Cheshire Agricultural Society

Firstly, I would like to thank the society for the invitation to judge at their premier show. A great atmosphere and lovely hospitality. I did find some of the dogs weren’t too sure on the spikey grass, not that it could be helped, but it may have affected how the dogs did perform today. A big thank you to my wonderful, sporting stewards, and to all the exhibitors for their entries.

Junior (2)

1st Pearce, Francis & Williams – Longsdale’s Dance With Me Trebettyn. 15 month old dog. Sable dog of correct size and substance. The perfect almost square outline, covered in a abundance of good textured coat. Correct wedge shape skull, with well set ears. Does have a bit of tear staining around eyes, giving the impression of a rounder eye than desired. Very excitable on the move, but when he did settle, he was effortless and precise RBOB.

2nd Huntley – Fecimus Brother Bear at Puidelup. 12 month old dog. Brown. Good for size and substance. Correct wedge head and correct brown pigment for his colouring. Short neck into slightly sloping shoulders. Well angulated in the rear allowing him to move effortlessly around the ring. Just not quite the outline of 1 on the stack.

1st Jackson & Minshall – CH Perrymere Just Bertie JW. 6 year old cream dog. A real showman, he knew how to do it! The most perfect outline and topline, which he carried on the move – It was as if he was floating around the ring. A beautiful head and gorgeous dark, oval eye. Flat skull between his well set, small ears, which he used to advantage. A solid dog under that well-presented coat. A rounded rib and short strong loin. He is very well muscled all through. High tail set to complete the picture. Pleased to award him BOB and watch him get shortlisted in a very strong group.

1st Monks – Rozibon Adventure Begins.12 month old dog. Black and tan. Correct overall shape, with a beautiful head and dark, oval eye. He has a very typical spitz smile. Good length of neck, and broad chest. Good length of back in proportion to his size. Correct well plumbed tail. Set high. Good rear angulation and bone. Moved well.

1st Monks – Rozibon Adventure Begins. Repeat from 1st in Puppy.

2nd Lowe & Rosebury – Nixtev Blackhawk. Almost 6 year old black dog. Larger dog all round compared to 1, but still balanced. Very masculine boy, with plenty of stop. Correctly flat skull and well set ears. Good dark, oval eye. Well bodied, just enough bone. Correct high set tail. Not as clean on rear movement as 1.

1st Pearce, Francis & Roberts – CH Longsdales Rebel Rouser at Cwrtafon JW. 5 year old black dog. I have admired this dog from ring side on a number of occasions, and I was thrilled to find he did not disappoint today. Everything I was looking for, no more, no less. The best of heads and gorgeous eye. Everything in the correct place. Although, he did seem a little bored today, I just couldn’t deny him the top spot! BOB.

2nd Fitton – Nosregor Cassiopeia At Shelayne. 3 year old bitch. Extremely pretty dark sable bitch which has the most exquisite head and expression. Smaller, very feminine bitch, but very well made. A little longer in back to be picky, but this did help her move around the ring with a real ease. Good length of neck into correctly placed shoulders. Good depth and width of chest. Sturdy, level topline. Well angulated on the rear. RBOB.

All had the correct slight undershot jaw.

1st Harford – Baarnayotms April Showers at Mennimoonz. 11 month old bitch. A very pretty bitch who is starting to come into her own. She was a little unsettled today which made her tense up on the table, resulting in her seeming a little roached in back. Lots of scope for maturity at the moment though. A good length of leg to body ratio, creating a typical outline on the stack, with her well plumbed high set tail. She is very well angulated and has plenty of bone for age. Still needs to settle on the move, but she has plenty of time. BPIB.

Post Graduate (2,1)

1st Perfitt – Richearon All About Audrey. 20 month old bitch. A larger bitch all round but still balanced. A well padded muzzle with a defined stop giving her a good expression. Slightly domed skull, but a little wide on ear set. A level back into a high set plumbed tail. Well developed chest. Good muscled on the rear which allowed her to move very well from all directions.

1st Davies – CH Bowcara Be My Guest JW. 5 year old dog. Definitely my star of the day today! An easy winner here and no way could I deny him top honours. Nothing overdone, with the most brilliant head piece, completed with a lovely dark oval eye and the best of ear carriages. Holding his head proudly throughout the entire class, like he knew what he wanted. Perfect outline and outstanding movement to match. No surprise he has his title. Congratulations. BOB. 

2nd Lynch – Parloueve Who’s That Girl. 3 year old bitch. A pretty girl who was a bit of a dark horse in the class today, originally over looked until I got my hands on her. A lovely dark oval eye and correct ear set, but just not quite the expression and ring presence of the winner. She has a good amount of bone and a level, solid topline. A well sprung rib, and good depth of chest. A beautiful tail set and carriage. Correct hare feet which allowed her to really power around the ring. Very well handled. RBOB.

3rd Davies – Bowcara Rose Gold. 5 year old bitch.
