet expression and clearly enjoying her day out. Ears set well and attentive to handler. Good spring of rib and straight forelegs. Hocks straight at the back. Moved round the ring with ease.
