I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at their show! The atmosphere has to be one of the best I’ve seen at an open show, the committee were so helpful and welcoming, all exhibitors were extremely pleasant and my stewards were so professional and well-organised. I found good quality among my exhibits although some of my dachshunds carried a bit of excess weight but nothing to make me overly concerned. I would not claim to be an expert in the breeds I judged however, I read through my breed standards and made notes of the things I would find most important in the breeds but I must say I was impressed with the quality of my wire haired dachshunds! I must say a special thank you to my stewards for keeping my ring running so smoothly and managing to keep up with my judging pace as I know sometimes I can be a touch fast for some! This is a show I will return to in the future either as an exhibitor or judge if they extend the honour again.

1, Miss L J Wright CHUNDECREST ESTRELLA

A naughty puppy bitch who was not making her handler's life easy! She has a lovely head with correct proportions, clean cheeks, correct stop, lovely eye with alert expression, good pigment, good length of neck with a slight arch, well-laid shoulders, good length and depth of chest for her age, a touch bum high which gave the appearance of an uneven topline, good rear end, well angulated, her movement was hard to assess due to her excitement but the few strides I did see had a good reach and drive. BOB, BPIB.

I liked the look of this dog in profile, nice shape of skull, correct proportions, good pigment with sweet expression, slight arch over the muzzle, good length of neck, correct shoulders, prominent front, good depth of rib extending well back, level topline, slight rise over lion, well angulated in rear which allowed for his excellent movement, nice coat, well muscled, it was a shame that I didn’t see him in the group but other priorities have to come first at times. BOB

1, Miss A Dickinson DERDLEDASH SKYFALL AT DAKOTADAX

Stood alone in puppy but did not stop her receiving top honours today, presented a beautiful outline, a cracking head, in good proportion, keen dark eye, good furnishings, correct length of neck into well placed shoulders, prominent front, good depth of chest with ribs extended well back, level topline which she held on the move, good rear angulation, well muscled for her young age, excellent coat, she moved superbly and really pushed for BOB even at her young age, will be exciting to see her as she matures on and was delighted to see she received puppy g1! BPIB.

A nice strong male, masculine head of good proportions and shape, lovely dark eye, good ear set and length, nice furnishings, correct length of neck, shoulders set on well, good front with ample bone, correct depth and length of ribs, topline okay, shown in good condition and coat, moved well.

2, Miss A Dickinson DERDLEDASH DAKOTA AT DAKOTADAX

Lovely head on this one with a good shape, dark eye, sweet expression, correct ear set, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, strong front, good depth and length of rib, level topline, a touch matronly, good rear end which was strong and muscular, moved okay.

1, Miss L Brierley BRAMALODGE BONFIRE HEART AT TATZE

She presented a beautiful outline and size, a gorgeous headpiece, good proportions and shape, dark eye with lovely expression, good furnishings, correct ear set and length, correct length of neck, shoulder set on well, prominent front, forelegs of good bone, lovely depth of ribs which extended well back, level topline, lovely rear end which was well angulated, harsh coat, well conditioned, moved like she was floating across the ground, very happy to award her top honours today and delighted to see her place third in the group! BOB

Another nice masculine dog who presented a good outline, strong head with a good shape, dark eye with lovely expression, nice furnishings, correct length of neck, good lay of shoulder, prominent front, good depth of rib with good length, good topline, well angulated, moved well.

I liked this youngster quite a bit, a lovely feminine head of good size and shape, kind expression, good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders, strong front, lovely depth and length in her ribs, level topline, well angulated in the rear which powered her well on the move, shown in beautiful coat, well muscled, she had so much power in her movement and a brilliant attitude. Another feminine bitch, nice head with correct proportions, lovely dark eye, good length of neck, shoulders well laid, prominent front with plenty bone, good length of ribs with enough depth, level topline, well angulated, in good conditions and coat, moved and handled well.

Your typical stubborn wolfhound youngster! Although lacking the maturity of 2 he is even all through, strong masculine head of good size, kind expression, nice length of neck which held his head high on the move, good lay of shoulder, straight in front with ample bone, good depth of chest for his age, good topline with a slight arch to the loin, well angulated in rear, loose on the move which is to be expected, good coat. BOB

2, Mrs L Waslin GLENGAIL CCAOIMHE

Another stubborn youngster in this class! More mature than 1 all through, feminine head of nice shape, beautiful expression, good length of neck leading into well laid shoulders, straight front, enough bone, good depth of chest, becoming a touch bum high at this moment in time, good bend of stifle, moved on the move as well.
