AVNSC WORKING – G (3, 2A) 1 & BAVNSC Eagle’s Eaglehall Hot Gossip. Dogue de Bordeaux. Medium sized with a substantial head, strong powerful neck, good spring of rib, good angulation to quarters. Moved with power in all directions, handled well.
ALASKAN MALAMUTE – J 1 & BP Hughes’ Arctictribes Strange Magic. Full of showmanship for one so young, well up on the leg, excellent strong rear movement, holds a firm topline on the move, carrying the correct weight for her age, fully furnish tail carried high over the back. 2 Robb’s Icewolf Son of a Witch. Different type, shorter on the leg and still very raw, she has the most pleasing head, with a good expression, strong muzzle, wet set ears, dark eyes and a snow nose, needs to get a little bit more ring confidence. PG - 1 & BOB Robb’s Icewolf Fendi L‘Aquarossa. Gives a balanced profile, plenty of substance, in glorious coat, condition and excellent handling to keep her exuberance under control, she moves so true out and back and covers a lot of ground with each stride holding a firm topline and tail set and carried high and always waving. O – 1 & RBOB Robb’s Icewolf Jupiter Rising. Another well presented exhibit from this kennel, her handler did very well swapping dogs quickly inbetween classes, this bitch has small neat ears, good stop, plenty of bone, straight front although a little narrow, would like a little more leg. 2 Hughes’ Casiat Giro D’Italia to Ukluk. So on his toes, undeniably alert and masculine and raring to go, and could see him powering on a day’s work, his head did not appeal to me.
DOBERMANN – P (2A). Y (2,1A) 1 & RBOB Zaman’s Debison’s Edge of Glory. Very nice brown bitch in excellent coat condition but carrying a fraction too much weight over the ribs, well muscled up in rear quarters, running a little close going away, plenty of forechest, pleasing head, small ears, moved very free in all directions with proud carriage. O (3, 1A) 1 & BOB & G1 Tant’s Rafthouse Bundlebrent at Granadeya JW. Quality exhibit who impressed immediately for type, condition, size and elegance as she walked into the class. Her handler allowed her to place herself into a stand and she’s so well built, straight forelegs, strong well padded feet, forecehest and good depth of brisket, strong neck well set into a laid back shoulder, firm back which is slightly sloping, well angulated rear quarters, well bent hocks and a high set curled tail which sat nicely over her croup, she looked amazing on the move, holding herself with an elegant but free stride, absolutely loved her and she topped a strong working group at the end of the day. Well done. 2 D Edge of Glory.
GREAT DANE – PG (1,1A)
LEONBERGER – J (3,1A) 1 Heginbotham’s Sulandi Fallen Angel (IKC). Good for size, dark mask, strong and long neck, long tail carried freely, moved soundly in all directions, but needing to a lot of maturing in body as lacks the depth of chest. 2 & BP Moulsdale’s Cookie Bombs Leo From The Old Oaks (Imp). What a character! Just a pup but could see a lot of promise, lots of breed type here, fantastic friendly temperament, with plenty of bone, substance, already with a good spring of rib, front pasterns still needing to develop of course. Performed so much better later in the pup group. PG – 1 Sherwood’s Saljay Tgo Pink Cadillac. Just enough bone on this 2.5 year old who is calm and friendly in her greeting, good bite, head of good size, small eyes but showing a little haw, long tail reaching to hock, moved soundly, would like her to be fully groomed. O (5,1A) Lovely class and was splitting hairs. 1 & BOB Bodle’s Ch Hima Psia Psota Into Lionsridge JW (Imp). She had it all, type, soundness, coat, balanced body, appealing head, she ticked all my boxes for what I was looking for and I see from the catalogue, has her title, and can understand why, she would always feature in the top placings, she has strength all through, moderate angles and great width of forelegs, straight front, strong pasterns, super spring of rib, carries her self with such dignity and powers with drive. 2 & RBOB Brown’s Davenheath Guilty Pleasure To Brenaljay. Another very nice exhibit who was in excellent hard condition, glorious coat and screamed masculinity, powered round the ring in a sound and efficient manner, not the depth of chest or rear angulation as winner 3 Niall & Rothery’s Davenheath Gladiator.
ROTTWEILER – P 1 & BP & RBOB Watt’s & Gibbard Jezeva Hot Tottie. What a super smart baby with lots of promise, good strength to head already, super keen alert, loved her proportions, good rear, moved very well in all directions holding a firm level topline 2 Smith’s Jaegerot Mr Marvellous. This one lacked in maturity of 1 but still a very nice exhibit, super friendly temperament, good length to body, needing to strengthen in topline, rich markings, not quite the rear angles of 1. PG (2,1A) 1 Rivett, Gibbard & Piggott’s Jezeve Love Junkie. Good depth and breadth to head, liked overall proportions, just enough bone, holds a strong back in the stack, front action very clean coming towards, nice tail set and moving soundly. O – (3, 1A) 1 & BOB Vanson’s Pasko Du Temple D’Adranos Von Tiesto (Imp). Very strong and masculine throughout with powerful purposeful movement, tracking up well out and back, in hard muscular condition. Handled well, totally in control and keeping him alert and responsive and catching my eye! 2 Wicker’s Dortmund Liberty at Bluegold. Nice width of front and good body proportions, so sweet and friendly, skull too round and she appeared unsound on the move. What a sweet girl who clearly has a fabulous rapport with her handler.
AV WORKING – V (12, 4A) – Such an exciting class to judge with quality exhibits throughout. All exhibitors and dogs coped well during a very blustery spell! 1 Ch/Can/Am Ch Rarjo Quicksilver. PWD. Top class black and white who appeals for type, sound and reachy movement and showmanship, also in glorious coat and finish, correct bite, excellent front, well ribbed, strong rear quarters. A real eye catcher who topped this wonderful class. 2 Simmons’ Ch Chepam Woronora ShCM VW, Bouvier des Flandres. A real find, and not surprised she carries her title, makes an impressive outline, so compact and stands foresquare on straight and strong legs, defies her age, looks around 3 years old, movement just as impressive, straight, economical and driving from the rear. Loved her! 3 NL Ch Snowmist’s Isaac at Arcticskies JW ShCM VW (Imp) Benelux W18, Siberian Husky.
NORWEIGAN BUHUND – J 1 Platt’s Mazads Joie De Vivre. Promising wheaten who is alert, with short back and high set tail carried over back, light in bone and very brisk on the move, just needing a little more confidence in the approach but appealing head and expressive. 2 Strong’s Draccus I Have A Dream. Another one who was super naughty so difficult to assess, enough bone and standing a little taller, topline appearing to slope, good turn of rear hock, tail curled and carried over back. L 1 Guillod, Rees & Guillod-Rees’ Draccus Obsidian at Bucamereru. Black, handler did very well to stay calm when all the dog wanted to do was sniff the ground, when she did move, it was light and active with a decent length of stride. She can roach a little and croup falls away. O 1 & BOB Corin & Camm’s Kligenthal Almuric. Wheaten presented in excellent double coat, compact body built on a lighter frame, very alert with prick ears and short tighly curled tail carried over back, moved out well in all directions. 2 & RBOB Strong’s Ch Leggatts Dancing Queen at Draccus. Close up to 1, very alert, strong body, well ribbed, a little heavy over the ribs for me, high set ears, moved out well but not quite as clean front action as 1.
PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG – J 1 & RBOB Baverstock’s Kalkasi Super Special. Rather light in bone, holding a firm topline in the move but it weakens in the stand, straight forelegs and tight elbows, incredible light and free sound movement, beautifully presented and sympathetically handled. PG – 1 K Super Special. O – 1 & BOB McBain’s Lisjovia Flaming Drambuie for Willmac. Both of these dogs were excellent. I preferred the lay back of shoulder on 1, superb presentation and in excellent coat all over, powerful mover which was easy and light, very good strength to rear quarters, felt a fantastic exhibit to go over with everything in the right place. 2 Baverstock’s Kalkasi Just Because JW. Another lovely exhibit from this kennel, a little more narrow between the front legs but loved his head which was so typical of the breed, superb pigmentation on eye lids, nose and lips, presented in excellent jacket, moved soundly in all directions.
DALMATIAN – J 1 BP & BOB Stock’s Dalmark’s Jubilations at Nospar. Quality male with a very appealing balanced head with excellent pigmentation and such a pleasing expression, good strength of neck, well placed shoulder, front has good width and stands on well padded feet, well bodied up already with a good length of loin, long tapering tail and very accurate mover in all directions. 2 Stock’s Sophtspot Sparkler at Nospar. Totally different type to 1 but with excellent intense black spots, lively, friendly and so feminine, covers the ground with each step but just a little distracted so she doesn’t move as true as she should on the out and back. PG (3, 3a). O – 1 & RBOB Tysterman’s Carodal Jacobs Ladder. I really like her in the stand with good front angulation and matching rear angles, excellent coat condition, she has the most beautiful head, well set ears and endearing expression, spots are fairly well distributed, moves accurately but she tends to roach her topline, could’ve been due to the cold wind.
AV IMPORT REGISTER GUNDOG – P 1 & Best Import Gundog Bunn’s Corve Defiance. Barbet. Cracking mover, beautifully schooled, straight front, strong teeth with correct bite, friendly and happy temperament, moderate bone, holding tail high. PG 1 C Defiance. O 1 C Defiance.
AV IMPORT REGISTER WORKING – P 1 & Best Import Working & BP Collins’ Waldershelf Awesome Ryder, Entlebucher Mountain Dog. Long and low proportions, good ribbing and extends well back, good length of neck, pleasing head, excellent rich markings, moving very soundly in all directions and with accuracy. Handled and shown very well.
AV IMPORT REGISTER PASTORAL – PG 1 & Best Import Pastoral Symond’s Adonis-Ares Del Montevergine for Morrioghain (Imp). Bergamasco. Amazing to go over, super temperament, matts developing nicely all through, slightly on the thin side under all that coat, very sound and brisk movement, striding out well with a firm back.
AV IMPORT UTILITY – PG 1 & Best Import utility Sneiders’ Mistines Butybes Bancota. Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless). Tends to crouch a little in the stand but excels on the move with sound driving action, holding a very proud carriage, correct oiled skin all over, smooth and supple and tight fitting, expressive head, well placed ears and good pigment, handler was at her first show, and did an excellent job throughout well done. 2 Spry, Balode & Emerson’s Tamoanchan Xareni Bel/Lux JCH. Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless). Preferred this one in the stand but doesn’t hold herself as well on the move, another very well presented exhibit and a confident nature with smooth well fitted skin. (2,1A) 1 & Reserve Best Import Utility Spry’s Bel/Lux Ch Roltamshe Skye, Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican Hairless). Full of breed type and in excellent condition and confident in nature, fully erect ears placed high on head, well placed eye, good width to front with oily texture to skin, well bent stifles, good width of thigh, well muscled up, came to me a fraction wide in front.
WORKING GROUP: 1 Dobermann, 2 Wheeler’s Olibetay Bella Rose at Hipkins JW, Boxer. Quality exhibit with a balanced outline, excellent head, good size, and good underjaw, well off for neck, she was a very good mover in all directions, beautifully sound and moved on a low loose lead. Really liked her. 3 Simm’s Articskies The Chosen One JW, Siberian Husky, 4 Thomas & Bull’s Phoria’s Seventh Heaven JW, Bullmastiff.
WORKING PUPPY GROUP. 1 Williams, Newton & Slack’s Rarjo Macduff Making Waves with Megulcie, PWD. Very stylish, in excellent coat and beautifully presented and handled, impressing particularly on the move. 2 Leonberger. 3 Rottweiler. 4 Cameron’s Sutarka’s Fool Me Once, Siberian Husky.
DAY TWO
GRAND BASSET GRIFFON VENDEEN – P (1a). L – 1 & BOB Weymouth’s Soufriere Tourbillon at Woolybassets. Good firm front, liked the length of body, neck and underline on this one, tail set a little low, harsh texture to coat and happy temperament, well covered over the ribs and strong loin. 2 Marshall’s Soufriere Paserelle Bateau. Excellent head and expression, domed skull, good length of foreface, long and low seat leathers, good width to front, carrying a fraction too much weight over the ribs, good tail set and carriage, not quite the forward reach of 1. O 1 & RBOB Marshall’s Soufriere One Vision JW, wonderful head with domed skull, good eye shape and set and good length of foreface, long and low set leathers, coat was in good harsh condition, holding a firm topline in the stand and on the move. Happy mover.
PETIT BASSET GRIFFON VENDEEN – L 1 & RBOB Wood’s Beaujons Leading Lady JW. Preferred her head, tail set and carriage, very positive mover, good proportions, firm back, well ribbed, good shoulder. 2 Bishop’s Jamar Miss Skylar. Happy girl who moved steadily, ears were set a little higher, strong neck, decent shoulder, good depth of chest, strong back, a little straighter in stifle. O (5,2a) 1 & BOB Guernari & Dane’s Cynetkoy’s Tinker Tailor. A very nice dog with a good outline, long strong back and with a good layback of shoulder and good angulation to rear, able to move with a good reach and drive, holding his topline, very well presented in a harsh jacket. 2 Bishop’s Jamar Ina The Countessa. Liked for type, good proportions with a nice size head to match, excellent front angulation with forechest, good depth of chest, firm strong back, harsh coat was a bit thin all over. 3 Wood’s Beaujons Velvet.
DEERHOUND – An absolute delight to judge so many quality dogs today, exhibitors all enjoying themselves and supportive of each other. Thank you for making judging your breed so pleasant. Y (4) 1 Lucas & Dargonne’s Packway The Enigma. Friendly girl of good size, make and shape, deep chest, and a little tuck up, well arched loin and sloping to low set long tail, very good mover with a long stride, harsh coat all over. 2 Sandells & Lovell Packway Blue Moon. Litter brother and showing a lot of the same qualities but in a larger package, slightly lighter slate in colour with a good length of neck, good width of front, forelegs not as straight as 1 and preferred the layback of shoulder on 1. Positive mover in all directions with strong straight rear action. 3 Stuart & Holt’s Ollandsheart Matilda.
PG – 1 & RBOB Lucas & Dargonne’s Packway Ecotrailer. Anther nice exhibit from the same kennel, good type, size, substance and a very easy and active mover showing good strength going away and coming towards. Lovely condition and pleasing head with soft expression. 2 Stuart & Holt’s Packway Cora Sundrop at Ollandsheart. Full of type with a long and lean head with a decent beard, good length of neck set on to a well placed shoulder, strong back and a good arch over the loin, tail is long and set low, just not as positive in front movement coming towards. and 3 Shannon’s Packway Downlander at Erewhon.
O – (6) 1 & BOB Spring-Arnold’s Hyndsight Only In My Dreams. Top size girl who impressed for strength, substance but retained elegance and was wonderful to watch in profile on the move with a nice free and tireless gait, nothing exaggerated on her but with a smashing head, soft expression, deep chest, good body weight, well ribbed, medium rear angulation, long low set tail carried low on the move. 2 Stuart & Holt’s Ollandsheart Desdemona. Another quality b who was so good to go over, long and lean head with folded back ears set high, she has strong straight forelegs, perhaps could have a shade more neck, chest reaching to elbow and ribs that extend well back, strong well arched loin, good bend of stifle, very positive mover in all directions. 3 Lucas & Dargonne’s Packway Smackfarthing.
RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK – PG 1 & BOB Carlton’s Umhlandla Imifula. Friendly and gentle girl coming up to three years and showing a lot of maturity in side profile, balanced and a very good mover with good reach and drive, out and back she’s not as clean especially in rear movement, she has a well defined crown and ridge and good strength to head, ample bone and a firm topline, at one with her handler.
WHIPPET – Super class of youngsters. P (6) 1 & BP Morland’s Zoraden Gossip Girl. A promising little package indeed, 8 months and still left to grow a little on the leg, lovely proportions to head, flat on top and neat rose ears, long beck and positioned correctly into a laid back shoulder and decent return of upper arm. Strong loin, well bent stifles and a low set tail carried low on the move, she was so true and accurate out and back, free and easy in profile. 2 Wilton-Clark’s Shalfleet Oliver Twist. Very nice prospect, delightful quality, a little taller all over with the most attractive white collar, his chest is developing nicely with a definite tuck up, strong loin, medium rear angulation and well bent hocks. 3 Aldridge’s Selinko Arabella at Pondiver.
J – (6,3a) 1 Morland’s Zoraden Master Baker. In the best condition, and carrying correct weight, I found him to be so smooth on the move, covering the ground with an easy stride, really accurate out and back, straight forelegs, with good breadth of chest, quality head, eyes set well apart and giving such an appealing expression. 2 Thomas’ Bowdonia Sky Full Of Stars. Loved this one, stands across a lot of ground for her petite size but everything in the right place with the most lovely arch to her loin, very appealing head and a quality frame, her side profile movement is easy and free holding her topline, she wasn’t as accurate out and back as 1 on the day. 3 Wilton-Clark’s Shalfleet River Lord.
Y – (4, 1a) 1 Middleton & Gillhooley’s Stormida Neon Tiger. Larger frame with straight forelegs, balanced head, neat well placed rose ears, curvy all over and nothing exaggerated giving smooth movement and true coming towards and going away. 2 Hambling’s Chaseover Tom Collins. Good length of neck, well placed eyes, long lean head, straight forelegs, lean flat muscles over front quarters, a fraction shorter in rib and rather overangulated in rear which resulted in rather a roached back.
PG – 1 Wilton-Clark’s Shalfleet Chill Cracker. Clear winner in this class, felt good to go over, pretty head which was balanced, long and lean with good underjaw, straight front, good ribbing which extended well back, a little flat over the loin, moderate rear angulation with low set tail, she moved with a good stride and accurate out and back. 2 Reece’s Saleehah Stardancer. Quite a small girl in size and finer in bone, but was balanced in angles, straight forelegs, oval shaped eyes set well apart with neat ears, moved well. 3 Carlton & Olney’s Chiendetom Fanfare.
OD – 1 & RBOB Hambling’s Mossbawnhill Bit Of A Dandy with Chaseover. I see sire of the Junior winner, he makes a pleasing profile and stands over a lot of ground, nothing overdone and is very sound and free-striding on the move, flat skull, good width between eyes that were oval in shape, good width of front with straight forelegs, flat lean muscles over a well angulated front, good depth of chest and graceful curve over the loin leading to a low set tail carried low on the move. 2 Wilton-Clark’s Shalfleet Chasing The Wind JW. Very flashy markings on this boy whose deep brown eye colour matched in nicely with his coat, he stands well on oval well arched feet, a little strong in rear angulation for my preference. Moved true out and back and very well presented. 3 Middleton & Gillhooly Stormida The Brave.
OB (7) – 1 & BOB Thomas & Hallliday’s Brochinbelle Ooh La La at Bowdonia. I see from the catalogue she’s bred in the purple and both parents I have admired in the past. Not surprised this quality b took my eye, nothing overdone and stands so true with little assistance from her handler, the sweetest of heads with eyes set well apart, great front which is straight and with good bone right down to toes, I liked her width between withers and return of upper arm, deep chest and good tuck up with a slight arch to her loin, she held this all together on the move with a free and easy gait. Super girl. 2 Wilton-Clark’s Shalfleet Easter Sonnet JW. Different type but appeals for her flashy markings and a very appealing head with good eye and eye placement, front is not too wide and her chest is deep and ribs extend well back, firm strong loin, she falls away a little steeply in croup and stifles are overangulated. 3 Samson’s Romaclove The Power Of Love.
