MID SOMMERSET AGRICULTURAL OPEN SHOW

Hungarian Vizsla, Hungarian Wire Haired Vizsla, Pointer.
Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge the above breeds and my fabulous stewards for the day, Jo & Ann who did a fantastic job keeping everything ticking over nicely. Even the weather was kind, not too hot for the dogs. Thanks also to the exhibitors for entering such fabulous dogs for me to go over.

PUPPY (2.2)
1. PARKER & GIST Miss V & Mr J. GLENBROWS ROUGE (9mth B) – BPIB
Overall, this is a lovely feminine girl with a confident but gentle demure. Lean head with good teeth and correct earset. Well laid shoulders & nice tight elbows and correct pasterns especially noticeable on a freestand. Ribs well sprung and correct angulation both front and rear, with correct tailset. Beautiful movement, graceful around the ring with good drive. A pleasure to go over her and delighted to give her BPIB.
2. GOTTLIEB Dr. S. RUSSETMANTLE LILOU (10mth B)
Lots to like about this young bitch but sadly not stretched out enough to show her off to her true potential today, one to watch in the future. Another feminine girl with a lovely head and correct angulation both front and rear. Beautiful head into with lovely kind eye, good reach of neck. Level topline leading into correct tail set and lovely tight feet. Not moving as well today and needs stretching out a little more. One to watch in the future.
SPECIAL YEARLING (3.4 – 1 Absent)

Liked this young boy, noble head leading into strong neck with well laid shoulders. Good chest and well sprung rib. Good front angulation and maintained his level topline on the move around the ring with drive. Sadly, his sister was not moving as well today.

Another lovely feminine girl with a pretty head, soft eye and correct set ears. Nice close elbows and good bone, upright pasterns even in a freestand and nice tight feet. Good reach of neck into level topline with well sprung rib, Well-muscled croup with correct tailset. Moved true and straight today with a graceful yet with power from behind as she was one with her handler.
2. DAVIS Miss S. PERLLANDSIDE ROYAL FANFARE (2yrs B)
Pretty girl with lovely head and kind expression into good reach of neck and good chest. Tight feet and nice angulation front & rear. Hock well let down and good movement but not as in tune with the handler as 1st today.

Beautiful feminine girl and doesn’t she know it. Full of confidence with a sublime nature. Head of a true noble lady with well set ears, soft eyes. In fabulous condition, well muscled but not overdone in any way to lose her feminine charm. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good bone and strong upright pasterns, beautiful freestand keeping her posture. Well sprung ribs, level back, well-muscled croup with a lovely tailset. Effortless movement keeping her topline with good drive from the rear keeping her elegance all round the ring which she owned. Delighted to give her BOB today.

Lovely young man with a beautiful expression and a pleasure to go over. Well proportioned head with good ear set and good clean dentition. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, close elbows, correct bone and correct slightly sloping pasterns. Well proportioned in body and in lovely clean condition, with good harsh coat, well presented, Muscular but not overdone. Level topline leading to correct tailset. Good angulation, well let down hocks. A pleasure to watch on the move with strong drive from the rear.
2. BELL Mr T.J, WILDNOOK SURTEES RAGNOR (3yr D)
First show for this young boy and he did play his handler up however he did settle to enable me to go over a little. Well sprung rib with tight elbows and good bone. Good angulation but less coat than 1st. He didn’t seem to know what he was supposed to do so didn’t move as well as I’m sure he could. Maybe some more ringcraft training would enable him to settle better however for his first show, he did a good job.

Lovely, chiselled head on this young boy. Muscular neck into well laid back shoulders. Good balanced angulation front and rear. Nice topline with a good deep chest and, nice turn of stifle with well let down hocks, strong rear pasterns which were evident especially in a freestand. Free and easy movement covering the ground with style.

1. SWAIN Mrs L. HAWKSFIELD GOLLY GOSH AT MOYOLA (2yrs B)
Pretty lady with good typical head and lovely expression with correct earset. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, nice mostly level topline, not over exaggerated. Well-muscled with correct bone with fine front pasterns. Moved effortlessly around the ring with the handler, maintaining topline and tail carriage.
2. OSMAN Mrs M. CATTISTOCK COSMOS WITH MARISSOLO (3yr D)
Lovely young boy, good head with correct earset. Nice reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Correct angulation and correct bone, however front pasterns were a little too upright which could have been due to the ground. Good topline and tailset. Ribs well sprung with nice correct tuck up. Nice feet. Not as tidy on the move as 1st however on another day could be the other way round.

1. OSMAN Mrs M. FLEURFIELD FIRETHORN AT MARISSILO ShCEx (7yr D) BOB
Lovely, chiselled head on this boy, equal length of skull to muzzle with correct earset. Muscular neck into well laid-back shoulders. Tight elbows with well sprung ribs extending back. Good bone with nice forechest, good slightly sloping pasterns. Topline mostly level with a short, straight well-muscled back. Good angulation front and rear with good muscle tone, holding his stance in a freestand on compact feet. On the move his tail was carried well with good reach in front, not over-done, effortless yet powerful and a dream to watch. So happy to give him BOB.
2. TREGASKIS Ms K. LUNA JW (6yr D)
Good head on this boy however not as equal as 1st in proportions. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Deep chest of moderate width and good topline, and well sprung ribs. Muscular hindquarters with well let down hock. Moved around the ring with ease however not as cleanly as 1st.
