Thank you to all the exhibitors who entered today. I was thrilled with the quality in both breeds. Great solo steward who did a sterling job.

SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS

The schooling and presentation of all dogs present was excellent (even with the accompaniment of loud live jazz played throughout).

1 Rowan – Rowancrest Cinderella

Very feminine sable; quite the little showgirl for one so young – 8 months. Best of heads and eye giving the desired sweet expression with neat well used ears. Good underjaw. Classically marked with a white collar enhancing textbook front assembly. Arched neck, rise over loins – a beautiful series of gentle curves that had instant appeal. Moved as her angles suggested, light and effortless with ground coverage - with time will tighten up all around. Good bone and feet. BP pleased to see she took PGR3

2 Sorockyj – Shazbec Maid of Honour at Sheltisha

Mature 9-month-old beautifully coloured blue who pushed 1 hard. Carrying a wealth of good textured coat, large white shawl enhanced her front assembly. Well balanced head with good planes and stop though not quite the expression of winner. Scored highly in body proportions and matching angles. Displayed light, effortless movement.

1 Sorockyj – Shetlisha Royal Approval

Feminine blue who appealed for her overall balance, size and shape. Refined head with parallel planes, correct stop and almond well sized eyes that gave a lovely expression. Well placed/tipped ears that she used to best advantage. Good neck, well placed shoulders and matching return of upper arm. Good bone, pasterns and feet. Ribs reached well back and rise over the loins. Correct croup and tailset, long tail carried low. She moved accurately with style, in the challenge moved with more composure and co-ordination than others BOB

1 Sorockyj – Padawan Mandalorian

Honest 3 1/2 yr old sable boy with lots to like. Good head planes, correct stop and almond eyes, would prefer a little more underjaw. Correct body proportions and carrying enough coat of good texture. Moved OK, but not the reach of the BOB. RBOB

2 Deveson – Janetstown Je Suis JW ShCM

10 years young sable bitch presented in stunning coat and condition- a real credit to her owner. Very feminine head, good planes with correct stop. Almond eyes giving a worldy-wise expression. For age has excellent dentition and decent underjaw. Front and rear matching angles. She moved well but not the verve and topline of the winner.

1 Simmons & Inverno – Sashdan Pure Imagination with Simmovon (Imp Aus)

11 month old classically marked B&W dog. Mature for age, presenting a fabulous outline both stacked and gaiting - very balanced throughout giving the smooth flowing lines I so admired. Head is well proportioned with kind dark eye. Strong neck flowing into well set shoulders and matching return of upper arm. Well boned forelegs to carry a strong deep chest, ribcage reaching well back and correct loin. Rear angulation matched front. Came alive on the move, great reach and drive with accurate footfall with minimum lift holding perfect topline and head carriage. Thrilled to see him awarded BP / BOB / PGRP 1 / BPIS

2 Collins – Blackgold Basil

8 month male B&W giving away a lot of maturity to winner. Built on finer lines and appeals for workmanlike outlook. Decent head with good stop and well set dark eye. Good body proportions but not the reach of neck or front angulation of 1. Decent bone and good feet. Moved true in all directions. Worked well with handler with typical temperament.

1 Welch – Simmovon Reason to Dream

B&W 12 months old presenting a balanced outline, moderate throughout. Lovely head and expression coming from oval eye, stop and good use of ears. Good height/length ratio - would prefer a little more neck. Well sprung ribs and deep chest, toned muscles and moderate bone. Movement was easy and positive with no wasted energy covering the ground. Beautifully presented and handled to advantage RBOB – just did not have the “X-Factor” of the puppy.

2 Garside & Davies – Starside Tina Turner

Feminine girl displaying a functional outlook. Good head proportions and eye. Attentive to her handler which enhanced her expression. Decent front assembly. Firm topline. Slightly sloping croup and well set tail.

Rear angulation matched front but just did not get it together on the move.

PG (1,0)

1 Brelsford – Blackgold Little Elf

Pretty bitch with balanced proportions presenting a pleasing silhouette. Good head shape, with a distinct stop, correct dark eye giving a feminine expression, attentive to handler. Decent front assembly and depth of chest, ribs reached well back with good loin and croup. Excellent length of second thigh and strong let down hocks. Has the components but did not make the best of them today.

1 Crompton & Radcliffe – Piece of Happiness Heavens Miracle by Arrowdare (imp Hun)

3 yr old B&W bitch that has lots of breed type. Lovely head proportions feminine expression, coming from dark oval eyes and correct stop. Well used ears and attentive to handler. Matching angles front and rear allowed good ground coverage with minimum effort. Correct balance from all angles. Good bone, pasterns and feet. Presented in excellent coat & condition – best mover in class.

2 Garside – Harbecca Noahs Gift

Pleasing head and expression. Correct coat and presented in hard muscular condition. Collar markings a little deceptive but would prefer more length of neck and layback of shoulder. OK depth of chest and ribbing. Not the stride length of 1 – however moved true out and back with typical head and tail carriage.
