GUILDFORD & DCS PREMIER SHOW

30TH NOVEMBER 2024

JUDGE: MARINA WHITE

BIS went to the Standard Poodle Pine-Haynes & Harris’ Vicmar Press Play. 19 month old black bitch. On her first lap around the ring, I was really drawn to her. In top class condition, well muscled throughout and standing on strong well knuckled toes, she had great width to her front and a good bend of stifle and strong hocks, she moved around the ring in complete unison with her handler with proud head carriage and attractive plume on her tail. Showed her socks off at the end of a long day with confident and typical dignified Poodle character.

RBIS went to the Greyhound Boggia & Graham’s Rubicon’s Songbird By Broughton (Imp USA), two year old female. Upstanding, feminine and making a lovely shape in profile, she was in hard muscular condition, tracked up true out and back, sympathetically handled, moved very well in profile and holding a low tail carriage.

BPIS went to the Greyhound Howlett, Boggia and Koulermou’s Ina’s Fashion Imperial NAF. 7 month old quality dog who must have a very exciting future. Pleasing head with long neck, good shoulder placement, chest almost reaching to elbow, ribs extending well back, slight curve over loin and with low tail set and carried low on the move. Expertly handled, will watch his career with interest.

RBPIS went to the Kerry Blue Terrier O’Rourke’s Kebulak Silver Dollar. 6.5 months, quality young dog who was full of beans and moved round the ring with such style, in excellent jacket, curls were thick and dense, I see he’s bred in the purple and I’m sure will have an exciting career.

BVIS went to the Border Collie Hoskins’ Sh Ch Birkcross Gracie at Lefevre. A favourite of mine who is a worthy Champion, handled to get the absolute best from her, in superb thick coat, such a pretty head and expression with high set tipped ears and keen and alert, she moved with plenty of drive, holding a level topline and low tail carriage. She appears heavy but it’s all coat and is in hard and lean condition.

RBVIS went to the Wire-haired Dachshund Ch Boloria’s Trick Or Treat JW VW. And what a treat she was, in beautiful condition and of good wire-coated texture, an absolute show girl and still loving it, she powered round the ring with a strong and steady stride, completely in harmony with her clever handler. A real eye catcher.

RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK – P (6, 1a) 1 & BP Raymond’s Sofala Angel Band. Lovely b, best reach and drive on the move, confident for age, white on her front and rear paws and a splash on her chest, but doesn’t go further than paw, darker muzzle and ears. Ridge well defined. 2 Raymond’s Sofala’s Every Lil Thing. Litter sister to 1 and of similar shape and style, held her topline on the move, nice head, less white on her, ridge and crown well defined. 3 Collier, Collier, Collier & Cox’s Carlincox Knock Ya Socks Off. J (3) 1 & BOB Hicks’ Nuthouse Going For Gold JW. Clear winner here, very sound on the move, accurate out and back, visible ridge and crown, pleasing head, broad skull, excellent shoulder angulation, ridge well defined. 2 Larkin’s Asharaa’s Hey There Georgy Girl. Very showy girl in stand and only has eyes for owner, makes a super picture standing, just not the reach and drive of 1. 3 Parker’s Asharaa’s She’s Magic to Azuli. PG (3) 1 & RBOB Raymond’s Sofala’s Raffaello (AI) JW. Outstanding mover with such reach and drive, very attractive head, good wheaten colour, confident and well natured, carries tail very low, good width to front, broad in skull, ears well set. 2 Storey & Piehl’s Kiromol Dare To Flair. Attractive rich wheaten colour, straight front, ears a little large, deep chest, good length of back, needs to strengthen up in rear, high tail carriage with an upward curve, excellent crown and ridge. O (4, 1a) 1 Storey, Storey & Piehl’s Ch Kiromol Heaven Can Wait (AI). Sound mover with ample reach and drive, balanced profile, lighter in colour, a little square over croup but with good angles front and back. 2 Mitchelson’s Amahle Red Hot Zephyr at Voortrekker. Attractive head, went at a very steady pace, flat skull, strong in muzzle, a little reserved, good bone for size, strong and straight front. 3 Dawson’s Priorpark Problem Solved.

SHETLAND SHEEPDOG – P (8, 2a) Liked the first two very much. 1 & BP Norris’ Ferngrove’s Code Blue. This blue merle was the ultimate showman, had good bone and of a good size, very appealing head with tapering muzzle excellent pigmentation, using ears continuously, well coated and presented, good body and rear angulation. 2 Winfield’s Iskander Bohemia Classic For Oakcroft (Imp CZE). Different type to 1 but had forechest and a great shoulder, resulting in great extension in side profile movement, just not quite the confidence of 1 at this stage. 3 Rennison’s Zaniah’s Illusionist. J (4,2a) 1 Rennison’s Sandwick Heart of Glass with Zaniah. Rather fine but a better overall size, presented in good jacket, with plenty of furnishing, feet a little flat. 2 Ferguson’s Dinmore Wild Blue Yonder of Fervaila. Rather on the big side, presented in excellent condition, holding a firm topline in the stand and on the move, a little proud of his tail, lots of character, well handled. PG (6) 1 & RBOB Norris’ Sabema Mayfly at Ferngrove. Spotted this very feminine girl on the first go around, best reach and drive in the class, handled beautifully, could have a shade more height in leg to balance out but lovely sweep over the croup into a low set tail. 2 Cheal’s Carolelen Composer at Faemadra. Handsome boy with loads of coat, carrying tail a fraction high on the move but very positive mover in all directions. 3 Fillery-Hammond’s Wavesong Born To Be Wild. O (6, 1a) 1 & BOB Mitchell’s Valdosta Goddess JW. Aptly named as she really oozes quality, nice size, make and shape, holds her shape on the move, moving with extension and accuracy, confident and curious, with a very appealing head and neat tipped ears. 2 Mitchell’s Valdosta Gracelands JW, litter brother to 2 and he’s a more masculine version, with slightly more size all round and a bigger coat, he also is a very good mover, covering a lot of ground with an easy free stride, lovely substance and type. 3 Cheal’s Carolelen Call My Bluff at Faemadra.

PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG – J 1 & BP Reilly’s Mangrove Xiphos Spartan Swordsman at Darmaror (IMP BEL) TAF. Fabulous 6 month old baby, great length of leg, superb pigment, thick coat, lovely sound mover for a giant breed and one so young, tail carried high, nice expression and head to clearly develop. PG (2,1a) 1 & BOB Henson & Dearman’s Lisjovia Eternal Guardian for Pyrekees. Well coated, clean condition, white colour with attractive biscuit markings throughout, large and well developed head, eyes well placed and with kind expression, nails could be shorter, moved well in all directions. O (2) 1 & RBOB Woolf’s Sabre Golden Ticket Du Pyrdanti (Imp FRA). Taller on the leg than 2 and not quite the extension but huge thick white clean coat and very sound, attractive head, carrying correct amount of weight over ribs. 2 Henson & Dearman’s Lisjovia Witches Promise for Pyrekees. Much shorter on the leg but very good shoulder angulation, carrying a little bit too much weight over the ribs so topline was rather soft in stand and on the move.

SAMOYED – O (2) 1 & BOB Bobrowski & Kirkwood’s Vandreem Imperial Breeze over Berezniki. In full coat, clean and of good length and texture, stands so square on excellent feet, with plenty of bone, has a balanced profile, high tail set with plenty of feathering on tail, really positive mover, covering plenty of ground, superb head and expression with dark pigment on nose and eye lids, one of my favourites from the day! 2 & RBOB Howlett’s Tiksi Forget Me Not, smaller in size so correct for a bitch, petite and compact, another very good mover with great high tail carriage, loved her expression and plenty of fur inbetween toes.

LEONBERGER – Two really lovely girls. 1 & BOB Osborne’s Nexgen All Eyez on Me. Lion gold in colour, outstanding on the move with such great extension in front and driving from behind, holding a level topline as she powered round the ring, not quite the length of coat of 2 but her coat was thick and first class presentation. 2 & RBOB Simpson’s Simberger Perfect Blend JW. Another very lovely girl of great size, angles and body condition, coat was of fantastic texture, sandy in colour and she had a very attractive head, just dropping her topline a little in stand and on the move.

DALMATIAN – Many thanks to the Dalmatian Club of Scotland for this breed supported entry. P (5, 2a) 3 very nice youngsters who I am sure will change places a lot. 1 & BP 1 Tillson’s Tamilanda Rose Gold at Elabri. Super liver spotted b with the most well distributed spots, she has great heigh to length ratio and an excellent rib cage which extends well back, her head is balanced and with a fully pigmented nose, good depth to muzzle, good width of front, a little loose in front pasterns and lost her underline with possible phantom but she moves accurately in all directions. 2 Alexander & Collier’s Offordale Jazz. Prefer this black spotted b for type and elegance and also love her size and athletic body, she’s a little more upright in pastern at this stage but has good substance, nice fill to her chest, a very attractive head and is a powerful mover, just very proud of her tail today which cost her the win. Beautifully handled to advantage. 3 Penn’s Dalarisa Spring In Her Step. J (4, 2a) 1 Healey, Healey & Wheaton’s Hebemor Careless Whisper from Dakata. 15 month old liver spotted b who I love for shape, substance and style, one of the best moving Dalmatians here today who had reach and drive in side profile whilst retaining a firm topline and carrying her tail in a pleasing position straight off her back. She’s a touch narrow between her front legs and I’d prefer her to have more even spotting throughout but a very good bitch. 2 Claesen’s Dalstorm Just Living. A top size boy with plenty to like, excellent bone and substance and can cover the ground easily with each step with a very pleasing tail carriage, an attractive ghost face with well set ears and gives an appealing expression, he has a deep chest, was showing his socks off and a good bend of stifle. His front legs could be straighter and tends to knuckle over. PG (7, 1a) 1 & RBOB Collier’s Kallierbelle Pink Sapphire, 6 year old black spotted b who is 6 years old but looks in her prime, very fit and well muscled and carrying the right amount of weight over her ribs, her spots could be more even and larger in places but she has a great front, super head, good length of neck, firm topline and well bent stifles, tail set is lovely and she moves with good freedom and extension. 2 H Careless Whisper from Dakata. 3 Pattington & Blomfield’s Hafwenna Honey Pie. O (7, 3a) 1 & BOB Tysterman’s Carodal Jacobs Ladder. One I’ve judged earlier this year who is getting better with age. quality liver b who makes a super picture in profile, a shade longer cast but retains the elegance and has the required substance needed, her head is feminine and balanced with excellent pigmentation, straight forelegs and good flexibility in her pasterns, good shoulder placement , firm topline, tail set could be a fraction higher but she has good width to her thighs and well muscled up, she moved very well in all directions. 2 Penn’s Dalfellin Agape at Dalarisa. Very attractive, happy and feminine open marked black spotted b, spots could be more even distributed especially across her ribs, she is shorter backed than 1 and another who has an appealing head, long and strong clean neck, shoulder a little more upright but she moves soundly in all directions. 3 Collier’s Kallierbelle Bluebelle.

AV MINOR PUPPY DOG (31, 20a) – 1 Collins’ Full Of The Dickens Winner Takes It All for Kingswud. Bearded Collie, quality classically marked dog who appeals for size, condition and type, he has an excellent front, very nice head, holding his topline on the move with a reachy stride and plenty of drive, holding his tail down well as it’s set low. What a prospect! 2 Ina’s Fashion Imperial, Greyhound. Who later took BPIS. 3 Heeley’s Thistlemead Fortitude. Border Terrier.

AV MINOR PUPPY BITCH (51, 36a) – 1 Everley’s Manzart Just A Rumor. Dobermann. Cracking b who caught my eye early on for her breed type, soundness and excellent showmanship, well constructed for her age and with plenty of substance, retaining that elegance, holds it all together on the move, what a nice puppy indeed. 2 Penn’s Dalarisa Spring In Her Step. Dalmatian, she was 3rd out of 3 earlier in the day under me in the breed puppy class but she is such a nice puppy and really showed so well at the end of a long day to take 2nd in this great class for of gorgeous youngsters. She is of great size, substance and has super black and clean spotting, moved very well. 3 Sofala Angel Band, Rhodesian Ridgeback.

AV PUPPY DOG (22, 16a) – 1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Tycadno Shining Star Around Macmoon. Cairn Terrier. Lovely type, in harsh jacket, holding a compact outline in the stand and on the move, striding out in the trot with such confidence holding his tail bolt upright, loved his head and expression too. 2 Heeley’s Thistlemead Fortitude, Border Terrier. A very nice minor puppy who had caught my eye in the MP stakes class, super head and expression, in great coat, a super showman, spannable and moving well in all directions. 3 Church, Church & Monks’ Invanse Unapologetic, BSD Terv.

AV PUPPY BITCH (27, 26A) 1. Milham’s Droyales One And Only at Shaddowsack, German Shepherd. Alert dog, dark muzzle, large high set ears, good depth of chest, topline was slightly sloping, well angulated rear, very sound out and back.
