Puppy (8ENT – 2ABS)

1.    Meadowline Prime Suspect (Best Puppy)

This 8-month-old black dog possesses a beautifully shaped head, which is broad with a well-defined stop. His cheeks are not fleshy, and his ears are alert, perfectly placed, and held with attention. He exudes happiness, displaying a pleasant temperament. For his age, he already exhibits good chest depth and well-barrelled ribs, which seamlessly flow into a well-proportioned loin that transitions smoothly into nicely developing hindquarters.

His legs are clean, well-placed, and solidly boned, aligning perfectly under his body and extending straight from the elbow to the ground. His tail, though still developing, is of sufficient length. He has a lovely set of thighs with sweeping stifles down to second thigh.

In movement, he displays the typical behaviour of a puppy, with moments of curiosity leading to the occasional nose-to-the-ground investigation. However, when he lifts his head, his movement is clean, true, and purposeful. He covers an adequate amount of ground with ease and demonstrates a lightness on his feet, he uses his tail to his advantage on the move to complete a soft picture.

2.    Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp

This delightful 8-month-old black puppy exhibits a well-balanced and harmonious outline. His front angulation is well-proportioned, with a strong and sturdy neck, seamlessly leading into shoulders that are long and beautifully laid back. His legs are straight and well-boned, supporting him with confidence, and his feet are tight and round, giving him a solid foundation.

His coat is dense, glossy, and impeccably presented, adding to his overall appeal. His ever-wagging tail adds a lively touch to his personality, constantly displaying his playful and affectionate nature as a puppy should.

In motion, he demonstrates excellent reach in the front, combined with powerful drive from behind, allowing him to move fluidly and with purpose. While the competition between him and the second-place dog was close, I preferred the slightly better balance offered by the first dog's front angulation and forechest, this subtle difference gave him the edge in overall symmetry and poise, making him stand out just a bit more in my opinion.
