DUKERIES (NOTTS) GUNDOG CLUB - POINTERS

It was a great pleasure to be invited to judge this show, and I would like to thank the club for its excellent organisation, efficient stewards, and first-class venue. I also appreciated the exhibitors' entries.

PUPPY DOG/BITCH ( 1 Entry)

1. Robson’s Bradgate Dasher, B/W bitch, 7 months old, very much a baby with a pretty feminine head, with attractive expression, good oval bone, well balanced, good quarters and tail, moved well.

JUNIOR DOG/BITCH (2 Entries)

1. Marsh’s Alozia Zealandia For Ratchd L/W dog, almost 13 months old and full of promise.

I was really taken with this youngster. I loved his head, which had a good balance between skull and muzzle. He was masculine with wide nostrils, a well-developed lip, a clean neck, a slightly arched loin, correct feet with arched toes and sloping pasterns, and stylish and positive on the move. I was delighted to award him a BOB.

2. Bell’s Brent Deville’s Advocate at Owlspoint (AI) B/W Dog, 18-month-old with lots to like, impressive profile, well presented, lovely head, nice eye & correct stop, good shoulders & spring of rib, powerful quarters, good bend of stifle, lacks confidence when being handled. I learned a lesson on the day: some exhibits don’t like to be spoken to.

POST GRADUATE DOG/BITCH (5 entries)

1. Bell’s Brent Deville’s Advocate at Owlspoint (AI)

2. Lake’s Lithespirit Daisy Hamilton L/W bitch, nicely balanced bitch, well presented and handled, not classic in the head but feminine with a kind expression, moved out well.

1. Lake’s Wild Thyme, 7-year-old L/W bitch, Lovely head, well-placed shoulders, excellent feet and pasterns, strong quarters which she used well on the move, lashing tail, free sound mover, lovely temperament,
